"Are you sure this will work?"
Sasuke squatted near Boruto's unconscious body, casting a skeptical glance at Naruto. His expression practically screamed, Are you messing with me?
"Of course, he'll wake up right away," Naruto said confidently, flashing Sasuke a reassuring grin. "How could I harm my own son?"
While the two squatted over Boruto, Konohamaru's anguished screams echoed across the training grounds. Sasuke facepalmed with a heavy sigh.
This Naruto is so unreliable, he thought. Just as Sasuke was about to check Boruto, the little yellow-haired boy suddenly sat bolt upright.
"Eh?! Mr. Sasuke? Dad?"
Boruto's face was a mix of confusion and shock. Moments ago, he was venting to his grandmother… how was he back here?! Was that a dream? Or was this?
Boruto glanced at his father but quickly looked away, avoiding Naruto's eyes. Naruto didn't notice Boruto's unease. His attention was on the battered, white-haired old man limping towards them.
"Traitor!" Jiraiya bellowed, his swollen eyes narrowed to slits. His pig-like face was bruised beyond recognition.
Jiraiya's gait was unsteady, but his determination was unwavering.
"Today, I'll beat you to death!"
Naruto's eyes widened as Jiraiya lumbered closer, spouting accusations and threats of familial annihilation. He had clearly had a rough day.
Apparently, Jiraiya had only intended to nap but got beaten up by Tsunade, who wrongly assumed he'd been spying on the women's bathhouse.
And Jiraiya knew exactly who had stirred Tsunade's wrath: his blonde-haired disciple. Seeing Jiraiya's expression, Naruto sighed, quickly shrugging off his coat and tossing it over Boruto.
"Sorry, son," Naruto muttered, opening a light gate and dragging Nakadashi away. "The sins of the father… Just take the blame for me this once. Forgive me, it's the last time… probably."
Before Boruto could comprehend what was happening, Naruto and Sasuke vanished.
"Traitor! Look at what you've done, kid!"
Jiraiya wasted no time. He grabbed Boruto by the collar, his strong arms effortlessly pinning the boy to the ground.
"Wait! You've got the wrong person!" Boruto protested.
But Jiraiya, consumed by rage, wasn't listening. "Shut up, traitor! Today, you're learning your lesson!"
With that, he brought his palm down hard on Boruto's backside.
"Ahh! Stop! I'm not Uzumaki Naruto!"
"Silence! Still trying to deceive your master?!"
Boruto's cries only fueled Jiraiya's intensity.
The blows kept coming, each one landing harder than the last. Boruto's physique, far from matching his father's durability, couldn't withstand the punishment. Within minutes, he fainted.
"Pretending to pass out, huh?" Jiraiya grumbled, smacking Boruto even harder.
From a hidden vantage point, Naruto winced. Seeing his son on the brink of collapse, he finally intervened.
Half an hour later,
Naruto prepared a hot pot in the training grounds as a peace offering. Jiraiya sat contentedly, sipping sake while his bruises healed, courtesy of Naruto's medicinal paste.
Meanwhile, Konohamaru and Boruto sat nearby, both nursing swollen faces and broken pride. Naruto's left and right were occupied by Sasuke and Uchiha Xiao Yan, strategically placed to prevent any potential conflict.
Several of Naruto's shadow clones sat around as well, dressed in bizarre costumes. One clone, dressed as a star warrior, loudly praised the Emperor with every bite of meat.
Naruto shook his head.
"So?" he asked, breaking the awkward silence.
"You believe Boruto's my future son now?"
Jiraiya's jaw dropped as he stared at Boruto. "This boy? Your son?! How could your kid have such a fragile constitution?!"
Naruto waved dismissively, too tired to explain further. "Yeah, yeah. That's about right. Let's eat."
After a few bites, Naruto realized something was missing. He opened a light gate and fetched Boruto's mother, Hinata, in her childhood form.
For good measure, he brought along Neji, much to the latter's dismay.
"Mother?!" Boruto's tear-streaked face lit up when he saw young Hinata. He ran toward her, hoping for sympathy.
But Neji, already irritated by the situation, tripped Boruto mid-run. "If you shout again,"
Neji threatened coldly, "I'll kill you."
"Uncle Neji?!" Boruto exclaimed, stunned.
"You dare call me uncle?!" Neji's veins bulged as he unleashed his Gentle Fist Technique: Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms on the boy.
Meanwhile, high above Konoha Village, Otsutsuki Urashiki hovered, clutching his fishing hook and scanning the area.
"Hehehe… Seventh Hokage, you're strong. But if I can travel back in time and find you at your weakest, what will you do?"
Urashiki's sinister laughter echoed as he locked onto the gathering of yellow-haired individuals on the village's east side. Among them, two familiar figures caught his eye.
"Tch! Didn't expect those two pests to tag along."
