Principal Kate stepped out of her car, adjusting her jacket as she waited for Mr. Patrick to catch up. She glanced at him as he approached.
"Don't you think it's suspicious that we left school this early?" Mr. Patrick asked, with a slightly nervous tone.
Kate rolled her eyes. "I'm the principal. I don't need anyone's permission to leave. Besides, this is more important than sitting in my office all day."
Mr. Patrick opened his mouth to respond, but Kate was already heading to the front door. She knocked, but the door creaked open by itself.
Her brows furrowed. "Huh? Why is their front door open?" she muttered, glancing at Mr. Patrick.
He shrugged, just as confused as she was. "I don't know. Maybe they forgot to close it?"
Kate stepped inside cautiously, calling out, "Kaylor? Justin? Are you here?"
