Chapter 4 - Getting used to everything [1]

3 days.

3 days is how long it took for me to clean the entire house perfectly without leaving a single spot of dust anywhere.

I'm exhausted..

I noticed Soraya glance at me with a worried look at on her

"S...you've been working really hard lately, it sucks i cant help you since i'm literally the size of your finger and the fact i can't exactly touch anything..."

I heard Soraya speak next to me as she was just flying around close to me, watching everything.

"Yeah but this house wasnt even in good condition before i got here, The walls were covered in actual dirt for gods sake!"

I was currently saying on my bed in my room, a 2 story house with 1 kitchen, 2 living rooms, 2 guestrooms, 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom isn't exactly something thats easy to clean in under a week.

I didn't sleep since yesterday because i knew that a badly-kept house isn't a good living environment.

I took out Sora's, and now my, phone to search for any hint of my existence.

I even tried searching the novel I was in but it seemed as though this was actually in a whole other world.

The artists i knew in the past didn't exist now, and there were music artists that never existed in my past life so it felt weird listening to songs which i knew i wouldn't be comfortable with.

The songwriters and artists i liked didn't exist in this world so i have to go back to searching for any artists who's songs sound even slightly close to them.

As I kept trying to listen what songs are popular now, Sora suddenly flied back close to me.

"Ugh, are you going to stay inside all day? My body can't survive a day without natural sunlight yet all you've done is stay inside! You're acting like a poor person!"

"Okay rude- also i just dont feel like going out anyways..."

I sighed in annoyance as I kept trying to find some songs that i could like. It was literally impossible if i had to be honest.

"If you want to listen to different songs than whats online and popular right now, I know a store outside that sells old MP4 players with songs from the 21st century! You act like someone that would like those types of weird songs."

She spoke in a mocking and loud tone of voice, clearly wanting to make me annoyed while convincing me to go outside.

"....FINE! I'll go outside if you'll shut up. And you better hope there's actually a shop that sells those types of songs..."

I stood up, the air around the house smelled much fresher and cleaner now so i didn't have any problems going outside anyways.

I decided to wear a tight plain beige t-shirt tucked in some brown cargo pants with a long dark brown jacket that didn't feel to hot, which was perfect for the weather today with some black and white shoes.

"Hm...I should probably buy some silver jewelry, I feel like it would look better on me than gold.."

I muttered under my breath as I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Gold jewelry is better on me i know i'm right!"

Her annoying high pitched voice sounded like a mosquito in my ear, while Soraya stayed quiet as always.

Soraya really did act exactly how i acted when I was 19 back then, still shy but kind.

I left my room and walked down stairs before taking my keys and my purse, before opening the door and leaving my house.

Soraya and Sora were sitting on their respective shoulder, I never knew why they sat there but i didn't mind.

I locked the door behind me and realized that i lived pretty close to the main city, which was nice since i didn't have to waste too much time going out for shopping.

I checked the amount of money i had, i only had 20,336 Dirham.

For some reason, the entire world decided to use the Morrocan currency globally.

Seriously, what was i thinking while writing this??

It was enough for food and a few clothes.

"Hey, you two, do you think its possible to just talk to each other through telepathy or something? I don't want to look crazy in front of others."

I hoped this really was possible since it doesn't seem like anyone could see the two of them sitting on each of my shoulders.

'Mhmm, we can duh?'

'I..think so yeah.'

As I heard both Sora and Soraya's names in my brain, i was glad they had different voices so i could atleast know who was who.

'Nice. Sora, how much are those MP4 players you talked about earlier?'

'Its not that expensive, only like 3,000 Dirham but you have to get them at an antique shop since, you know, no one listens to those old songs anyways.'

I nodded as I walked towards the main part of Arcania.

Arcania was a new city built specifically for new upcoming heroes and to be a safe place for people from other countries incase a demon invasion happened again.

The only languages mainly spoken there are Arabic and English, since demons most likely knew how to speak english with how popular it is worldwide, the government decided to chose a language that not everyone knows how to speak fluently but is still known enough for people to know what the language even is.

Arabic was chosen, which i'm a bit glad for since I'm morrocan.

...Thinking about it, thats probably why i added so many small hints about morroco in my novel, but atleast it made the worldbuilding somewhat original.

Thats one good thing about my first novel. The rest is absolutely shitty.

"How much time left?"

'5 minutes!'

I could literally hear the excitement in her voice as she spoke, was she that happy about going outside?

Sigh...

This is going to be a long, and very exhausting day.

10 minutes later

"....Sora didn't you say it would take 5 minutes? Why did it take twice the time you said it would take?"

'...Well i thought we would be going by car-"

'YOU HAVE A CAR AND DIDN'T TELL ME?'

I was shocked and in disbelief. She made me walk non stop to the main city without telling me she had a car.

'..Wait i thought you were poor and not a millionaire anymore?-'

Sora quickly interrupts me

'Well my dad does pay for everything, i might not have enough for a good car but he gives me enough for gas, food and maybe pocket money if i'm lucky.'

That...made slightly more sense, her father is outside of the city now and her mom is nowhere to be found so atleast I dont have to bother with having to deal with them any time soon.

Our attitudes were completely different anyways, so this was a good thing for me.

"Since no one can see you, just show me the direction towards the antique store, I know you can fly so it won't be that hard."

I was bored of walking when i finally managed to enter the main part and the most important city on Earth.

Arcania.
