In the warriors' keep, Brian was pacing back and forth in his room, lost in thought. What was I thinking, sending those guys into war? Should I go and join the fight? But that would mean defying King Lothian. And Luci... I know he's strong, but he can't possibly handle two—maybe not even one—of Heaven's enemies.
Meanwhile, Luci stood face to face with Push and Pull.
"Hey, Push and Pull," Luci called out.
They responded in unison, "What?"
Luci smirked. "I'm not gonna fight you," he said, swinging his chains with confidence. "I'm going to bully you."
Pull frowned. "What do you mean by bull—"
Before Pull could finish, Luci grabbed the single horn on his forehead. With a mighty heave, he threw him with such force that Pull hit the ground hard, crashing and leaving a massive hole in the earth.
Push growled, stepping forward. "Hey, you! You're gonna pay for that!" he snarled, dark energy flowing into his hands. "Hell Technique: immense Gravity!"
The battlefield trembled as the gravitational force intensified. Luci, the debris, and everything around them were dragged deeper into the ground, the earth compressing under the immense pressure.
Push and Pull peered into the deepening pit. "Is he dead?" Pull asked, trying to spot Luci through the dust cloud.
Suddenly, one of Luci's chains lashed out, striking Pull squarely in the head. Blood splattered as his skull cracked, and he was sent flying through the air. Luci leaped out of the hole, landing with a forceful kick that sent Push skyward. The two demons hovered mid-air.
As Pull's face began regenerating, he smirked. "We'll deal with you later. For now, let's conquer the kingdom. Father will be pleased."
Push nodded. "Let's stall him. Winged-hand demons, attack!"
A horde of winged demons swarmed toward Luci. One hissed, "With pleasure."
Another growled, "We'll tear him apart!"
Push and Pull turned and rushed toward the kingdom, leaving their minions to handle Luci.
Luci sneered. As the first demon lunged at him, Luci drove his fist straight through its torso, blood spraying everywhere. He followed with a swift kick, decapitating another demon.
As the horde converged, Luci swung his chains in a deadly arc, spinning into a tornado of destruction. Any demon that approached was shredded, their blood splattering across the battlefield. The tornado glowed red as their lifeblood stained the air.
By the time the whirlwind subsided, nearly all the winged demons lay dead. Luci grabbed one of the survivors by the neck, glaring into its eyes. Drawing out his wings, he growled, "Let me borrow these, will you?"
The demon screamed in agony as Luci ripped its wings free. He leaped into the air, gliding toward the fleeing twins. "I'm coming for you, weaklings," he snarled.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the battlefield, a fairy and other warriors stood over the lifeless body of a winged-hand demon.
"Wow," the fairy panted, wiping her brow. "That one was tough."
Ron looked at the corpse, noting the hole in its chest. "We managed to take it down, but barely."
Mary turned to the group. "Vic and I will check on Captain Luci. You guys go and assist the others."
Ron nodded. "As you wish, Vice Captain."
Hearing the title, Mary smiled inwardly. I love it when they call me that, she thought.
Back at the warriors' keep, Brian stopped pacing and made up his mind. He turned to see Daniel and Brianna enter the room.
"Hey, Bray," Daniel said. "I think we should help Luci out."
Brian nodded. "That's exactly what I was thinking. But what about the king?"
Brianna interjected, "The king is nowhere to be seen."
Brian clenched his fists. "Then let's go. It's time for the real war to begin!"
