Kaylor and Justin were in Miss Pocket's basement. She had kept them there because Kaylor wouldn't stop screaming, which could attract her neighbors.
Kaylor paced the basement floor, her frustration was evident as she tapped her foot against the concrete. "I can't believe this is happening," she muttered. Justin sat nearby with his head hung low, his guilt was evident.
"I'm sorry, Kaylor," Justin said softly. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
She stopped pacing and glared at him. "I know you didn't mean for any of this to happen, Justin."
"How could I have let this happen?!!" Justin's voice rose a tad, filled with shame. "It's like I wasn't in control—like my mind wasn't mine anymore."
Kaylor's anger slowly faded as she took a deep breath. "It's not your fault," she finally said. "There was nothing you could've done. She compelled you, Justin. That's what they do."
Justin looked at her with confusion. "Wait...what are you saying?"
