As for the civilians on the surface, they probably wouldn't be evacuated since the explosion happened in the sky. However, even if they evacuated, they must first ask the permission of the android that lived in an underground city, do they deem this event as a disaster event that could affect humanity? If not the government wouldn't even contact the android with the authority that ruled the underground city known as Sanctuary across the planet.
As far as I know, there were also bunkers built for temporary use as well on the surface. Therefore even if the android refused to help civilians, the sectors 2 dome's government could use those bunkers.
At that moment, as the crowd rushed toward the exit, Stella who wore a hoodie, mask and sunglasses to conceal her identity, went against the flow and headed toward the elevator instead as I was being forced to follow closely behind her. It was the closest route toward the docking bay in the floor below, but it was still too far.
Then several security guards noticed us and pressed against the crowd to chase after me and Stella. At that moment I subconsciously realized that I got caught up in a mess, the security department on this island must thought of me as the one who planted the bomb on the bus.
It had been a decade since a terrorist attack occurred in the Singa sanctuary continent, therefore my face as a suspect would pop up everywhere soon.
However I had an idea of the real culprit, it was those creepy masked men. They probably committed suicide to gain attention or deliver any message they wanted to come across to the public, after all, I saw this kind of action committed by terrorists in almost every movie and fiction I had read and watched.
At the moment, I also didn't know where she was leading me. Perhaps it was better to turn myself into the security guards so that they knew I didn't do anything suspicious and I didn't run because I wasn't guilty.
Therefore, I shouted at Stella as the alarm and noise from the crowd were getting louder "It is better to turn myself in so they won't think I am guilty."
She swiftly turned to look at me with a disapproving look and told me "Don't be an idiot, they immediately try to knock you off unconsciously without even asking why you jumped from that bus. Something is off about this..." She bites her lips with frustration and continues to lead me toward the elevator.
Thinking about it, the first two guards didn't even try to warn me and immediately shot the laser taster that could heavily damage my organ,
-Are they trying to silence me? If so why do they do that when the station had multiple security cameras installed throughout the building, even with me gone, the police would still know who was the culprit by checking the security cameras. This is strange..- I pondered.
After we arrived at the entrance of the elevator shrouded in white aluminum, one of the security guards who managed to almost catch up to us shouted in a distorted voice that came from his helmet stereo "Where are you taking him, Stella? It is dangerous!"
When I turned to look at him, I saw a tall man with a black vet and security helmet covering his face but I could see two silver lines on the badge on his shoulder meaning that he must be one of the leaders in charge of securing this station. The silver line represents the leader ranks of the security guard of the bus station, yet he rushed in to chase after me alone and even warned me instead of using the teaser gun! Something was off about this situation.
She briefly looked back but quickly turned to click on the holographic button display before the elevator without even paying attention to the security guard who called out to her, despite knowing him.
Surprisingly, a notification display before us from the elevator holographic projection warned us "The elevator is temporarily closed in case of emergency, forcing it to open will result in electrify."
Eventually, she let go of my hand and told me "Let's take the passageway to the docking bay and don't even answer that security guard, it is a waste of time."
I nodded my head since I knew she must had a reason that I didn't know, and then she proceeded to turn right and entered the entrance that led to an underground parking lot.
"I don't want to take this passage since there might be a few security guards on guard, however, I have no choice," Stella said without looking at me as if she was talking to herself.
As I was sprinting before her, I couldn't help but notice her physical endurance and agility were very impressive. I knew she was very athletic despite her slim and average looks, but to thought that she could run without even breaking a sweat. I barely caught a breath as we got into the passage like a tunnel made of aluminum with blue ambient light in a straight line on either side to illuminate the path.
There were also a few people coming from the opposite direction of the corner up ahead, most of them seemed like a worker of this station, they wore a confused look as three security guards led them in the front toward the main hall.
One of the security guards raised his head to stop us and said "Hey blondie and miss in hoodie, you are not permitted to proceed further, it is dangerous since we don't know where the terrorist will attack next."
It was strange that besides the two security guards that defended the fence of the bus and immediately tried to harm me, another security guard act professionally and reasonably.
At the same time, he paused as if he was listening to something inside his helmet, probably an order from his higher-up.
"I am sorry to both of you, but this is an order." The security guard changed his tone to a stern voice.
I shouted to Stella knowing what he was trying to do "Evade it!"
She knew what was coming as well, because immediately after I warned her, she pushed me to the side and she leaped onto the other side, now both of us lying on the ground with shocked expressions as this security guard pulled out his taser laser gun to shoot at us, in a blink of eyes I could take a glimpse of blue electric projected in a straight line flew past me toward the wall, leaving a black mark on it.
God damn it, I had bad days one after another. From the encountered with the Orc demon lord, the knowledge about the divine judgement, and now even terrorist attack.
I shouted at him with a face filled with shock "What crime do we commit? Using a firearm against civilian is a crime worthy of lifetime prison, you know!"
He didn't reply and instead re-aimed his laser taster gun directly at me and was about to pull the trigger but I once again risked it all to activate my bio-chip to increase my agility. My blue eyes glowing in even more intense blue light, allowing my vision to saw everything in more vivid detail.
My heart beat faster than ever before like it wanted to escape my chest but I could see his movement become slower, so I quickly stood up and tried to snatch the gun from him but I remembered a law about criminal offense I read.
Amendment 38 of criminal law, stated that disarming a weapon from the security guard and police would be considered a crime, so I momentarily hesitant despite his taser gun being right front of me.
Surprisingly the taser gun flew from his hand as Stella used her right feet to kick his hand like she was in some sort of action movie.
"Why are you hesitant to disarm him? Never mind, Keep running." She shouted at me with disappointment.
"But we are breaking the law!" I said to her.
At this point, we were breaking the law for real. My dream and opportunity of becoming a judge would be bury forever if I had a criminal record.
When my sense of time returned to normal indicated the bio-data-chip had disactivated, I felt a heavy heartache and tried to take a deep breath as I coughed violently and I could felt my body was heating.
"There is no time thinking about it, fuck the law! Sometimes you can be such a naive person, once in a while try not to be rational in irrational situation." She took hold of my hand and also picked up the gun then dragged me to continue running with her.
Her words made sense, I had nothing to respond to her and just tried to match her speed as she was leading me.
The other two security guards seem to not know what to do seeing their team leader defeated by a seemingly average-looking girl but they immediately withdraw their taser guns and aim at us causing the civilians and workers that they escort to scream and panic.
Fortunately one of the civilians even screamed at him "They are just innocent teenagers!"
The two other guards seem confused and hesitate to shoot until their team leader shouts "Shoot at them, they are breaking the law by stealing my weapon!"
They could break the law but I couldn't? So this was how it felt like to face injustice.
Shit, I knew this time I wouldn't be able to avoid the taser laser, the reason why I escaped it in the first place was due to luck but now there were two of them aiming at me and Stella!
However, another voice could be heard from the entrance of the passageway. It was none other than the second-in-rank leader of the security guards that knew Stella's name.
The man shouted, "Stop, don't shoot!"
When I looked back to find this voice, I also saw the two other guards immediately lowering their weapons.
The security guard who lost his weapon shouted back "But sir, she is stealing my weapon and it is an order from higher up."
The second-in-rank leader said in a stern voice "I am in charge of this entire station, you are just a team leader. So listen to my order or you will face punishment. This is a direct order from me as a captain."
The security guard team leader flinches and steps back, making a way for this man.
Then he called for Stella once again "Stella, are you betraying the organization?" his words caused her to pause and turn back to him.
She took a deep breath and replied "The plan isn't to kill people aboard the bus, but why do they have to do it?"
The man clad in black armor replied "To cause chaos to stir the negative karma and narrative energy, blood must be shed."
She bites her teeth with anger yet replies in a calm voice despite her visible anger "Andrew! You are not who you used to be, where is your justice?"
So his name was Andrew? It seems like she also knew him for a long time but that also made me knew him since me and Stella lived in the same orphanage before, that being said why are so many crazy things that are unexplainable happening to me? My sense of reality was really being challenge.
Andrew stepped forward but Stella pointed the taser laser gun at him saying "Don't take another step or I will shoot."
The man in black armor halted and said "You know you can't defy the organization and Genie, not even your brother who is the first betrayal among us. The higher up will send people to hunt for you, now just hand over that fake and foolish Blondie to me. His awakening is near! Once he becomes the destroyer, no one can stop him."
Awakening?
Stella looked at me and pushed me to be behind her, but I shook my head and made a serious face that I would stand beside her not being protected or afraid to get hurt either.
