"Why are you calling me? What do you want?" the receiver at the other end asked, as Evelyn sensed anger in his voice.
"You don't have to sound this way, my love," she said, chuckling. " I have been trying to see you for a while, and I miss working with you. Please, let me see you just once. I have a job for you."
After a long pause, he said, "Okay, let's meet tomorrow." he then hung up.
She wondered why he had become so strict, which was very unlike him. She didn't ask further questions, but she knew something was wrong and she needed to address it, before it would affect the work they had.
"Mummy, how are you feeling today?" After the whole discussion the previous day, she slept off and they all went to their houses to take a very long peaceful rest.
