Chapter 19 - Change 3

As the Spring Festival approached, Ye Shuya went out to buy New Year's goods. Qin Wei told her that he was too busy with work to come back for the New Year. She put on a hygiene hat, a rag in her left hand and a broom in her right, and began the annual thorough cleaning.

While tidying up the room, she gazed at Su Yao's clothes and scarf for a long time.

Since that time, Su Yao seemed to have vanished into thin air, never appearing again. She found herself staring at her phone every day, hoping for a call from Su Yao. At Angie's house, she couldn't help but look towards the villa on the hillside, but the lights in the villa never came on.

Ye Shuya conducted a deep self-examination and decided that after the New Year, she would draw a clear line with Su Yao. Ambiguity was indeed heart-fluttering, but the torment following it was heart-wrenching.

She had a boyfriend and absolutely couldn't withstand such torment.

She folded Su Yao's clothes and scarf, then called a courier company. After filling in Su Yao's address, she signed her name in the sender's column, feeling like she was building a wall between her and Su Yao.

Qin Wei, upon learning this, said to her, "Ya Ya, you're doing the right thing. I will finish my work as soon as possible and then find time to come back and accompany you."

"Okay, I'll wait for you," she replied.

She thought life would return to its normal track, but fate seemed to have other plans.

The day after she decided to give up on Su Yao, which was on New Year's Eve, she was dressed like a forty-year-old aunt, wearing a ridiculous pink apron, climbing a ladder, and trying hard to paste the paste-coated couplets on both sides of the door when Su Yao appeared.

Someone once said that when one is secretly in love with someone, there's always a chance to rekindle hope after feeling disheartened. When she first read this, she understood that it was just the wishful thinking of those in secret love.

Because of the illusion in the heart, an ordinary action can be endowed with a magnificent color.

Just like now, Su Yao asked her with a smile, "Ya Ya, I've brought dumplings. Would you like to eat together?"

In that moment, she felt that Su Yao liked her. On this lonely New Year's Eve, instead of being with his family, he came to her place, which was enough to show her importance.

She was overjoyed, climbed down from the ladder with a bright smile, and said, "Su Yao, wait a moment. I'll change my clothes."

Ye Shuya rummaged through her wardrobe, quickly took off her sportswear, and put on a black silk dress. She also washed her face in the bathroom and fixed her hair.

Su Yao was watching TV in the living room, where Zhao Benshan was performing a sketch, with exaggerated actions and very internet-slang language, making the audience burst into laughter.

When Ye Shuya came out, Su Yao gave her considerate praise.

"I went back to France a few days ago," Su Yao said.

She was taken aback, "What?"

Su Yao explained, "I didn't call you these days because I went back to France."

He smiled, "Let's eat the dumplings."

Ye Shuya tasted one and found the flavor excellent. She asked in surprise, "Where did you buy them? The taste is just right."

"I didn't buy them, they were made by our family chef. His fried steak is also very good, you can try it next time," Su Yao didn't eat much, after eating one, he put down his chopsticks and kept staring at Ye Shuya.

She felt a bit uncomfortable being watched and her face turned slightly red. Zhao Benshan on TV was still tirelessly performing his sketch, and she cast her gaze there, pretending to watch the show attentively.

Su Yao suddenly asked, "Aren't you going home for the New Year?"

She stiffened and said in a low voice, "I don't have any family left."

Su Yao was silent for a while, then asked, "What about your boyfriend?"

"He... is busy with work."

Su Yao took the remote control and turned off the TV, "Ya Ya, maybe it's presumptuous of me to say this..."

She widened her eyes, looking at him.

He seemed to be weighing his words, taking a long time before he said, "If you don't mind, I can spend the New Year with you."

"I..." She was very pleasantly surprised inside, but thinking of Qin Wei, she couldn't speak.

Su Yao smiled and said, "Ya Ya, you know I like you."

She gasped for breath.

Su Yao gently held her hand, tenderly kissed the back of her hand, his voice low and charming, "You like me too, don't you?"

Her face flushed instantly, her heart racing, "I... I..."

Su Yao patiently waited for her response, his gaze soft yet steadfast.

Finally, she mustered the courage, her voice faint but firm, "I have a boyfriend."

"I know," Su Yao's voice carried a hint of temptation as he leaned closer to her, whispering, "But if you don't say it, if I don't say it, how would he ever know? Ya Ya, you like me, I like you, why can't we be together?"

Her eyes widened in shock at his words, "Su Yao, this is the behavior of a homewrecker, society won't allow it..."

Su Yao looked at her tenderly, his eyes filled with deep affection and understanding.

She was momentarily speechless, the scales in her heart already tipping between morality and Su Yao, almost melting under his gentle gaze.

"Ya Ya..." he called softly, leaning forward to kiss her. It was not a fleeting peck but a deep, lingering kiss. She transitioned from resistance to compliance, their tongues entwining between their lips, as if kissing each other's souls.

Ye Shuya felt like she was about to suffocate; she knew she shouldn't let herself go like this, but she couldn't resist Su Yao's allure, her entire body feeling like it was about to burst into flames.

Her eyes were like a pool of spring water, so moist that it made his heart skip a beat.

He shifted his gaze to her tender lips. His voice was filled with desire, "Ya Ya, I want to bring you happiness."

Heaven knows how ambiguous their current position was. The two were like Siamese twins, pressed against each other, their breaths entwined with a lingering flavor. She was encircled in Su Yao's arms, able to touch his lips with just a slight lift of her head.

"Ya Ya, I don't mind if you're involved with two people at the same time, I'll leave the moment he comes back," Su Yao's voice carried a hint of helplessness and promise.

She was trembling all over, her heart pounding violently. She looked at him in disbelief; his eyes were like bottomless whirlpools, and at such a close distance, she felt like being sucked in. She quickly lowered her eyelids, focusing on the corner of her clothes.

Su Yao didn't plan to let her go; he caught his breath and kissed her again.

As Ye Shuya was lost in the moment, Su Yao whispered in her ear, "Ya Ya, is it okay?"

Her heart felt like it was struck by lightning, Qin Wei's voice echoing in her mind, "Ya Ya, don't get involved with Su Yao." She was also telling herself, "Yes, you can't be with Su Yao."

But she heard her own voice vanish into Su Yao's mouth.

"Okay."

Everything seemed to go haywire after that "okay," as if everything was starting to make sense. The wall lamp still emitted a soft glow, but the bedsheet was a mess.

Ye Shuya bit Su Yao's shoulder, tears falling from her eyes, "Su Yao, it hurts."

Su Yao was obviously surprised too, his face showing an apologetic expression, "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was your first time."

He stopped.

Su Yao was suppressing his emotions, his voice hoarse as he asked, "Will he mind?"

She didn't know what Qin Wei would think, but she only knew that she wished to be one with Su Yao at that moment, moaning, "Su Yao, I want it."

Su Yao's gaze instantly deepened, the flames of desire in his eyes crackling into a wildfire.

The two on the bed enjoyed the most primitive pleasure like Adam and Eve tasting the forbidden fruit. On Su Yao, Ye Shuya felt that even if she were to descend into hell right now, she would do so willingly.

Su Yao was a rose with irresistible charm, beautiful and enchanting. After tasting it once, even knowing it was wrong, she wanted to keep making the same mistake.
