Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Little Husband

"Ugh."

A groan of pain escaped Qin Hao as he opened his eyes. His head was splitting; this was his first time drinking alcohol in his life, and he hadn't expected it to be so painful.

When he saw the stunningly beautiful woman beside him, sculpted as if from white jade, Qin Hao's eyes widened in shock, and he let out a terrified yell, "Ah."

"Husband." A languid voice came from the woman as she clung to Qin Hao, flipping over the blanket.

At this moment, Qin Hao also remembered what had happened.

He knew he had a physical flaw that prevented him from drinking alcohol, but he had just wanted to taste it. Unexpectedly, he got drunk from just one cup, and the next thing he knew, he was lying there, and a woman had picked him up.

At this thought, Qin Hao felt an urge to bang his head against the wall.

However, he also remembered that after they booked the room, he sobered up, as if it had been his own initiative.

Thinking of this made him break out in a cold sweat.

"You're awake." A pair of bright, shiny eyes stared at Qin Hao.

"Yes," Qin Hao said stiffly.

The woman hugged Qin Hao and declared assertively, "From today on, you're my little husband."

"Okay."

Having already been intimate with her, it would be too much not to take responsibility.

Now, Qin Hao could clearly see the woman's face.

A delicate, straight nose, large eyes, willow-shaped eyebrows, rosy, tender lips that curled slightly upwards, exuding a hint of mischief and cuteness, and fair skin as clear as though it were transparent, flawless.

She was an incredibly beautiful woman, far prettier than many celebrities known for their beauty.

Did this mean he had picked up a great bargain? Qin Hao wondered to himself.

"My name is Xia Mengchan, what's yours?" The woman asked, resting her head on Qin Hao's chest.

"My name is Qin Hao." Qin Hao responded honestly.

After exchanging names and phone numbers, the woman sat up, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

"Remember, from now on you are my little husband. If someone tries to bully me, you must help me," Xia Mengchan said before she left.

Somehow, Qin Hao felt like he had been manipulated.

After leaving the hotel, Xia Mengchan took out her phone and dialed a number.

"How did it go, did you succeed?" An excited voice of a girl came from the other side of the phone.

"I succeeded, but I wonder if he can really help me?" Xia Mengchan said, a bit worried.

She was gambling her body, betting on her future.

"You know my old man, don't you understand his taste?" the girl chuckled.

Xia Mengchan felt reassured then, a charming smile curling her lips as she spoke, "You little girl, just don't come crying to me later about me stealing your husband."

"I won't, I don't even want to get married in this lifetime, I want to be a single noblewoman," the girl said proudly.

Xia Mengchan: "…"

After ending the call, her expression was complex; she was unsure whether the step she had taken was right or wrong.

As for Qin Hao, after Xia Mengchan had left, he too got out of bed and left the place.

He hailed a cab and arrived at his destination, Baihai University, checked the time—it was four-thirty, still early enough.

Qin Hao registered at the enrollment office, not needing a dorm as his father had already arranged a place for him to stay.

College life, he was ready for it.

Everyone says college life is great, and he intended to thoroughly experience it.

"Hubby, someone's bullying me," called a crisp voice, and then Qin Hao felt an arm wrap around his own.

He glanced at the girl, then decisively pulled his hand away, shrugged at the tall student glaring at him, and said, "I don't know her."

Qin Hao turned and walked away nonchalantly, leaving the girl in disarray amidst the wind.

"Jerk," the girl stamped her little foot, glaring fiercely in the direction Qin Hao had left, and gritted her teeth, "Just you wait."

"Qianqian, I really like you, please be my girlfriend," said the tall young man with a passionate look.

Zhu Qian rubbed her forehead; she was close to being driven mad.

A three-story villa, exquisitely decorated—this was Qin Hao's residence in Xiushui Garden, one of the more upscale villa communities in Baihai City.

Qin Hao really couldn't understand how his stingy old man had managed to decide to buy such a villa for him.

He returned from school and touched his stomach, checked the time—it was already six, and it seemed he hadn't eaten anything all day.

"Going out to eat," Qin Hao made a snap decision.

Stepping out of the neighborhood, he randomly picked a small restaurant and enjoyed a hearty meal, feeling immensely satisfied afterwards.

He decided to go back to sleep; after a day and a night, Qin Hao felt quite exhausted.

"Buddy, you look really tired," a man in his forties stopped Qin Hao, looked him up and down, and frowned.

Qin Hao, without even lifting his eyelids, yawned and asked, "So?"

"I see you have a bit of kidney deficiency, I have a tonic for that, just 500 a bottle, one bottle lasts a whole treatment, guaranteed to cure your kidney deficiency," the man smiled confidently, as if sure Qin Hao would bite.

"Really that good?" Qin Hao appeared amazed.

The man nodded vigorously, boasting, "Look at me, I'm as strong as an ox, all thanks to drinking this magic potion."

Qin Hao looked him over, noting the man's thin frame that looked like it could be blown away by a breeze, his worn-out look, and lack of vitality—strong, he thought, was hardly the word for it, and was speechless.

"Let me see, kidney stones, high blood pressure, gastritis, herniated disc, and angioma," Qin Hao spotted the man's ailments with just a glance.

"How did you know that?" the man was stunned.

"Traditional medicine diagnosis by observation, and I've only used observation. Want me to elaborate more?" Qin Hao yawned, truly weary by now.

Only then did the man realize he'd encountered a real medical expert. He sheepishly smiled and turned to flee.

Qin Hao sniffed, muttering to himself, "I guess the guy knows a bit about medicine, that so-called magic potion actually does have some kidney-tonifying effects."

But, it was useless to him; he was just a bit tired, not genuinely suffering from kidney deficiency.

Back home, Qin Hao took a shower and then fell asleep.

In his dreams, he was still with a woman—by the looks of her, it was Xia Mengchan.
