Chapter 22 - Unbearable Agony

'It doesn't matter who I am, what's important is that this young lady has been poisoned.'

Shock on the faces of all the people became evident.

'Stop making fun of the situation, young lady. That is a very serious allegation. And on whom do you base your accusation?'

The manager questioned Shanazer with terror in his eyes. He added, 'This is a serious matter.'

All the people seemed to be having similar dominant questions. How did she know? They did agree with the manager by the shaking of their heads.

Shanazer did not respond. That in itself made her appear guilty. Paying little attention to people's judgmental attitudes, she scanned through the gathered crowd, hoping she could catch the culprit in their midst.

As she followed her intuition, right at that instant she noticed a middle-aged man attempting to slip away. Instinctively, she began following the man.

The rest of the audience considered the possibility that she must be escaping the questions pinned on her by the manager. The security looked upon the manager for further instructions.

The mid-aged man dressed as a waiter felt the sensation of someone coming after him. His aroused mind pushed him to look behind, seeing Shanazer, who predicted that the young lady had been poisoned. Fear struck him heavily. He quickened his pace, heading for the door.

'Excuse me sir?'

She shouted hurriedly, as she had doubled her steps.

Shanazer's aura sucked the man's breath. He sensed a unique kind of danger. He pretended to have not heard anything, fear had consumed him. When fear becomes overwhelming, what would be the next step? No doubt running could be the possible way out.

As expected, he started running before he could reach the open door to escape. Shanazer thrust a six-star-edged blade cutter. It flew across the air with a whistling sound, and soon it cut through the muscle behind his knee. Before he could reach the door, he fell to the floor with a thud.

The crowd gasped in amazement because blood had sprinkled out onto the glass door, unable to tell what had just happened. The man dressed as a waiter began to crawl, still attempting to escape. Who is this young lady? A question roamed in most people's minds.

One moment she claimed that the young lady who had just collapsed had been poisoned. Now she's after a waiter who suddenly trips and falls to the floor, blood staining the glass door. Countless questions were triggered by the bystanders.

'I think this young lady is possessed by the devil,' a seemingly brave soul judged her, her words loud enough that Xander picked them. Consmart probably heard the woman as well.

'What poison did you use on her?'

Shanazer joggled the brain of the mid-aged waiter. Having reached him, he ceased his attempt to escape, turning to face Shanazer, who he perceived as a devil incarnation.

The manager and his security team arrived at the scene. A few minutes later, during Shanazer's interrogation, the security wanted to apprehend her, but the manager stopped them in their tracks. He wanted to know how far the drama before him would extend.

'Look at your stabbed leg, it's getting darker and darker, it implies that it will get worse each moment that passes by. What I stabbed you with is it's a deadly venomous poison. It will keep spreading to the rest of the body until it strikes your heart, then death comes next, but before it comes to that, you will endure excruciating pain you have never had before. You must have started experiencing it, right?'

She took a breather, 'However, if you give me what I want, I will give you the antidote to save you, and you will have saved an innocent girl you attempted to murder. So what is it going to be?'

The deadly venomous poison in his leg spread extremely fast; it had moved from the knee down to the feet, now rushing through his thigh. An unbearable agony became the one and only thing in his body he felt. It devoured everything inside the leg. In a short while, it touched his waist. Now he thought if it moved up to his upper body, it would be beyond how he could hold himself.

He imagined how it would feel when the deadly venomous poison in his body spread to the rest of his body. What would he become of him? How much pain will he experience? He couldn't fathom the pain he might be able to endure.'

'You have a decision to make.'

As if reading his mind, she reminded the fake waiter. The manager probably understood exactly what Shanazer tried to do. He watched silently and from an extreme perspective. She crossed her arms, looking very relaxed, as if she had all the time in the world. He looked at her and the way she was stalling, the pain he felt could kill him gradually if he waited longer. He perceived Shanazer as the most ruthless person he ever encountered.

'I don't know the name of the poison. I operated on instructions. I couldn't ask what it was. I do have some left.'

He struggled to speak just as he pushed through the excruciating pain to remove a small black-wrapped plastic piece from his pocket. His hand shivered as he stretched open to hand over the remains of the poison.

Shanazer snatched the black-wrapped plastic, untied it, then smelled the content.

'It's a deadly poison from the Canstilento valley, a die-slow poison. If she has already passed out, it means the dosage must have been too high.'

Synthen lectured Shanazer.

'Synthesize the antidote!' Shanazer requested impatiently.

In seconds, a pill found itself in Shanazer's hand. She rushed at great speed back to the unconscious held by her grandfather's hands.

She straight away opened up the First Aid box without asking, picked up a syringe and an injection, fixed them together, and placed the blue purple pill in the syringe. She then sucked some water into the syringe. A few seconds later the blue-purple pill melted into a pinkish soluble color.
