Chapter 17 - Change 4

Ye Shuya and Su Yao began to live together. She deeply felt that being with Su Yao was a pleasure she had never experienced in her life. They were like newlyweds, sweet and loving every day, waking up to see each other.

Every morning, Su Yao would wake up to give her a good morning kiss, and then the two would chat in bed, talking about each other, daily life, and experiences from abroad... It wasn't until they were too hungry that Ye Shuya would get up to cook. No matter how poorly she cooked, he would always smile and praise her, "Ya Ya, I really like it, this is the best meal I've ever had."

Living together means that there are always many things that need to be adjusted. Falling in love is easy, but getting along is hard, and Ye Shuya knew this. She felt that this relationship was hard to come by, so she often adapted to Su Yao's lifestyle.

Su Yao had a cleanliness obsession, so she made an effort to clean the house with disinfectant every day. Su Yao didn't like flowers, so she put her beloved vase at the bottom of the box. Su Yao couldn't sleep with light, so she turned off the wall lamp that she used to turn on every night.

Perhaps it seemed hard to outsiders, but Ye Shuya was very happy. This happiness was enough for her to forget Qin Wei, even forgetting her previous inner struggles. Qin Wei also seemed to have vanished, and his phone never rang since the day Su Yao moved in.

On the tenth day of the first lunar month, a cold air suddenly dropped, and the city became extremely cold. Ye Shuya was afraid of the cold and hid in the quilt, only showing two round eyes.

Su Yao was helpless.

Ye Shuya blinked and said, "How about we go on a honeymoon?"

After a moment of consideration, the two quickly boarded a flight to Hawaii.

The temperature in Hawaii was close to 30 degrees Celsius, and Ye Shuya was delighted. She put on a sexy bikini and lay on the beach to bask in the sun. Su Yao still wore long sleeves and pants, hiding under a sun umbrella, leisurely sitting on a beach chair drinking Longjing tea before the rain, of course, with his own tea set.

Su Yao's charm was always irresistible. In just half an hour, dozens of foreign women came to chat up. Among them were many beautiful and sexy women. Ye Shuya counted, there were eighteen. But what made her satisfied was that Su Yao completely ignored them, not one.

When some were persistent, Su Yao would point to Ye Shuya lying beside him.

Ye Shuya raised her chin proudly.

As soon as the beautiful woman left, Ye Shuya sat up and gave Su Yao a fragrant kiss. Taking such a top-notch man out was a sense of achievement, which made her happier than when she stood out among many interviewees.

She and Su Yao squeezed on a beach chair, and Su Yao handed her a cup of Longjing tea. Ye Shuya took a sip and was scalded, exclaiming, "Su Yao, who makes tea on the beach?"

Su Yao smiled without saying a word and had someone change it to juice for her.

Ye Shuya took a few big sips and then sighed with enjoyment, "This is what summer should be about." She squinted at the scorching sun in the sky, "Ah, thinking of the cold in the city, I don't want to go back."

Su Yao smiled and said, "We can stay here a bit longer."

"Ah, I have to go to work in a week, this holiday passed so quickly, life is really troublesome."

Seeing Ye Shuya's melancholy face, Su Yao subconsciously said, "How about I support you?"

She swallowed the juice forcefully and stared at Su Yao.

Su Yao's eyes were filled with laughter, "How about it?"

Ye Shuya seemed to be considering the possibility of this sentence, but in the end, her expression was even more melancholic, "No, a woman must have an independent economic ability, so that she has a position at home. So I'd better go back to work honestly."

Su Yao smiled noncommittally and continued to leisurely taste tea.

Later, facing the persistent chat-up, Su Yao got impatient and dragged Ye Shuya back to the villa. Su Yao said it was his eldest brother's property. When Ye Shuya first arrived, she felt that the villa was full of sunshine everywhere, making people energetic and spirited. But the only drawback was that there was not a single flower.

Ye Shuya didn't expect to see Su Yao's eldest brother, Su Jiu, so soon. She and Su Yao had just returned to the villa when Su Jiu rushed over with a gloomy face, looking stern and imposing.

However, what Ye Shuya noticed first was that as brothers, they really didn't look alike at all.

Su Jiu said angrily, "Go back to France immediately."

Su Yao didn't seem to be afraid of his eldest brother at all. He said lightly, "I've told my father, I'm not going back."

Su Jiu didn't seem to expect his younger brother to say this. His gaze fell on Ye Shuya, who felt a bit cold and nervous. She coughed and said in the calmest and most decent tone and expression, "Eldest Brother Su, hello, my name is Ye Shuya, I am Su Yao's..."

Ye Shuya paused, she didn't know how to explain the relationship between them.

Su Yao naturally put his arm around her waist, "My person."

She couldn't help but laugh out loud. Su Yao glanced at her with a hint of teasing in his eyes. The anger on Su Jiu's face suddenly disappeared. His eyes sparkled as if he had discovered a new continent. He was so excited that he couldn't even speak Chinese and blurted out fluent French.

Ye Shuya couldn't understand French and could only look at the two in confusion. Su Yao looked at Su Jiu strangely, spoke a few words with him in French, and Su Jiu frowned. But after glancing at Ye Shuya, he couldn't stop smiling.

At that moment, Ye Shuya thought to herself that she should have studied more foreign languages in college. This way, she wouldn't feel so helpless when faced with sudden language barriers.

Finally, when Su Jiu left, he gave Ye Shuya a meaningful look and said to her in standard Mandarin, "Miss Ye, please take good care of Su Li. Su Li's health is not suitable for staying in Hawaii for a long time."

Ye Shuya was taken aback. She wanted to ask, who is Su Li? But obviously, Su Jiu didn't give her a chance to ask. After speaking, he left in a hurry, just as he had come.

She turned her head, and Su Yao was gone too. She searched the large villa for a long time before finally finding him in a small room. Su Yao stood on the balcony, and from a distance, there was a vast expanse of blue ocean, and the sky was also blue. She walked over and quietly held Su Yao's hand, whispering, "I've been looking for you for a long time."

Su Yao remained silent, just quietly looking at the distant horizon, seemingly thinking about something.

Ye Shuya blinked and asked, "Hey, do you know who Su Li is?"

Su Yao said indifferently, "It's my name from before."

Ye Shuya had actually guessed this answer, but hearing it, coupled with Su Yao's behavior in the wooden cabin earlier, it seemed that every time something related to his family was mentioned, he would become very strange and distant from her. Suddenly, she felt stuffy in her heart, as if there was a blockage.

She released Su Yao's hand and also gazed at the distant ocean. The temperature in Hawaii was surreally hot. It was still winter, and she suddenly missed the city by the sea, missing it very much.

"Su Yao, let's go back tomorrow," Ye Shuya said softly.

Su Yao turned his head, looked at her, and his eyes were deep, "Okay."

At night, Su Yao was very initiative, tossing and turning until Ye Shuya almost cried. After it was over, Ye Shuya bit Su Yao's shoulder hard, causing him to groan in pain.

Ye Shuya felt very relieved and lay on the bed without making a sound. The bed was very large, and Ye Shuya deliberately stayed far away from Su Yao, with enough space between their blankets for two more people. She thought Su Yao would come over and coax her gently, but he didn't. She quietly turned her head, and Su Yao was sleeping very quietly. His breathing was steady and long. Ye Shuya was angry but couldn't bear to wake him up, so she had to reach for her phone on the bedside table and prepare to play games.

When she couldn't sleep, she loved to do this kind of thing. Usually, after playing a few rounds, all her frustrations would disappear.

After turning on her phone, Ye Shuya received a call from Qin Wei.

She was startled and covered the phone, quickly glancing at Su Yao to see if he had any reaction. Seeing that he didn't, she carefully turned over and got out of bed, running to the balcony to answer it. Qin Wei's voice seemed to carry a heavy fatigue, something she had never heard before.

She couldn't even remember Qin Wei's appearance now, feeling that it was just a vague mass of white fog. She didn't know if it was because she hadn't seen Qin Wei for too long.

Qin Wei said a lot, but she didn't hear clearly. It was very noisy on his side, as if there were many people there. She even heard a woman saying in English, "Wei, come on."

Ye Shuya wanted to ask who that woman was. But she couldn't bring herself to ask. The fact that she betrayed Qin Wei and was seeing two people at the same time was true. So she felt very guilty, and her voice was somewhat timid when talking to Qin Wei.

"Ah Qin, your friends seem to be calling you. Are you very busy?"

Qin Wei said, "Ya Ya, what do you really want to do?"

She was startled and said subconsciously, "Ah Qin, what are you talking about?"

Qin Wei sighed, "Ya Ya, I've been with you for so many years, I'm not clear about what you've done, right? As long as you are willing to leave Su Yao, I can pretend nothing has happened."

He added, "Why did Su Yao change his name? Why did he change it to the same as his sister's? Why does he become abnormal when he mentions anything related to his family? Ya Ya, Su Yao is not worthy of you, really, believe me, leave him."

She covered her head and squatted down, "Ah Qin, please, don't say anymore."

Qin Wei hung up the phone.

Su Yao woke up at some point, and the space beside him was empty. He turned on the wall lamp, but Ye Shuya was nowhere to be seen. He suddenly felt his heart become empty as well. He got out of bed and then noticed that the curtains of the floor-to-ceiling windows were open. She was standing on the balcony, seemingly making a phone call. Her profile looked very gentle, an expression he had never seen before.

Who was she talking to in the middle of the night?

Su Yao didn't want to think further. The answer was on the tip of his tongue, but it was something he didn't want to know.

He waited for a long time, as if half a century had passed, before Ye Shuya pulled open the floor-to-ceiling windows and walked in. Seeing Su Yao standing by the bed, she looked a bit surprised, but she quickly smiled and said, "Did I wake you up?"

Su Yao shook his head slowly, "No."

Ye Shuya let out an "oh," lowered her eyes, and tried to climb back into bed to continue sleeping. As she passed Su Yao, he suddenly grabbed her wrist. She looked back, and Su Yao pursed his lips and said nothing.

Thinking of Qin Wei's words, Ye Shuya's heart trembled. She didn't dare to look at Su Yao anymore, shook off his hand, dove into the quilt, and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

Su Yao still couldn't help it in the end. He leaned forward and encircled her waist from behind. "Ya Ya, are you angry?"

Ye Shuya didn't make a sound.

Su Yao lowered his head and kissed her earlobe. She shuddered violently and screamed, "Su Yao, let go of me."

Su Yao stopped kissing, but his hand remained on her waist. He was silent for a while before saying, "Are you feeling guilty?"

Ye Shuya pushed him away. She turned over and looked directly at him, "Yes, I'm feeling guilty."

"Regretting it?"

Ye Shuya didn't speak. She couldn't answer this question, nor did she want to. She suddenly began to hate Su Yao. Why did he ask her such questions? Why was he pressuring her like this?

Qin Wei was pressuring her, and so was Su Yao. She felt like her head was about to explode.

She covered her head in pain, "Can't you both stop pressuring me?"
