Ambers pov
"Good morning miss amber" Stacey greeted seeing me work into my office.
"Any appointment for today" I sat down on my very comfortable chair as I place my bag on my desk before resuming to work. "Miss amber you have a meeting with the lumina corporation" Stacey said while searching for other appointment.
"Leave the lumina meeting to David, what else is on my schedule". "A meeting with the board in fifteen meeting ma". "Is that all" I asked with my attention still focused on my screen. "Yes ma that all for today" she replied. "Then you may take your leave" i raised my head to take peek at her before taking my attention back to my work.
I picked up the necessary things I would be needing for the meeting, while Stacey took the remaining, before heading to the hall where the meeting was to be held.
Everyone rose up in acknowledgement of my presence as they always do. I went to my sit wearing a straight face. My seat was positioned at the beginning of the long table making me the head of the table.
"Miss amber we all know you have a reason in declining the business deal with helix corporation, but if only we can make this deal possible we would have a lot to gain. This company is one of the top five, so having the backing of such a huge company on our side could skyrocket our company to the top"Mr sage a middle age man in his late fifties said. "Yes Mr sage is right" most of the board members agreed with mr sage suggestion.
"I would do my best in rearranging a meeting with the helix coropration" I reassured even though I don't want to have any business deal with the helix corporation.
"Does anyone else have anything else to say" I asked, while looking for anyone who has anything else to say. "Yes Mr Lucas, you look like you have something to say" everyone stared at Mr Lucas after what I said.
"Uhmm....Well, He cleared his throat. We the board members were thinking, why don't you enlighten us about your plans about any business meeting before taking any action whether in accepting or declining any of them" he said while avoiding my gaze. I could hear some silent affirmation within the board members.
"Can we establish some ground rules for our discussion so everyone is heard and respected" I said in a slightly annoyed tone.
"Rules what type of rules, Mr Lucas didn't say anything to warrant a rule in a board meeting, did he?" Mr sage said in a manner which I considered disrespectful.
"That's a pretty dumb question. I'm the acting CEO of this company, so you and everyone in this room needs to respect that. I may be young but I have common sense in handling business than SOME people, so please do not teach me how to do my job" I emphasized on the word some.
"But amber..." Lind tried to chip in some things which I wasn't ready to hear. "Meeting adjourned. One more thing Linda it is miss amber not amber" I shunned.
*** In her office***
"Stacey could you rearrange a meeting with the helix company" I asked once I was seated. "Yes ma'am I would do that right away". 'Is there anything else on my schedule after the board meeting" I asked while taking little sips of my coffee that was brought in a few minutes ago. "Yes my a meeting with your father at your favorite restaurant" she replied.
"What is a meeting with my father doing in my work schedule" I asked in surprise. "Well he called and asked I out him in your schedule this evening, since you are too busy to visit him at home" Stacey explained. "Fine. Thank you Stacey" I said as I signalled for her to leave. I did all the works I had at hand, since it was evening and I had to go to the meeting I'm to have with my father. I closed up for the day.
*** Restaurant ***
"Hi dad" I greeted him as he pulled in into an embrace. "How have you been dad?" I asked. "I have been how you left me" he said as we both laughed. "How is Ethan doing?". Yeah I do have a brother.
Most of you are wondering who this girl is?. My name is Amber swayer, a daughter to Mr Logan swayer and sister to Ethan sawyer. I'm 23yrs for all those wondering. I'm just four years older than my brother. Of course he is my junior brother. Emily swayer, my mother she was such a sweet soul but we lost her to cancer which she has been fight against for 20yrs. So we are just a family of three. I'm managing my dads company till my brother (Ethan) is of age to handle such a big company on his own. Back to where we are.
" Ethan, he is doing well. By the way he is in France on a business meeting with edger" he said as collected the menu to order for himself
