Inside the unending, chaotic Abyss, lay a piece of order in the form of the Nine Hells.
In the lowest layer of the Nine Hells, resided the Devils, standing (Or in Sloth's case, sitting) at the pinnacle of power.
In the highest layer of the Nine Hells, a terrifying view could be seen, as the red sky bore witness to a brutal slaughter under it.
This was the layer with the highest Demon population, as well as the weakest.
The moment a Demon finishes gestation and emerges from the Lake of Samsara, it is forced to fight it's kind for survival.
Atop a rock close to the Lake of Samsara, a small demon could be seen tearing into another's throat with it's teeth, as it's barbed tail slashed it over and over.
Devouring another heart, the nameless demon is immediately forced into another fight as the madness continues.
Suddenly, the Lake of Samsara shines, and time stops for all but one young demon.
Immediately, it feels the crisis in it's soul, despite being a newborn.
Something was taking over it's body!
It's very essence was being replaced!
It felt itself being drawn into an unkown space, where it faced a bipedal, less threatening demon without wings, claws, or a tail.
It immediately leapt at it, and tore it's throat out, before devouring it.
It felt the sensation of losing control slowing down, and finally stopping, as the weird devil under it lost it's life.
A flood of memories and unkown knowledge entered the nameless demon's mind, as a cheerful voice sounded in the void.
"Transmigration complete! We hope you have a pleasant experience using our services."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The demon's eyes snap open as it returns to it's body, 20 years of memories crammed into it's head.
It barely dodged a flying demon aiming to tear out it's- no, HIS throat.
He grabbed the demon by the tail, before using it to hit another demon mid-air.
He had learnt much of his current world through the memories of Jace Watson, the weak demon- the human it had killed.
His world was but a novel to Jace, a story to be read.
After living a worthless life full of sin, and dying shamefully in the midst of perverted actions, Jace received his transmigration offer for reasons unknown to him.
He chose to be reborn as a demon with some special perks.
Firstly, a soul, untouched by the Sin of the demon.
Secondly, an increase in divinity tolerance, the bane of demons.
Thirdly, a special ability that did not exist in the novel.
What Jace had not expected, was for the newborn demon's will to be stronger than his own, leading their souls to clash.
Despite the demon's soul being newly created, Jace did not win.
After living a pathetic life of cowardice, he met with a pathetic death twice.
The demon accepted it's new reality exceedingly fast.
It- no, he-had to adapt, to change and grow stronger.
He established his sense of self, giving himself an identity.
He did not name himself, for he now knew from the novel, that names held power.
He would much rather wait for a stronger being to name him.
He went over the contents of the novel in his mind.
In Jace's world, it had been mediocre, and poorly written.
A main character that only won through the power of friendship, the plot itself being so forced, it may as well be held at- gun point, he believed it was called?
Demons were at war with humans and gods, although humans were too meagre to really be called a major power.
Until the gods allied with them, of course.
The nameless demon went through every single bit of information, as it ruthlessly dismantled every creature near it.
Soon, empty zones were being formed in the birthing ground, each empty zone being centred around a particularly strong demon, the nameless demon himself being one.
The demons scattered as they felt the Lake of Samsara stir once more, ready to birth another generation of demons.
The nameless demon, aided by bits of knowledge gathered from Jace's memory and his own instinct, decided to head away from the darkened and unknown woods in the North.
He searched for shelter, a cave would be the best choice.
Soon, he encountered one at the base of a cliff, but he understood it must be occupied by a strong demon already.
Instead of giving up, he schemed and plotted as the false sun in the sky began it's descent.
He went to the top of the hill, and began piling stones and boulders right above the cave.
He kept it as precariously as he could, ready to drop it all on a moment's notice.
During this time, he killed and ate two of more demons that had attacked him.
As the darkness enveloped the first layer of Hell, sounds began erupting from everywhere.
Squeals, shrieks, roars and hisses.
The inhabitant of the cave he had been targetting, hissed.
A bloodthirsty aura was felt as the snake looking demon slithered out of it's cave, unaware of the huge mass of rocks above it.
With an eerie smile, the demon pushed the rock mound down.
The snake demon barely had time to turn it's head up, when it's head was squashed under the pile of rocks.
Immediately, the nameless demon flung himself off the cliff, his wings flapping awkwardly to just keep him from landing as a pancake.
He quickly began devouring the snake demon, ready to flee at all times.
His vigilance pays off, as he quickly ended his feast with the heart of the snake demon, and ran away from the corpse, just in time for multiple large demons to appear, attracted by the smell of intense demonic energy being released from the snake's corpse.
Feeling the dense demonic energy withing him, the demon smiled as he knew humans did.
This was....Joy.
He slowed his pace, ready to face attacks from anywhere.
He thought about the strength of the Gods, and the Devils, and felt the Greed within him stir, as it was the Sin he was born with.
He could feel that it held no hold over him, but right now, it synchronized with his ambitions.
As he ran into the night, he declared his goal to himself mentally.
He wanted the power of the Devils, and the Gods.
He wanted everything.
He wanted...to become absolute.
