Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Cursed Duo

In the vast expanse of the unknown, a grand castle floats amidst the endless void of the universe, its ancient stone walls radiating an eerie glow as it drifts in solitude. Each of its towering rooms holds massive, intricately designed doors, each one a gateway to a different mystery. At the heart of this castle stands an imposing, even grander door—larger and more magnificent than the rest.

As the door creaks open, a vast throne room is revealed. The atmosphere is thick with an overwhelming sense of authority and power. At the center of this room, on a throne carved from dark stone, sits a figure of immense size, radiating an aura that commands respect. He has gold eyes shining brightly and pale white skin with silver hair up to his shoulders. His posture is casual yet commanding—one leg resting over the other, his body reclined in a way that suggests both ease and absolute dominion. His mere presence fills the room with an unshakable vibe of dominance.

Before this throne, a lone man stands. He is small in comparison to the giant figure on the throne. His blond hair catches the faint light of the room, his brown eyes glinting with quiet determination. His white skin is marked with the wear of battles fought and survived. This man is Thorfinn, and though he stands on the ground, dwarfed by the immense presence of the one before him, he remains unwavering. He gazes up silently, a look of respect etched into his expression as if waiting for something—an order.

The giant man sighed as he fixed his gaze on Thorfinn. "So, they've both finally been reborn, huh? It's been such a long time since I last saw them. I want to see them now, urgently, but it would only make things worse."

"Yes, I believe, as Your Majesty said, they've both reached a rank no one could have attained at such a young age. In my opinion, they are the ones you've been searching for," Thorfinn replied.

"It should be them. They died because of me once... and have died more than a million times in each timeline. But this time, the goddess of fate and the god of time have offered their help, so they might finally defeat the one who cursed them in this timeline."

"I see. Now, I will be going, Your Majesty, and I'll take care of it from here."

"Well, make sure they stay safe and alive. I owe them a lot."

Well, no spoilers—just like them, I am also listening to what they are talking about, and I forgot this is the Celestial_Creator, not Levi. I've been reading the book in front of me, and there's something strange about it—sometimes I hear two voices coming out of the book, one male and the other female.

Well, not that I care too much about it, but in my opinion, I think those voices are the past lives of Levi and Lyra that the unknown giant god mentioned. I'm also curious about who they want to defeat. I'm just an author in name, and that's all I remembered when I woke up, so I don't know much. The thing is, I'm curious—why would someone need to put a curse on them? What could they have done to die so many times? I'm trying my best to focus on the story to find out, so make sure you're paying attention, too. Okay, bye for now.

[POV: Lyra]

I don't know why, but ever since I met Levi at the party, I've been plagued by these recurring dreams. They're vivid, almost too real to be simple visions. In them, I see a boy with jet-black hair and striking purple eyes, his gaze filled with sorrow and desperation. He kneels in front of a lifeless body, tears streaming down his face, yet I can never fully see either of their faces. It's as if some unseen force is censoring them, keeping their identities hidden from me. Every time I try to focus on who they are, the image blurs, as though reality itself is being rewritten.

These dreams have been coming to me every single night, relentless and haunting. But they don't stop there. Sometimes, the scene shifts, and I see the same boy, his expression now twisted with fury, engaged in an epic battle with someone else. The details of his opponent remain just as obscured, yet the raw intensity of their fight shakes me to my core.

The scale of their battle is beyond comprehension—every blow they exchange is cataclysmic. Each punch sends shockwaves across dimensions, causing entire galaxies and universes to shatter as if they were nothing more than fragile glass. Worlds crumble, stars die, and the very fabric of existence is torn apart with each impact. It's not just a fight; it's a war between forces that are beyond mortal understanding, like gods clashing in a battle of supremacy.

The dreams leave me breathless, and I wake up drenched in sweat, my heart racing as though I've been there, right in the middle of the destruction. It feels like more than just a dream, like a memory—or a warning. And with every passing night, I find myself questioning what these visions mean. Who is the boy? Why do I feel such a strong connection to him? And why does it all seem tied to Levi, as though meeting him was the catalyst for these nightmarish visions?

I can't shake the feeling that these dreams are trying to tell me something—something important. But what?

It's been six years since then, and I haven't seen Levi since. We've been far apart, and honestly, I don't have any interest in him anymore. My only focus now is to kill the AbyssWalker. Over the years, I've improved a lot, but there's one obstacle that stands in the way: the Gate of Ascension.

The Gate of Ascension is a colossal barrier that blocks the path of anyone trying to reach Aureth, the realm beyond. Because of this gate, many people remain trapped in Xerion forever, unable to move forward. Only after breaking through it can someone finally ascend to Aureth. For most, this gate is an impossible challenge, the final hurdle on the road to true power.

But for me, with my enhanced physique, I thought it would be easy—I just needed to push the door open. However, due to some... skill issues, it ended up taking me a whole month to break through.

Okay, now for the next part—let's talk about the reward I got from the system. Yeah, I know, I get rewards for completing missions, but here's the weird part: whether I succeed or fail, I still get rewards. Strange, right? It's like the system doesn't even care about the outcome.

I mean, who designs something like this? You'd think failing would come with some consequences, but nope—rewards just keep coming, regardless. It's almost too easy, which makes me think the system has some serious skill issues.

The reward from the party I got is a sword. Not just any sword—it's this sleek, red-colored weapon, and what makes it so unique is that it actually grows stronger by consuming cores from Hollows. Yeah, you heard that right. It literally feeds on them, evolving with each one it absorbs.

The system is definitely odd, but honestly, I think it's pretty good overall. Still, I can't shake this feeling that I'm being manipulated by it, pushed toward something… and I have no idea what that something is. It's subtle, like it's rewarding me not just for completing tasks, but for keeping me moving in a specific direction, following its lead. The more I think about it, the more it feels like there's an agenda behind the system's generosity.
