The metal door slowly swung open, a sliver of light sneaked in, and Lan Xue, realizing the speed at which the enemy was operating the door, knew trouble was brewing, a sign of a cautious attack. Indeed, as the gap widened, Lan Xue spotted an iron lump appearing through it. As a soldier, she was all too aware of what that object was, and without hesitation, she rushed forward, her gaze fixed on the grenade, her face as cold as ancient ice that hadn't melted for eons.
With a "thud," Lan Xue burst through the metal door and, with lightning-fast reflexes, snatched the grenade from the air. Emerging from the basement, her eyes struggled to adjust to the bright light outside, so she simply closed them and pricked up her ears. Without a moment's hesitation, she threw the stolen grenade to one side and quickly rolled to the other to avoid any incoming bullets from the enemy.
