The next morning, Alex sat at his desk, sipping his coffee and going over the day's schedule. His mind kept drifting back to Sophia and their wonderful evening together. He couldn't help but smile, thinking about her laughter and sparkling eyes.
But just as his thoughts deepened, Rachel knocked on the door, breaking the spell.
"Come in," Alex said, his voice laced with frustration.
Rachel walked in and sat in the empty seat. "Good morning, sir; you seemed very happy today; I guess your outing with Sophia was a huge success then," Rachel said.
Alex chuckled lightly. "Well, that's all thanks to you. Now I'm sure Sophia would be having a wonderful time at home without getting to think about one or two terrible incidents that have happened in the past few days." Alex said.
Rachel sighed. "Well, that's good to hear. Speaking of terrible incidents, one of our clients went missing this morning." Rachel said, her voice etched with concern.
