Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: Uzumaki Naruto Has Yet to Realize the Seriousness of the Problem

Boom!

In the training ground, Gamabunta chased the yellow-haired boy, swinging a giant knife at him.

Luckily, the Third Hokage had passed away, and Tsunade, unaware of the current chaos, had taken his place.

As a result, the warning the Third Hokage had given Naruto had become meaningless.

"Ahhhh!!!"

"Brother Konohamaru! What are you doing?! Are you trying to kill me?!"

Boruto's face was pale with fear, and tears streamed down his cheeks as he ran frantically.

He couldn't comprehend how Konohamaru's idea of training to become stronger had led to this insane scenario.

Every time Gamabunta's knife came down, images of his deceased grandparents flashed before Boruto's eyes.

Looking at his father, who was casually watching from the sidelines, Boruto wailed even louder.

"Dad, save me!! Hurry up and stop Konohamaru-sama!!"

Boruto's cries would tug at anyone's heartstrings. But instead of showing concern, Naruto seemed to enjoy the spectacle, the snacks in his hand tasting even better as he watched.

Standing nearby were Sasuke and Brother Bo Bing. Brother Bo Bing appeared disgruntled, likely plotting ways to deal with Konohamaru.

Moreover, he looked uncomfortable standing next to Zhongdeng, worried that Konohamaru might suddenly call him "Brother Bo Bing."

Sasuke, on the other hand, was deeply concerned. Who in their right mind would use a summoned beast for training?

Gamabunta was so massive that if he accidentally stepped on Boruto, there would be no easy way to explain it to Naruto.

Sasuke turned to Naruto, who was still munching on melon seeds.

"Naruto… are you sure… that nothing bad will happen?"

Strictly speaking, Boruto wasn't Naruto's son in this timeline, but even so, this was going too far.

"Nothing will happen," Naruto said nonchalantly.

"That's exactly how Konohamaru trained, too."

Naruto was thoroughly entertained by the scene.

Besides, Boruto was experiencing this for free. If Himawari had been in Boruto's place, Naruto might have shown a hint of fatherly love—maybe.

Naruto's gaze shifted to Konohamaru, who was standing beside Gamabunta, laughing uncontrollably. His nose tingled with emotion.

So this is how he's passing down the Will of Fire. I get it now!

"Boruto! Why are you crying?! What's with the tears? Do you think you'll become stronger by crying?! Don't run! Charge toward Bunta!"

Konohamaru's serious expression was betrayed by his shaking shoulders, evidence of his barely contained laughter.

In his mind, he recalled the harsh training he had endured under Naruto's guidance. Passing on this "legacy" to Boruto filled him with pride.

"Dad! Save me!! Sasuke-san, save me!!"

Desperate, Boruto tried appealing to Naruto's fatherly instincts. But to his horror, his father responded with an encouraging thumbs-up instead.

Uzumaki Boruto: ...

Someone, please save me! I should never have followed Otsutsuki Urashiki here. This place is even more dangerous than facing Urashiki himself!

Bang!

As Boruto lamented his life choices, a loud noise filled the air. Darkness swallowed his vision, and he lost consciousness.

Naruto's smile froze when he saw Gamabunta's foot come down on Boruto. Tossing his snack aside, he rushed forward, shouting to Brother Bo Bing, "Konohamaru's been slacking lately. Go handle him. Just don't kill him."

"Got it!"

Uchiha Xiao Yan's eyes glimmered as a blue light flashed. In an instant, he disappeared.

Naruto and Sasuke arrived at Boruto's side. Sasuke checked Boruto's pulse, his expression grim.

"He's dead?!"

"Not a big deal," Naruto said calmly.

Sasuke: ???

Not a big deal?! He's dead!

Sasuke's mind raced, envisioning the horror of breaking the news to Naruto later. But Naruto, unfazed, pulled out an immortal totem and pressed it against Boruto's lifeless body.

…..

Pure Land

Boruto stirred awake, finding himself lying on an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room. From outside the door came the comforting sounds of cooking.

"Strange… was that all just a dream?"

Relieved, he chuckled, throwing off the quilt and stepping out of bed. Everything—the weird dad, Sasuke-san, and Brother Konohamaru—must've been his imagination.

But as he stepped into the hallway, he froze. In the kitchen, a red-haired woman was cooking. Her back seemed oddly familiar.

Startled by his presence, the woman turned around, spatula in hand, and smiled warmly.

"Naruto, you're awake! Breakfast will be ready soon, so sit tight."

Kushina's tenderness overflowed as she looked at Boruto. She had heard rumors about a technique that allowed people from the living world to visit the Pure Land.

Overjoyed, she thought her son had come to see her.

Boruto's pupils widened in shock. Grandmother?!

"What's wrong, Naruto?"

Kushina approached, concerned. But as Boruto gazed up at her, his emotions overwhelmed him.

"Grandma!! I'm so miserable!!"

Kushina blinked in confusion. What's happening? Didn't I just hear Naruto was doing fine up there?

"Wait a minute! You're not Naruto?!"

Boruto wiped his tears, explaining through hiccups, "I'm Uzumaki Boruto… Naruto's son."

He poured out his grievances, from his turbulent life to the insane training Konohamaru had subjected him to. Kushina's head spun with the flood of information.

"Not bad!" she finally exclaimed. "Naruto actually managed to win over the Hyuga family's daughter!"

"Grandma!" Boruto shouted in exasperation.

Kushina ruffled his hair gently. "Don't worry, Boruto. If I see Naruto, I'll give him a piece of my mind."

Boruto grinned, reassured. But deep down, he wondered if his grandmother would really discipline her precious son. Or would she just shower him with love instead?
