After office hours, Lilith was just about to head out when she was surrounded by Nova and Ava, both grinning ear to ear.
"You really want to be our friend, right?" Nova asked, practically bouncing on his feet.
"Of course she does!" Ava replied for her, excitement twinkling in her eyes.
Lilith found herself smiling at their enthusiasm. Before she could respond, Nova eagerly hugged her arm, careful not to cross any boundaries. "Let me drop you ladies off! Just let me grab my baby," he said with a playful wink, heading toward his car. Lilith couldn't help but laugh, feeling a warmth she hadn't felt in a long time. It was strange, but… nice. Comforting, even.
