Before Scott could finish his sentence, the man blurred. That was the only way Scott could describe it. One moment the figure was standing by the window, and in the next instant, he was directly in front of him.
The phone was snatched from Scott's hand with such force that it left his palm stinging. Scott barely had time to register what was happening before the man crushed the device in his hand, the screen shattering like brittle ice. He dropped the mangled remains to the floor with a disdainful flick of his wrist.
Scott's breath hitched again, and he scrambled backward, his legs tangling with the chair behind him. He fell hard onto the floor, panic surging through him like an electric current. His eyes darted to the broken phone, then back to the intruder, who now loomed over him.
"You... you c-can't just... what do you want?" Scott stammered, his voice cracking.
