Looking at Elliott, Rosalyn neither agreed nor disagreed with his statement.
"Well, we don't know for sure just yet. It can be that it just looks really suspicious, but that Mark just went overboard with a gift for a long-time friend. Amanda have been talking excessively about that bracelet for quite a while…"
"No, Rosalyn. A man like Mark does not just randomly by excessively expensive gifts for his female secretary." Elliott took a small snack from the table before continuing, "and I don't think it was a coincidence that Amanda stepped in when she did. And neither was the fact that she was wearing the bracelet in front of you."
Rosalyn faintly tapped the table with her index finger, contemplating his words.
"Well, you might be right… I guess I just haven't quite wrapped my head around it yet. Either way, I still have to decide whether or not to show up for the dinner tomorrow."
"What?! You're still going? Even after how he treated you?" Elliott exclaimed, clearly not agreeing.
"I haven't decided yet. I might," she sighed. Looking through her phone, she continued, "I have a meeting with one of our suppliers there tomorrow anyway, so I might as well see him after, as I am already there."
Shaking his head, Elliott just let out a sigh. "Well, I know I can't convince you otherwise if you have already made up your mind. But! Don't you dare take him back!"
Elliott had long since considered Rosalyn as one of his closest friends and really didn't want her getting back with Mark.
He had never liked him, feeling he was too stuck up and hard in his ways. Mark was used to using his family's influence to get his way instead of working hard.
Of course, Elliott didn't really find anything wrong with this, as it's quite common practice for people from prestigious backgrounds. But the way Mark did it just rubbed Elliott the wrong way.
Elliott had raised his concerns with Rosalyn when she had just started seeing Mark, but to no avail.
Rosalyn had been happy.
And Elliott was really happy for her. He just hoped that she could've been happy with someone else.
But then Rosalyn and Mark officially started dating, and Elliot kept his concerns to himself, not wanting it to create a rift between himself and Rosalyn.
And then over the last few months, as Mark had gotten increasingly stressed, Rosalyn had started to notice as well.
Finally, she had broken up with him. Elliott couldn't just let them get back together again! And especially if Mark was really being unfaithful.
Rosalyn gave a small smile, "no worries, I have no intention of taking him back. But since it seems he is in denial about the current situation, I should make it clear to him."
Elliott gave a low snort before hurriedly disguising it with a chough.
"Well, as long as you have no plan to take him back, you have my support," he smiled.
"Then, how about the supplier you have a meeting with tomorrow? Any problems?"
"No, no problems. It seems they want to change up some of the prices for some of the ingredients in one of our more popular packages. So, the meeting tomorrow is just a first discussion. I'll try to get a good deal by offering to buy from them for the new product line."
"Hmm… Ok, but give me a call after if we need to start looking for a new supplier," he gave another cheeky smile. "I still have a few different ones in my contacts."
"Thanks, Elliott."
"No worries, we are still partners after all. I have actually been feeling a bit guilty because I feel I leave all the hard work to you. All I can really do is use my connections when they're needed."
"Well, without your contacts, TODYEN wouldn't even exists, so don't sell yourself short," Rosalyn gave an encouraging smile.
"Haha, you're right. If there is one thing I do have, it's my connections," Elliott laughed jokingly.
The two discussed a bit more about the coming meeting as well as the new product line before parting ways. Each leaving for their respective homes.
