Chapter 1 - The Lightning of the Curse and the Mystery of the Princess

The sky was continuously roaring with thunder, and the heavy raindrops seemed to be melting the earth. In the darkness of the night, no one dared to step outside, but there was one person fighting through the storm, running toward home—**Arin**.

**"It's really late today. Rin must be furious. I have to get home as quickly as possible, or else..."** Arin muttered to himself, his footsteps splashing through the wet mud as he ran.

**"Rin is definitely going to scold me today,"** he said to himself, and cutting through the heavy downpour, he raced toward his home. Arin was completely drenched, but there was only one thing on his mind—**to reach home and meet his sister**.

Arin's home was at the edge of the small village of 'Tamragrah,' where he lived with his younger sister **Rin**. In this world, if Arin was close to anyone, it was his sister, Rin. After losing their parents, the two had become each other's support.

When Arin neared home, he saw that **Rin** was sitting on the steps, waiting for him. The rain was soaking her hair and clothes, but she refused to go inside because of her worry for her brother.

**"Where are you, Arin? You're not home yet!"** Rin muttered to herself, her eyes constantly looking toward the path. Just then, she heard Arin's voice in front of her—

**"Rin! What are you doing out here? You'll get soaked and fall sick in this rain!"**

As soon as Rin heard her brother's voice, she lifted her head and ran toward him, hugging him tightly. Her eyes welled up with tears, and her strength was faltering, but seeing Arin made all her worries disappear.

**"Do you know how long I've been waiting for you?"** Rin said with a mix of anger and affection.

Arin laughed and said, **"I'm sorry, kid. The weather was bad, and I couldn't find a ride, so I had to come on foot."**

Rin, half-scolding him, said, **"Stop making excuses now. Let's go inside, or you'll catch a cold."**

The two siblings started moving toward the house, but just then, Arin felt something strange. He noticed the ground, where there were not two but **three shadows**. Arin paused for a moment and looked behind him, but there was nothing there.

Rin tightened her grip on Arin's hand and asked, **"What's wrong, Arin? What are you looking at behind you?"**

Before Arin could say anything, a loud thunderclap cracked through the sky. His sister Rin, frightened by the sound, clung to Arin even more tightly. Arin ignored the strange shadow, and the two went inside.

---

The night was slowly passing, but this night was anything but normal for Arin. **It was nearly 2 a.m.**, and Arin was tossing and turning in bed. An odd restlessness gripped him, as if something was calling out to him.

Suddenly, a fierce lightning bolt lit up the sky, and at the same time, the **curse mark** on Arin's wrist began to glow with a blue light.

**"Ah!"** Arin groaned in pain. His wrist began to burn, as if someone had thrown it into fire. He clutched his wrist tightly, but the pain wouldn't stop.

The **curse mark** was now glowing with an intense blue light. Arin couldn't understand what was happening to him. He tried to cool his wrist with cold water, but the burning and pain did not subside.

The pain was becoming unbearable. **Arin wanted to scream, but he decided not to wake Rin.** Without wasting another moment, he ran outside into the rain.

As soon as Arin stepped out, his scream pierced the sky. The heavens responded with a thunderous clap of lightning. Arin fell to his knees, the curse mark on his wrist now pulsating with even more energy. The burning intensified, and everything before his eyes began to blur.

Then, another fierce bolt of lightning cracked the sky and rushed toward Arin. He saw the lightning coming at him and raised his right hand to the sky to stop it.

**"No! No!"** Arin screamed loudly, and the curse mark on his wrist glowed even brighter. The lightning struck his hand and diverted toward a large stone mountain, splitting it into two.

---

This scene was not only witnessed by Arin but also by **another pair of eyes from the palace heights**.

It was **Princess Elara**—the most distinguished and mysterious woman of the city. **Princess Elara** was watching everything from the palace roof, her eyes focused on the lightning and Arin.

**"Who is he?"** Elara muttered to herself, her eyes filled with wonder and curiosity. She had never seen anyone **command lightning with their hands** before.

**"Could he be the one the prophecy spoke of?"** the princess said softly. A hidden fear and an unknown hope flickered in her eyes.

---

Arin lay collapsed on the ground. The curse mark on his wrist was still glowing faintly with blue light, but the pain had lessened.

**"What was that?"** Arin thought, his breaths still ragged. It all felt like a bad dream.

But little did he know, his power had not only been revealed to him but also to someone else. **Princess Elara** was now going to keep a close watch on his every move.

The lightning had struck the mountain with a loud explosion, splitting it into two. Arin stood in disbelief, watching the whole event unfold before his eyes. He couldn't believe what he had just seen—it felt like a dream.

---

"Did... Did I do that? No... How is this possible? How could I... throw lightning with my hands?" Arin muttered to himself, searching for answers but finding only questions.

The curse mark on his wrist was still shimmering with blue energy, visible even from a distance in the dark night. Slowly, Arin looked at his wrist, realizing that the pain had now subsided. He took a deep breath and stood up, but the questions still lingered in his mind.

He was still drenched from the rain, staring at the mountain now split in two. He couldn't comprehend how it all had happened.

"Did this... really happen because of me?"

Just as Arin was gathering himself, the same dark shadow appeared in front of him. But this time, it was not behind him but standing directly in front of him.

This shadow was no ordinary shadow. It stood nearly 6 feet tall and wide, as if darkness had been wrapped in thick, heavy cloth. It had no face, no body—just a mysterious dark form, terrifying and strange.

"Who are you? And why are you following me?" Arin asked, his voice trembling with fear and panic.

The shadow did not reply but slowly began advancing toward Arin.

"Stop! Stay away from me!" Arin shouted again. But the shadow kept moving closer, as if it already knew that this was the right time for Arin's curse mark to awaken.

When the shadow came very close to Arin, a deep, heavy voice pierced the silence.

"I am the one who gave your ancestors this curse mark," the shadow said.

Arin's heart began to race. "You... What are you saying? How is this possible? You don't even have a solid form, so how could you... give my ancestors this curse mark?" Arin asked, bewildered.

"This is not power, it is a curse," the shadow said coldly. "Your ancestors were cursed, and this curse has been passed down through generations in your family. Today, that curse has awakened because the time has come."

Arin's head was spinning. He had never imagined something like this happening in his life.

"Why... why was this curse given to our family?" Arin asked in a panicked voice.

"Because now it is time for you to understand the power of this curse. It is not just a curse but a warning. You must learn to control its power to stop the impending destruction, for your enemy will not be an ordinary one. It will be nearly impossible to defeat," the shadow said seriously.

"Enemy? Who is it? And what is the true meaning of this curse mark?" Arin asked, now surrounded by even more questions.

Meanwhile, the princess was watching Arin from afar, though she could not see everything clearly. But she had witnessed the power that was too dangerous to even speak of. Princess Elara could not leave her palace in the dead of night, so she decided she would begin her search for this boy with the unknown power in the morning.

---

Back with the shadow, it continued speaking to Arin, "I will tell you everything," it said, and then began to reveal the history of Arin's ancestors.

**Flashback...**

This is the story from thousands of years ago, in the city of "Kaladhar," where there lived a great warrior named "Averia." Averia had never lost a single battle. His power was so terrifying that the jinn, demons, and wizards of that time feared to even stand in his presence. The entire world was under Averia's rule, and no one could challenge his might.

Averia was invincible, and no weapon or magic could harm him. His immortality and invincibility had turned him arrogant. Taking advantage of this, Averia started enslaving jinn, demons, and wizards. His tyranny grew day by day, and he slowly transformed into a monster—one who annihilated anyone who dared to stand before him.

One day, Averia crossed all limits of cruelty. He attacked a city of wizards and reduced it to ashes in a single night. He spared neither children nor the elderly. Every soul who crossed his path was mercilessly slain by his sword.

**Averia** (laughing to his soldiers): "No one can survive! This city cannot withstand my power! Destroy everything!"

But the most brutal act occurred when Averia mercilessly killed a pregnant woman named Arena. With a single strike of his sword, he tore through her belly, killing not only her but also the innocent life she carried, a child who hadn't yet seen the world.

No one knew that this pregnant woman, Arena, was the wife of a powerful sorcerer named Elvis. Elvis was deeply immersed in the worship and mastery of dark powers, and he was highly respected in the world of sorcerers.

**Averia** (thinking to himself): "There is no one in this world who can stand against me. I am invincible!"

But Averia had forgotten that the greatest power didn't lie within any human, jinn, or demon, but in the devil itself.

When Elvis returned from his ritual, he found that his entire city had turned into a graveyard. Death and destruction lay in every direction. He ran through the ruins like a madman, searching for his loved ones. Tears flooded his eyes, and his heart was filled with unbearable pain.

**Elvis** (screaming): "Arena! Arena, where are you?"

Even the sky seemed to cry with him. Dark clouds covered the sky, and lightning began to strike fiercely. It was as if nature itself was mourning this cruelty. Then his eyes fell upon the lifeless body of his wife, Arena, lying on the ground. Blood was still flowing from her belly, and Elvis understood that both she and their unborn child were gone.

**Elvis** (weeping): "No... no... this can't be... Arena...!"

He picked up her lifeless body and held it in his arms, his tears flowing endlessly. He knelt on the ground, overwhelmed by grief, and screamed with all his might.

**Elvis** (looking toward the sky): "Arena! Aaah

Elvis (looking toward the sky): "Arena! Aaahhh...!"

His cries shook the heavens. The thunder roared louder, and the darkness grew even deeper. As he wept and shouted, something within him began to awaken-a power so fierce that it would soon change the course of destiny itself.
