Chapter 1 - The Gate

"Welcome to Elysia, the place beyond mortal comprehension where souls go to if they do not pass into nothingness themselves, we have been waiting for you, daughter of Lilith." Spoken by an enigmatic figure obscured in cloaks and rags. His voice resonates with Indra shuddering even the deepest parts of her core. She thinks to herself, "Who is.. Lilith?"

Indra's eyes look past the keeper and to the ornate gate itself, it is made of serene materials foreign to Indra herself. There is an inscription on the the center part of the gate in an unknown language to Indra, yet she understands it. "Elysia, land of dreams."

As Indra tries to look between the cracks of the gate to see what lies beyond her attention is taken by the shuddering sound of the enigmatic man tapping his staff onto the ground. Creating a waterdrop effect around the ground, the staff didn't look real to Indra she was unsure but to her it looked to be made up of energy of some sort.

Creaking, the gates slowly open, all of Indra's focus is drawn to what could possibly lie behind this colossal gate? Her eyes start to see light, and then wood, and then houses, and as the gate fully opens a small village is revealed. And at the road leading to the center of the village there are three figure facing the gate, it is hard for her to see many details of them from this far away other than the great sword on the back of the one in the middle.

Indra slowly steps past the gate into the realm of Elysia. What waits for her inside is everything her dull mind can think of, and more. "Take caution, revealing your power here would only cause problems." the Gatekeeper softly says to her as she steps past him and past the gate.

The three figures become less obscured as she walks closer to the center of the small village. She detects something auspicious, the village looks big enough for her to estimate anywhere from fifty to eight people live here regularly, but in the center of the village only three people stand. The sun hasn't even set yet, but no one else seems to even be around? The lights are on in the houses and she can see blinds and curtains closing slowly.

Creaking once again, Indra turns behind just for a glance. Letting her eyes off of the three in front of her could be a fatal decision she thinks. The gate behind her is closing again, she has no method of escape nor anywhere to run. Though it is not likely she would have been able to run for safety even if it was still open she thinks to herself.

She steps onto the stone road that has a path to the center of the village, but she doesn't turn there. Instead she continues walking taking the road to the east side of the village. While she does this her eyes franticly look around for signs of other life, is there anyone else here? No nothing and no one, but who she can see is the three figures moving down a different path that makes them cross with her.

Indra still not wanting to make the three think she was trying to directly get away from them takes another turn. Leading her toward now the west side of the village. Shit a dead end, she mumbles to herself. Turning around to go back now the three figures are there in front of her just about fifteen feet away, walking closer.

She can take a closer look at the three now, though most of their appearances are still obscured. The three of them are walking side by side, the one to her furthest left seems to be a woman with short and rough black hair, she can not see much else about her. The one in the middle is the man who she noticed had the giant sword on his back, he seems to stand much taller than the other two and has amazing muscularity. His face however is obscured by a cloth mask that cover all but his eyes and hair, not that is much there to hide anyways. Lastly the man on the right has a much more well kept appearance compared to the other two, he almost looks like royalty or nobility to Indra. His hair is a dark red color and it goes all the way down to his shoulders, on his side he appears to have two daggers.

As the group steps closer the one on the right loudly asks, "Look we don't wanna kill you, not here at least, so just come with us. You should be the last we need for the job." his voice is proud, and confident like not even a fiber of his being could imagine Indra posing any real threat to him. As he says this the other two stop where they are still several feet away as the red-haired man comes closer to approach Indra.

"And if I say no what happens?" Indra says in a uneasy voice, anyone could tell that she is on edge and could lash out toward the nearest person. Taking this into account the red-haired man stops where is only about two feet from Indra now, "Then I knock you unconscious and drag you there." he says with a more threatening voice this time.

Indra looks around, the nearest escape would be past the red-haired man, there is no way she could get past him without getting caught. She really messed up going to an alley, maybe before she could have banged on a door or window and someone would've come out to help her, but not here. "Seems that will be the way then." Indra says in a confident voice. Looking down to her side noticing a sharp looking rock she picks it up and enters a stance as if she means to fight all three of them.

The red-haired man bursts out laughing, "You really think you can harm me with that? Well I haven't met anyone who had the gull to try and fight me yet this could be amusing." He starts to grin as he speaks.

Step, step step, Indra rushes at the man intending to take him down in just one attack. In her past life Indra had a brief amateur mixed martial arts career, though she never continued it after a bad injury in her last fight. If I can just land this hit, I can daze him enough to make a run for it then I will start screaming in the town center and pray to whatever god sent me here that someone comes out.

Though it appears reality is crueler then that, in her rush of adrenaline and charge without really thinking things through, she tripped. She was too caught up in making a run for it she didn't take time to look where she was actively standing.

Bursting out laughing again the red haired man says after calming down, "That truly was the greatest laugh that I have had in months I won't soon forget you woman!!" Then in a blink he dashes to her and hits her on the head with the hilt of one of his daggers. Indra becomes unconscious.

"Hurry this up already Vizo if we had just taken her when we first saw her we could've been halfway to the site by now." says the man with the giant sword to Vizo, the red-haired man.

"Sorry some of us try have some sort of joy in our life Icago, not all of us are bald rocks like you." Vizo quickly argued back. Hearing this Icago grabs his sword off his back ready to kill Vizo for his words but the woman steps in between the two only lifting a finger to stop Icago's rush. "Dumb as a rock too." she quickly said.
