Pada Tahun 2019, Kemendikbud riset dan teknologi mengadakan sebuah kegiatan yang di beri nama Kemah Budaya Kaum Muda (KBKM) 2019 yang di hadiri oleh seluruh kaum muda nasional, dalam kontes perlombaan ini setiap daerah diminta mengirim sebuah proposal kecil yang menceritakan tentang apa masalah budaya yang terjadi sekarang di daerah masing-masing calon penerima bantuan dana KBKM, dengan Tema yang di usung oleh panitia pelaksana, ada seorang wanita yang berasal dari kabupaten kepulauan Mentawai kecamatan Siberut Selatan Desa maileppet tertarik untuk ikut ambil bagian dalam perlombaan tersebut, namanya akrab di sapa Cici, Cici dengan senang memberitahukan kepada saya bahwa ada lomba yang kemungkinan kita bisa ambil bagian di dalamnya, tanpa basa-basi saya juga tertarik dengan kegiatan tersebut dan saya mengajaknya langsung untuk ke basecamp Tato Mentawai nama basecamp nya adalah SITASIMATTAOI yang kebetulan itu adalah basecamp para pegiat tato Mentawai, kami menuju kesana dengan motor dan beberapa menit kemudian kami sampai, kebetulan waktu itu disana ada bajak paburut kerei, toinong lakeu, kora sakoddobat dan pitto gagai, setiba disana kami saling salam sapa dan ngk menye-menye kami langsung cerita apa tujuan kami ke kesana.
