'Delvin, come on, let's go help?' Zauzo suggested.
Zauzo, one must know when to fight and when not to. Right now, the best course of action is to lie low.
'I am beginning to think that you are scared.' Zauzo continued to push the matter further.
You can't be far from the truth. Delvin admitted.
In the middle of the conversation between Delvin and Zauzo, a ding-dong sound reverberated through Delvin's brain.
'Skylark upgrading,' the system automatically began to update. A new version of 2.5 firmware is in progress. Delvin could only feel his brain spinning around as if he was twisting his entire body and head uncontrollably, causing dizziness and a strange feeling forcefully expelling the stomach's contents out of the mouth, troubled him. When the system was done, with the upgrade, an automated voice went on to notify Delvin of the changes that had taken effect.
'ATTRIBUTES;
Your intellect has been upgraded from 5.5 to 5.8,
Your eyesight has increased from 2.5 to 3, giving you a third eye and insight.
Stamina has increased from 2.5 to 5.0,
Agility has been upgraded from 2.5 to 5.0.
A new skill set is still pending.' Skylark pronounced the new changes in Delvin's system.
Delvin was interested in the latest new update, which was a new skill set. He was about to ask Skylark when he got interrupted.
'Because of your bravery today, the skylark system has decided to credit you with one lucky free spin. Do you wish to use your free spin or not? You have two minutes before the offer expires.' Skylark informed Delvin, questioningly.
Yes, draw the spin. Delvin did not delay.
The spinning wheel appeared on the hologram display in his brain.
Spin the wheel! Delvin ordered, and the rotor wheel started spinning much faster than the last time he observed it. All this was taking place as he lay on the ground about two thousand miles away from the great massacre. He could still see all the things the alien army was doing, it's just that now his distraction is the system.
The rotor wheel stopped at the number twenty-nine, color green. There was a spark on the hologram display in his brain like fireworks and then the words followed thereafter.
'Congratulations Mister Delvin Dred, you have acquired a martial arts skill set, and a golden sword packed in your storage space. You can access the storage space when the system is active.' Skylark briefed Delvin about the new skill set he had received from the system.
'Skill set activation.' Skylark continued, 'Before the system activation, I will run you through the background of the power at your disposal. "The Four Golden Pillars of Truth." The four Golden Pillars of truth were formally introduced and used by the four immortal gods. Gladdenia, the god from the north, was the first one to master the ability to channel his inner strength into any weapon, becoming the most formidable warrior by subduing all the other gods. In other words, he became the reining champion and dictated the rules for the other gods. That meant the terms and conditions for how they should live, what to do and what not to. Just like any other living being, the desire for power became his driving force.' Skylark paused to give Delvin a breathing space and to make sure he understood.
And Skylark carried on with his narration, 'Among the gods subdued emerged another one with a different kind of force, the god from the east, Canthiontony, sometimes referred to as the god of love. The god from the north had a banquet. Therefore, he invited all the gods from the other three realms, that are, the gods of the east, south and the west and their subordinates. The actual day for the banquet had arrived, the day was just in its prime stages, the banquet had officially begun, there was music, drinking, chatting, new acquaintances. Introductions boomed up as these creatures gathered together. The god from the north, the overall ruler, requested the other three gods to come to the high table because they were busy mingling with other immortal beings. As they found themselves on the high table, the god of the east saw the most beautiful living being of their time, the god of the west. Her outward appearance made certain subordinates and subjects of their kingdoms faint because of her super extremely glorious ecstatic beauty.'
Delvin interrupted the story.
Skylark, how does this story help with the skill set? Couldn't we just skip the history part? Delvin was not a fan of history. He loved science, so he found history to be a bit time-consuming and boring. That is why he wanted to skip it.
'No Delvin, it's vital you understand where everything is coming from. Only then will you appreciate and respectfully use the gift bestowed on you wisely.' Skylark rejected Delvin's proposal and lectured him on its importance.
Delvin was keenly aware that there was no possibility of arguing with Skylark, the system. Most of the time he tried he lost, well, relentlessly, he saved himself some energy by accepting his lot.
Alright, go on, it looks like I am not leaving this place any time soon anyway.
Skylark proceeded, 'When the god from the east looked into the eyes of the god from the south, he saw richness, wealth, not that of money but the heart, and he desired that with all his fiber of his being. And in the same way, the god from the west looked into the eyes of the god from the east. She saw the poorness, of course, not that of lacking physical needs, but of the heart, she too wanted that with every breath in her soul. So the two merged and formed the first love to ever exist. Canthiontony, after encountering the god from the east and experiencing the most powerful weapon ever to exist, and that is love. Canthiontony found a way to infuse love in his fighting style. He was the first one to rise up and challenge the god of the north. The battle turned out to be a stalemate. Making the two gods be on equal footing.' Skylark paused momentarily before picking up his history lesson.
'Donatron, the god from the south, mastered the art of harnessing the power of the wind, which had turned it into a deadly weapon. He could fight his opponents without reaching close to them, just from a distance. He, too, challenged the god from the north. The match ended in a stalemate.'
'Shanazer, the goddess from the west with her extremely super-gorgeous and filthy-rich, but not just outwardly, even inside her heart, harnessing the power of transformation. She could change, shift shapes, twist her body into whatever weapon or creature she desired. And she had a fight with the god from the north and the results were the same as the rest of the other matches. Therefore, the four immortal gods formed a truce and made four weapons, infusing them with their found new energy and that one of those weapons is what you have been granted.'
