As one of the largest underground racing tracks in the Shanghai-Hangzhou Region, Yunshan Underground Racing Track held races every Friday. Typically, there were three races each night, but occasionally, four would be scheduled when heavyweight racers were invited, with a star racer featuring as the final act.
Generally, the three races were scheduled for 9 PM, 10 PM, and 11 PM, respectively. The race route started at the Yunshan Club, winding up the mountain road, descending from the other side of the peak, then circling back to the Yunshan Club.
By 8:50 PM, the occupancy rate for the top-floor hall of the Yunshan Club exceeded half; wealthy individuals from Jiangnan and surrounding cities were all directing their attention to the LCD screen at the front of the hall, which displayed the information and betting odds for the first race's four contestants.
