Elizabeth's POV
I had been over the moon since Sally accepted to meet with me. I told her my location and quickly got up to get ready.
As I stood up abruptly, I felt quite faint.I didn't understand how I had been feeling lately for a few weeks. I have tried to hide it from Maggie who constantly pestered me to tell her if I was feeling unwell.
I always waved away her concerns and she had stopped asking me but always watching me closely like a mother hen.
What was actually wrong with me? I have never been sick and as a general rule, werewolves were not prone to illnesses.
The only sickness I know about was when I was in heat. Or was I feeling like this because my wolf had left me after Sebastian rejected us? What actually could be wrong?
Bathing quickly to get set to receive Sally, I finished in less than ten minutes. I went to my wardrobe to select something to wear.
Looking inside, I saw my clothes still neatly arranged the way I had left them. Love for my aunt grew. I can't believe she kept everything. I was so grateful.
I selected a simple floral dress with sandals. There was no need to dress up since we were just sitting around the house.
I walked over to the dressing table and sat down to look at myself. I was grateful I have not added any weight. I was still the same, the only change I could see was my eyes, they had become a dull Violet color, still beautiful but the silver flecks had dimmed.
My hair was still a vibrant red color, fuller and longer. The reflection that looked back at me was that of a woman, who had gone through a lot. Goddess, show me the way, where do I go from here?
I chose a random lipstick from the cosmetic bag on the table .
"Let me just give a gloss to my lips, they look kind of pale."
I thought looking closely at my once beautiful lush lips. While in Blood Moon Pack, there was never any need for makeup.
While applying the lipstick, I suddenly felt light headed and everything went black.
Author's POV
A knock at the door made everyone in Fiona's living room raise their heads.
"Who could that be, were you expecting anyone dear?" Charles looked at his wife busy with her laptop.
" No honey. Please could you check who is at the door?" Fiona replied .
"Okay."
Charles walked to the door and checked to see who it was.
He raised his brows when he saw who it was. Sally?
He opened the door. "Hi dear, how are you? It's been so long." He greeted Sally hugging her.
"Hello Uncle Charles. I missed you." Sally returned his greeting.
" Come" He led the way into the living room.
" Hi Aunt Fiona," Sally whispered when she saw her. Surprised at the small voice, Fiona turned around.
" Sally? Where have you been? You just disappeared. I looked for you everywhere." Fiona reprimanded .
"Sorry Aunt, I went away to school. I could not stay here. I missed her too much."
Sally said still feeling hurt from what she thought was Elizabeth's abandonment
"Oh my baby, sorry, there are somethings you don't understand, you will someday. I hope you don't blame Elizabeth? Forgive her, okay. She has been through a lot."
Sally nodded. "Where is she , Aunt? We agreed to meet here.
"If so, she must be in her room. Check on her please. You know the way."
Sally went up to check on Elizabeth while Fiona and Charles looked on.
"Poor thing, she must have been hurt when Elizabeth left without a word. I have always regarded her as family." Charles said, shaking his head with a smile and going back to his phone.
"I love that girl as much as I love Elizabeth, from the first day Elizabeth brought her home. I just hope they settle their differences." Fiona said with a look in her gray eyes.
"Don't worry dear, they will, they love each other." Charles said encouraging his wife.
Sally went up to Elizabeth's room looking around. She felt nostalgic . The last time she had been here was on the night of the prom party when she and Matt had come to pick Elizabeth up. It all felt like years ago. And Matt…? Can she forget him?
They had all disappeared on her without a word. Where had they gone? No matter how she looked, she had not been able to find them . It was as if they disappeared from the face of the earth.
There was no one around, where was she?
"Elizabeth? " Sally called out. Where are you? I am here already!"
She continued to look around. Could she still be in the bathroom? But there is no sound coming from there..
"Elizabeth….?" She called again and yelled when her sandaled feet encountered the still figure of Elizabeth lying fully dressed on the floor in a very unusual position.
"Aunt! Uncle!" Sally yelled from upstairs.
Fiona and Charles, who were engrossed in whatever they were doing, jerked at Sally's shout. Even Maggie who had been in the kitchen came out running.
What's happening? They all looked at each other. As Sally continued to yell for Aunt Fiona, that was when the three people ran upstairs panting.
"What is the problem, Sally? Why are you shouting?"
Charles and Fiona asked in unison, stopping short when they saw her squatting on the floor.
"Elizabeth? What's wrong?" They all ran to Elizabeth, trying to shake her awake.
"Luna? What's wrong, child? What happened to her?" Maggie asked Sally cradling Elizabeth in her arms.
"I found her lying there when I came in just now," Sally said with a frown.
This was not the scenario she had been expecting when she came. She was ready to confront Elizabeth with many questions.
With a frown, she looked at her friend,
she had never known her to be sick so what was wrong with her?
"Move aside, let's get her to the hospital, Charles, get the car , Maggie, quickly," Fiona took charge .
Charles quickly went back to get the car ready.
Fiona heaved Elizabeth into her arms as if she were a baby and moved quickly to the door.
Sally, shocked at how powerful Aunt Fiona was , stood aside looking on.
Maggie gave a small smile at the girl's expression. She must not know who we truly are.
"Let's go child, we must follow them"
Maggie quickly ushered Sally out, locking the doors to the house and following Fiona to the SUV outside the house.
Charles was already at the wheel and the car was steaming.
Fiona put Elizabeth in the back seat with
Maggie and Fiona cradling her between. And off they went to the only big hospital in town… St John's.
"What could be wrong with Luna? Could it be what I have been suspecting? Oh goddess, let it be…"
Maggie prayed silently while the car moved on….
