The guard was really dumbfounded.
He didn't know how this man had suddenly appeared before him, nor did he understand how he could stroll around as leisurely and carefree as if he were in his own home.
In reality, Carl was very nervous; he bowed his head for the third time to check himself, his shoes were very clean, his attire relatively formal, and then there was the bouquet in his hand... Carl adjusted the angle of the ribbon on the bouquet before he was satisfied and looked straight ahead.
He and the guard made eye contact, and it was obvious that Carl could see the panic and the intent to call for someone on the guard's face.
"Oh, don't be nervous, I'm here for the banquet."
Who on earth attends a banquet by magically appearing without using the front door! The guard screamed inwardly.
