*Akira's POV*

I rushed into the hospital and used the elevator to the floor my mum was admitted, I ran into the ward ignoring Liam and Noah who were standing by the door. I was about rushing to the bed when Liam held me back.

"Let me go Liam! I need to wake her up, she's just asleep," I struggled weeping profusely.

"Calm down Akira, pls pull urself together," Liam consoled after pulling me into a hug, I hit him on the chest with my hands.

"Don't tell me to calm down, don't, She promised me that she'll be fine, I need to go ask her why she broke her promise.... Pls.... Pl..ease... Tell her to wake up...." I kept sobbing.

"Pls Akira pull urself together," Liam consoled, patting my back slowly. I was still sobbing when I saw Noah crying uncontrollably.

I disengaged the hug with Liam and moved to where Noah was standing pulling him into a hug.

"Sis, mum is gone, mum left us," Noah said still sobbing.

"She's gone to a better place, her body might be dead but her soul will always be with us," I said patting him slowly on the back

"S..he really wanted to see u.... She kept asking me to bring u to her... S..he.." He broke out in tears again, I fought back the tears forming in my eyes.

"It's okay Noah, pls stop crying, I need u to pull urself together, mum won't be happy if she sees u in this state," I comforted.

"I'll miss her," Noah mumbled.

"We'll all miss her," Liam and I said together.

*FIVE MONTHS LATER*

*Akira's POV*

It's being months since mum passed away, things were tough but bearable. Noah finally accepted the fact that mum was gone for good.

It was a Saturday morning, I recently got a job in a coffee shop around the city side, Noah was upstairs preparing for school, he's in his final year in college. Mum tried so hard to see that we don't lack.

'I'll make sure to continue from where she stopped,' I thought.

"Noah! Aren't u done yet?!" I asked loudly, I just finished preparing breakfast. Noah has always been a wonderful kid, making everyone happy, but one bad habit he has, he was frequent at breaking girl's hearts. I won't blame him though, girls literally flock around him because of his handsome physiques, even when he was younger people mistook him for a girl.

This reminds me of the guy I met months ago at Pearl Hotel, that night never left my mind. It was dark but I could still remember his dark shiny eyes piercing into mine. He's a real definition of an Angel in a human form.

He's tall with a well built body, dark hair, shiny blue eyes, pointed nose, pink li....

"Sis! Sis!"Noah called, I immediately regained myself.

"Umm... Breakfast is ready," I managed to say.

"What were u thinking about? I've been calling u for some minutes now," Noah said sitting on the dining chair.

"Were u thinking of Liam or wait... The guy u said u met the night on mum's death?" Noah asked.

'I can see he's completely healed saying that so cheaply,' I thought.

"I told u I met someone?" I asked not recalling when I told him about that.

"Yeah u did, u just said it subconsciously, is the person a guy?" Noah asked.

"Eat ur breakfast quickly, I have to go prepare for work," I said ignoring his questions, he nods and began eating, I was getting on the stairs when my phone started ringing, I took it out of the apron and placed it on my ear.

📞 Hello, The person said.

📞Hi, how may I help u?

📞 Are u Akira Yang?

📞 Yes, any problem?

📞No, I'm the manager at the company u submitted ur application letter to, XANDER SOFTWARE CORPORATION. On hearing that I immediately composed myself.

📞 Good morning sir, I didn't know that u were the one speaking.

📞 It's fine, morning by the way, I called to congratulate u, u've gotten the job and u're to start on Monday.

📞 Thank u so much sir, thank u, but sorry to ask, isn't there supposed to be an interview? I asked.

📞 I'm surprised as well but there isn't gonna be any interview.

📞 Thank u so much sir, I'll make sure to work hard.

📞 Good, congratulations once again, looking forward to working with u.

📞Me too sir, thank u, have a nice day, bye. I said and disconnected the call.

"Woohoo!" I jumped in excitement, Noah stood up shocked, I ran and gave him a big hug.

"I got the job Noah, I got the job," I kept saying excitedly.

"Really? Congratulations, I'm so happy for u," Noah said with a smile after we disengaged from the hug.

"Finally I won't be scared of beating up that st*pie boss of urs who keeps treating u like trash," Noah said.

"U mean ex boss," I said then we both laughed.

"That means I could skip school today for us to celebrate right?" Noah asked pleadingly winking at me like a cute🥺 kitten. He got eyes like a kitten and I love kittens, so he uses that to make me do what he wants.

"Don't think u can sway me with that, I won't fall for it this time." I said and he kept blinking.

"Fine, but u know that won't be good right?" I asked, he hugged me.

"Don't worry, u know is Saturday, there won't be any serious lecturing," He assured.

"If u say so, let me go upstairs and change into something better then I'll go teach Mr Sam a very good lesson."

"I'll go with u, I'll go change as well," Noah said and we both went upstairs together.

*Earlier that day*

*XANDER ENTERPRISE*

Alex was seated in his office thinking of the lady he met five months ago.

"She never left my mind," He wondered, that night was a coincidence, he got tipsy and seeing him aro*see, since he couldn't control himself....

"I don't regret it, I don't regret meeting her," He mumbled to himself. He started to go through the piles of application letters on his table.

That's not his job to do but since he met Akira, he wished he could see her name in one of the application letter, so he told the manager to leave that for him.

He was scrolling through them calling the names he saw one after the other.

"Beatrice... No"

"Lilian... No"

"Alison... No"

"Akira... N... Wait a minute," He checked again and a wide grin appeared on his face.

"Finally," He mumbled fulfilled, he pressed the intercom to speak with the manager.

"I need u in my office now," Alex ordered.

"Right away sir."

*Few minutes later*

Mr Roy rushed in and bows a little to Alexander Wayne the CEO.

"Sir, u sent for me," He said not daring to look into his boss's cold eyes.

"Take this file, I need u to call the number on it and inform this person that she has gotten the job and should start on Monday morning." This made Mr Roy shocked.

"Who could this person be for the CEO to employ her himself?" Mr Roy thought, he immediately collected the file.

"U can take the rest with u," Mr Roy took the other files, bows a little before leaving.

"Phew 😥, I almost wet my pants," Mr Roy mumbled sweating profusely, he then proceeded to the elevator.

Alexander called his assistant and placed the phone on his ear, just after a second Dave answered the phone.

📞 Hello boss.

📞 Cancel all my schedules on Monday for the Pearls Enterprise, I want to focus on Xander Enterprise for now. Alex ordered.

📞 Right away sir.

📞 Also Alexia is coming to City X on Wednesday, I want her to stay at Pearl Hote📞 I'll do just that, Dave replied and Alex ends the call.

He smiles, "Akira Yang," He calls for the last time.
