1 week.
1 week before i have to go to school, and to be honest, i'm not excited at all.
I've spend most of my time either training my skills and swordarts, drawing and posting my art online, writing important information about "Systems Interest" or just having an existential crisis.
Well, the last one is probably the most norma reaction to have.
Entering one of the worst novels you ever wrote in your entire life as a character you never knew about and seeing two versions of yourself that only you can see isn't exactly something normal to experience.
I genuinely wonder how actual isekai protagonists managed to move on so quickly.
Although i was a shut in for my whole life, i did sometimes get messages and texts from my past friends asking how i was.
I had people that missed me, but i took all of that for granted back then.
And now i needed to make some new friends in a world where 90% of teenagers are arrogant brats that always got spoiled, and this includes the main character of my novel.
"Ugh...This is so annoying..."
I sighed as i rolled over on my bed, absolutely bored out of my mind.
I never slept well in my past life, often staying awake until 3 am before waking up at 7 am, though i never expected my bad sleep schedule to come back.
Now, although i'm in the body of a 14 year old, i felt like i would get eye bags sooner or later if i keep my fucked up sleep schedule up.
"S....You are the laziest person i have ever seen, do you even exercice?"
I heard Sora complain about my daily habits of being lazy, and i could tell Soraya was pretty awkward as she too was lazy.
Only difference is that she doesn't show it up.
Hah...How easy it was to hide my laziness back then. I truly miss it.
"Are you even listening to me? Go outside!! Stop being such a shut in!! You are barely getting the sunlight you need!"
I looked at her from the corner of my eyes, i didn't want to admit that she may be right for once.
But, i didn't care that much...Everyone in this world were just characters in a novel i wrote.
They aren't anything more than that, i created them and they were a failure.
Heck, these characters aren't even as good and heroic as they think they are.
I truly didn't care about them.
"ey- HEY! Are you ignoring me or something?"
"H-huh? Did you say something?"
My vision suddenly got clearer as i suddenly heard Sora's words reach my ears.
I was zoning out as usual, i didn't know why but i didn't complain since it never caused me any issues before.
"Ugh, i'm just telling you that you won't have to worry about any school supplies as you're lucky i bought them before you took over my body."
"Uh...Okay? I didn't ask but thanks?"
I glanced at the time.
4 PM.
....This is a good time to go outside for a bit.
I didn't have any money but i could use the sunlight to atleast stay somewhat healthy.
"Fine....I'll go outside."
"FINALLY!!"
"ugh...fine.."
I could hear Soraya groan under her breath, making sure Sora couldn't hear her at all.
What an attitude i had back then...And here i thought i was pretty shy.
I stood up and walked towards my closet, i didn't want to leave the house but i knew that i had to go out one day.
Looking at the outfits this body had, i was disappointed.
Most of the clothes and outfits were crop tops or skirts, which i was a bit uncomfortable with.
I didn't exactly dislike those who wore these but like..This is a 14 year old we are talking about, not a university student that is allowed to wear whatever they want.
I kept looking around for anything else and decided to go with a simple outfit.
I wore a white t-shirt tucked in a grey jean cargo pants with fingerless gloves and some black and white shoes.
"Hm..This looks pretty good on me-"
"You look like an emo girl."
Sora's words made me a bit annoyed but i managed to hide it.
"This outfit looks perfect on me!"
Swiftly ignoring Sora, i left the house and headed to Arcania again, this time only having the intention to explore the areas and maybe learn where the school i'll be going to soon in a week could be.
Sora and Soraya were both forced to follow me as they sat on each of my shoulders.
As i kept walking around, seeing as i was still living in a slightly dangerous forest, it was inevitable that i would meet some weak creatures that would try to attack me on sight.
Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to build a house in the middle of nowhere?
I just used "Weapon Transformer" to get a gun and shoot some of the creatures as they were pretty far.
Good thing i played a lot of shooter games as a kid back then.
Thankfully, none of the blood touched me as i finally got to the main city of Arcania.
I knew that i had to use my free info dumper- aka Sora, to know the directions for everything.
'Sora, is there an area i haven't visited yet that doesn't need me to pay anything?'
'Hm..You could check out the public Auction, they don't have a fee and you can always go there to see what type of objects they sell. I often go there to see what items they have when i have enough money.'
There, what a good little info dumper i have with me.
'Lead the way.'
I followed Sora as she lead me to where the public Auction was.
As i kept walking, she suddenly pointed at an old, rundown, kind of ugly looking house in a dark alleyway.
There were a lot of cobwebs and i'm pretty sure i saw some mold on the walls, the wall colors were also extremely discolored from the dust and dirt around it.
'It's in there! Just go on inside and put on a mask to enter, they give out free masks!'
'....I don't trust this area, are you sure you aren't trying to make me get kidnapped?'
'Uhm...i agree with S..This place seems sketchy..'
Sora rolled her eyes at us as she crossed her arms.
'Just believe me!! I know this place better than both of you, and i can't exactly leave you guys sides since i have to be close to S once i'm awake. Where would i have the time to trick you guy?'
..Yeah true she wasn't exactly wrong...
I glanced back at the, low-key ugly, house and decided to go inside.
As soon as i opened the door to head inside, i was absolutely shocked as the inside didn't look anything close to the outside.
The first thing i noticed was how clean and neat everything looked, though this was only the entry as there was a bodyguard with a bag filled with masks and cloaks to hide your face and identity.
The walls looked like a nice shade of white, the floors were black and white, just like a checker board, and surprisingly looked extremely clean, as if, i couldn't see a single particle of dust anywhere.
I took a mask and a cloak before going inside.
'You know..The bodyguard you saw earlier is actually blind, but his skill allows him to see if anyone is present even without seeing anything.'
'....Ok i did not need to know that-'
Sora's words weren't even important to me anyways as i entered the actual auction room.
It felt like i was in an entirely new area as the main color scheme i noticed were red and black, the chairs were a dark red while the walls and the floors were each different shades of black.
The room itself was extremely big, it looked like it could fit over 1,000 people at once without any issues.
It looked to be a dangerous area but i didn't mind it that much as i noticed a few cameras in every corner.
'..Seems like theres not much security around here..'
I noticed how there were no actual security guards around.
Looking around, I noticed a few people, most likely teenagers from their height, just talking to each other as if this was a normal place to hang out at.
They didnt even seem to want to buy anything as they were looking a bit too chill and casual to actually want to buy anything.
I just sat down in one of the middle rows of seats so i could have the best view of the auction.
I decided to just scroll through my phone as i waited for the auction to start.
I barely had any money but I just wanted to see what type of artifacts were being sold before the beginning of my novel.
A few minutes later, the lights suddenly turned off as a stage was suddenly being lit up.
Soon after, a young man appeared on stage, he wore a nice suit that complimented his body quite well.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Auction! We hope you'll have an amazing time here as we have prepared many rare items for you!"
He smiled as he spoke in a gentle voice, clearly capturing everyone's attention, including mine.
"For our first item, we have an artifact that will give you the ability to paralyze anyone around a 5 meter radius from the artifact!"
As I glanced at the artifact, although i wanted it, i barely had any money so i just observed the others actions.
I noticed a few people pressing on their tablets a certain amount of money before hearing the auctioneer speak.
"Number 10 for 1,000...Number 63 for 50,000- Number 33 for 100,000!.."
"...Going once...."
I glanced around, wanting to see who Number 33 was.
"Going twice...."
I couldnt find who it was nice everyone wore cloaks and masks.
"SOLD!!"
Suddenly, i heard people clapping and asking for the next item.
"For our next item...We have a grade 2 skill book called "Information Verifier", this skill apparently allows the user to check other people's stats!"
It seemed like a pretty good skill but i couldnt get it even if I wanted to.
"Number 11 for 500,000.....Number 36 for 100,000- NUMBER 11 COMES BACK WITH 110,000....Number 36 is fighting back with 120,000!!"
"Will Number 11 come back fo- NUMBER 11 JUST BID 500 THOUSAND...."
I was surprised at how much money was being wasted at the moment just for a grade 2 skill that isn't even that amazing.
"Going onc- NUMBER 36 JUST FOUGHT BACK AND JUST BID 1 MILLION??"
Now i was in complete disbelief, all that money for a small and, low-key, useless skill.
"Going once.....Going twice..."
"SOLD!!"
A few people clapped again before the auctioneer started speaking again.
The more items came up, the more i realiaed just how useless some of these items were.
They werent that useful to me as i just wanted some fighting based skills or weapons, but most of these items were simply about knowing about the other persons mentality or just learning what skills and swordarts the other persons practices.
It was pretty boring.
'....Why do you look so bored?'
'Well nothing here is useful for me anyways, i would rather get skills that are genuinely useful in battle.'
'You are so boring geez...I bet you don't know how to have fun.'
'Haha funny.'
I rolled my eyes at Sora's last comment.
The more time passed, the more I noticed how it's always mainly the same people bidding, as the others just spoke between themselves.
Although this was a free and public Auction, it felt as though I was somewhere i wasnt supposed to.
The only good things in that auction today was the first artifact that paralyzes anyone around a 5 Meter radius, but it never specified if it paralyzed the user too or not.
This was such a boring time.
