Chapter 48 - Chapter 48. Third Match: Preliminary

For the final match, U.A. High's teacher "Cementoss" used materials and his Quirk to create a ring in the center of the sports field. The main referee, Midnight, explained the rules clearly:

"The rules are simple. You win by knocking your opponent out of the ring, making them unable to move, or getting them to say 'I give up.'"

"Don't be afraid of getting hurt. Our 'Recovery Girl' is on the sidelines, so go all out!"

"But using moves that could endanger your opponent's life will be considered a serious foul, and you'll be disqualified immediately! A true hero only acts to capture the enemy!"

With the rules explained clearly by Midnight, the participants listened carefully. They were the ones going up next.

"Now that the rules are clear, let's welcome the first group of contestants!"

The third match officially began. Midnight announced for the contestants to step into the ring. Amidst the audience's loud cheers, the contestants took the stage.

"First match, from Hero Class A, the electrifying boy who didn't stand out in the first two rounds, Kaminari Denki!"

"VS, from General Studies, the terrifying Quirk user who shocked everyone in the cavalry battle, but whose weakness is now exposed, Shinso Hitoshi!"

The "Voice Hero" Present Mic's quirky introductions, while helping students make an impression on the audience, were a bit too harsh... At least Kaminari Denki was now making a fuss, determined to stand out in this match.

"Is Shinso okay? His Quirk's weakness is exposed, and Kaminari's Quirk is very powerful at close range."

Ochako, sitting in the audience, asked Midoriya Izuku beside her. After all, they were teammates in the last round, so it's natural to be concerned.

"I don't know, it depends on whether Kaminari will attack first..."

Midoriya knew Kaminari Denki's Quirk well. After all, he had been in Class A for a long time, and they all had a general understanding of each other's Quirks. With his Quirk's weakness exposed, Shinso Hitoshi's chances of winning weren't high...

Both contestants stepped onto the stage, and with a wave from Midnight, the match was announced:

"Begin!"

At the referee's command, Kaminari Denki tightly shut his mouth. Shinso Hitoshi's "Brainwashing" Quirk, shown in the cavalry battle, required the opponent to respond to his words.

It was a purely invincible Quirk in the shadows, but on the open stage, it was limited. Opponents could easily guard against Shinso's Quirk!

Kaminari Denki did just that, closing his mouth and looking smugly at Shinso Hitoshi. The second round of the cavalry battle had been tough, but teaming up with Bakugo had brought unexpected trouble. Still, Kaminari was ready for revenge.

As Kaminari smugly thought about how to use his Quirk to defeat Shinso Hitoshi, his opponent charged silently.

"Try to trick the opponent into talking to trigger his Quirk?"

Shinso wasn't that foolish. Unless the opponent was really dumb, it wouldn't work. On the stage, only real skills mattered.

Though Shinso Hitoshi was still weak compared to Midoriya Izuku, who had been training his body for years, Shinso had been diligently learning Bajiquan for over six months. As Ojiro, the dojo master, said:

"You're still weak, but at least you can beat a goose now. Be proud! This is the result of your hard work!"

Though it sounded like a joke, it showed Shinso Hitoshi's progress. Besides his "Brainwashing" Quirk, his punching strength had also improved.

"Golden Eight Forms"

Also known as the Six Harmonies Eight Forms, or Beginner's Eight Forms, it was for newcomers like Shinso Hitoshi with no solid foundation. Just like learning to walk before running, Bajiquan followed the same principle.

The Beginner's Eight Forms were the basics of Bajiquan, and Shinso Hitoshi mainly practiced this at the Bajiquan Dojo. In other words, his punches could be deadly, especially with Bajiquan!

"What is he doing?"

Kaminari Denki was stunned. Shinso Hitoshi was supposed to trick him into talking, but he didn't know why Shinso charged at him so fiercely, even faster than Kaminari could use his Quirk.

At this moment, if Shinso couldn't catch his opponent's flaw, he would be a fool. As Kaminari instinctively failed to react, Shinso Hitoshi quickly approached.

"Elbow Strike"

With his right elbow, he fiercely struck Kaminari's abdomen. Kaminari felt such intense pain that he almost threw up his lunch and couldn't counterattack.

"Palm Push"

After the elbow strike, Shinso turned his arm into a palm, stepped hard on the ground, and pushed his palm against Kaminari Denki's abdomen with great force!

"Push Hammer"

In the third move, after pushing Kaminari away, Shinso turned his palm into a fist and hammered Kaminari's abdomen, the same spot hit by the elbow.

Kaminari, unable to stand after the heavy blow, collapsed on the stage, unable to get up, curled up in pain...

"Wow! So ruthless!!"

Seeing Kaminari Denki knocked down by Shinso Hitoshi in two moves, Ochako couldn't bear to watch her classmate's misery. She didn't expect Shinso to be so strong, and his punches were so powerful. Kaminari must be in a lot of pain...

"I think it's okay... Shinso already held back!"

Midoriya awkwardly said. If he used such moves, he might accidentally kill someone... Shinso was still relatively weak... so Bajiquan was quite dangerous.

"It seems Shinso remembered my advice. His moves were beautiful."

Ojiro Mashirao commented, surprising everyone around... Did Ojiro teach Shinso Hitoshi?

Because Ojiro felt sorry for Shinso Hitoshi after the second cavalry battle, he gave him some tips before the match, showing him how to hit certain spots to take down an opponent in one set.

"Ojiro, did you teach Shinso?"

"Shinso learned Bajiquan at my family's dojo. If anyone's interested, you can come to my house to learn Bajiquan."

Ojiro Mashirao took the opportunity to advertise his family's dojo. As a good son, he had to help his dad promote it.
