Chapter 7 - Kira vs Kakashi

"Very good." Benji said, clearly impressed with his shurikenjutsu skills. Four more kids went after Kira but once it was done, they moved on to the final and the most important combat exam.

Benji placed a small box filled with folded papers and got everyone to pick one paper each. He opened them up and noted down the numbers they got before organising the fights.

"Alright, first match. Raido and Choten, come to the center and get ready."

Just like that, the fights began. Kira saw that no one used ninjutsu and nor did they use genjutsu. Everyone fought with their kunai, threw shuriken or preferred the manly fist fights.

It was fun to watch, but there wasn't much to take note about as none of the fights made Kira go "WOW!".

His friends quickly won match after match and the first to get disqualified was surprisingly Asuma. But when Kira glanced at his opponent who was Kakashi, he shook his head.

"Luck really does play a huge part in life."

Kurenai turned to look at him, but then went back to watching the fights as she had become used to Kira's eccentric behaviour. He'd randomly talk about something entirely unrelated, or just go on and on about his bugs.

Not that she hated it, but she just didn't find the talk about bugs as interesting as gossiping and other things. While she didn't mind hanging around the bugs, she also specifically didn't "like" them.

Kurenai too, lost her next match as it was against Guy and even though he wasn't adept at using kunai or shuriken, he was undoubtedly better than her when it came to raw speed and strength.

His training had just began, but when it came to taijutsu, there could only be a handful of people his age who could beat him. Of course, only while using weapons. If it came to pure hand to hand combat, only Kakashi, with his exceptional talent and training he went through with his father, could beat Guy at this stage.

And Kira considered himself to be able to beat Guy too. Of course, only because he was at the starting stage and had a trump card. If he began to unlock his gates, Kira doubted he could keep up.

Minutes passed and there were three more matches left. Kakashi beat his opponent and waited in the finals for his last opponent while Kira walked towards the center of the training grounds.

Guy stood in front of him, his face unable to hide his nervousness as he stared at Kira, waiting for him to attack.

Kira on the other hand, took out a kunai from the bag tied to his wait before turning to look at Guy with a serious expression on his face.

"I can't beat you with taijutsu. You're too strong."

Hearing his words, Guy didn't know what to say. He was insecure about himself and his entire class made fun of him for being trash. Today was the first time he was able to show off his speciality.

Before he could speak, Kira raised his hand up and pointed towards Guy before speaking.

"Therefore, I'll be using my bugs against you!"

Right after he declared that he'll be using his bugs, Kira dashed forward with his kunai in his hand. Kikaichu flew out from his body and covered Guy's face, blocking his vision.

Caught by surprise, he tried to grab the bugs and toss them away, but he was in a fight. There was no way Kira would just wait for him to throw his bugs away.

By the time his kikaichu covered Guy's face, he was only two steps away from him. He didn't punch him, nor kick him. Instead, he simply placed his kunai against his neck and looked at Benji.

Benji stared at Kira for two whole seconds before nodding, "Kira wins. Kakashi, get to the center and Kira, do you need some time to rest?"

Kira looked at his bugs and shook his head, "No, I'm fine."

Kakashi stood in front of Kira and even though he had a mask, the smile would not be hidden. He really was happy to be able to fight against Kira and since the guy had just given up the last time, he really hoped that he would fight with all of his might this time.

He saw Kira lift his hand up and instantly became anxious. What if he gave up once again? Doesn't he care about his grades? For the first time in his life, Kakashi hoped that no one knew about his father. Especially Kira.

Luckily for him, Kira dropped his hand down, parallel to the ground as he pointed at Kakashi.

"I respect our Konoha's White Fang, but I wish to win this fight." he said, as he planned on using his words to shake up Kakashi in one way or the other. In fights, both physical and mental condition played a huge part to decide the outcome.

Hearing this Kakashi let out a sigh of relief, but the next words caught him offguard again.

"I wish to win this fight, but I don't want to fight White Fang's son! Aaaaah, why is it so hard!" he exclaimed, the pained expression on his face clear as he made eye contact with Kakashi.

"Kakashi!!!" he screamed dramatically and suddenly, he stopped, "I have a solution to this problem."

With a serious look on his face, he glanced at his teacher Benji. And then, shifted his attention back to Kakashi, "Kakashi, give up. This way, I don't have to fight you and I'll also win."

His words sounded righteous, but everyone nearby felt like punching his face to a pulp. Even Kakashi who was usually cool headed, felt like he wanted to stab Kira's black heart.

Benji who couldn't take it anymore, signalled the start of the fight and Kakashi who was already frustrated from Kira's words, ran forward.

He was fast, extremely fast as he took out six shuriken and threw them at Kira.
