The restaurant was bustling with customers and waiters trying to get around people without dropping food or spilling beverages. It was a late Saturday night and it was normal for it to be this busy especially when the restaurant was doing their late-night deals. The restaurant was a nice barbecue restaurant on the south side of Riverside. "Sir do you need anything" Alex looked up at the waitress, he was sitting at the bar and he had a few too many drinks. "No I'm fine, just tired, I was about to leave anyways," he said getting up from the stool he was sitting on. "Ok, please be safe out there," she said with a kind but worrisome smile. He grabbed some cash and tipped the waitress before leaving.
He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and looked at the time. It was 10:25 pm. "Shit," he said, calling an Uber to pick him up. I was at the bar for too long. I was supposed to be home by 7:00 pm. He hadn't intended to be at the bar for as long as he had but knew that it was too late to do anything about it.
Once the Uber arrived he quickly got into the car and told the Uber where to go. His house was around an hour away so once he arrived he thanked the Uber and went inside. He didn't live in a big house, his house was a two-bedroom house with one bathroom and an office and living room. He had the money to live in a better and bigger house being a famous author and detective. But being only one person and it wasn't really necessary he just stuck with what he had.
He took off his wet alcohol-soaked jacket and threw it on the couch knowing that he would have to wash it very soon. He stumbled to his bedroom and randomly grabbed some clothes before going to the bathroom. He turned on the shower and sat on the lid of the toilet letting his skin soak up the steam. Around twenty minutes later he got into the shower, washed the alcohol off his body, and got out. After he was done getting dressed he went to the living room, turned on the TV, and sat on the couch watching. Around an hour later he ended up falling asleep on the couch.
He jolted awake to the sound of a woman screaming in the house next to his. As he heard this he quickly got up, threw on a shirt and quickly ran to his bedroom to grab his gun. As he was unlocking his gun box he heard the sound of glass shattering and a loud thunk. He finally got the box unlocked, grabbed his gun, and loaded it. He ran out to the living room only to see both of his windows smashed.
He looked around and saw someone sitting on his couch."R.S.P.D." he yelled "Put your hands in the air", holding his gun out in front of him ready if the intruder attacked him. But the person would not move. Suspicious, he walked to the front of the person. "Sir are you ok?" he said, suspicious but worried at the same time. He saw red on the person's clothes and looked down to see blood dripping from the couch to the ground. "What the?" he said confused. He looked at the person and grabbed the hat that was covering their face and took it off quickly. "Holy shit," he said, backing away. The person didn't even look like a person anymore. It was a woman who had her eyes cut out and her mouth torn into a smile. He tried not to throw up as he grabbed his phone and called the department.
