Chapter 18 - 18

A group consisting of one boy and three young girls was walking along a path. Let thought about eating a few leaves but refrained, thinking it would look strange. Soon after, Makana found a fruit tree, and they all ate until they were full.

As Let took a bite of the fruit, he closed his eyes. With his eyes closed, he saw Raphiel spending quality time with his wife, and a slight smile formed on his face. Although their relationship was a bit odd, Raphiel had found a wife who loved him with all her heart. Let was happy for him and then opened his eyes, looking at the girls, thinking, "He may have found a loving spouse, but that's not a reason for me to envy him. After all, I have also made good friends."

Let asked the others, "Are we friends?" and the girls simply responded with a gentle smile. Sometimes, a simple facial expression could contain meanings worth pages of writing.

Elena placed her hand on Let's shoulder and said, "We're your friends." Then, she pinched the cheeks of the little boy in front of her, furrowed her brows with mock anger, and said, "If you ask such a question again, I'll be mad."

Although Let was a bit uncomfortable with this behavior, he didn't resist. "I'm sorry, sister, it won't happen again."

All the girls laughed at Let's cute mannerisms. Gradually, they began to see Let as their little brother. After a short break, they took some fruit with them and continued on their journey.

When evening came, Makana lit a fire with a basic spark spell, and they camped together. Let offered to take turns on watch and volunteered for the first shift. Freya gave him a pocket watch and went to sleep with the other girls.

Let spread his Visiok cells over a wide area and began to place the surrounding air into his Dimensional Pocket. There was a stream nearby where they had resupplied water; Let didn't forget to take a few tons of water from it. One could never know when they would need water.

Let also placed some Visiok cells into the soil. After he left, these cells would aggressively transfer everything in the area to the Dimensional Pocket. In this way, Let would have half of what he needed to establish an ecosystem in the Dimensional Pocket.

Let wasn't in a rush to steal the kingdom's soil outright, as he feared this might bring trouble upon him. In a few days, he would try this in a simulation to learn what consequences his actions might have.

Let kept watch throughout the night, not wanting to disturb the girls' sleep. Makana was the first to wake up, and Let had to sleep at her insistence. Despite not being human, he realized he could sleep and experienced a peaceful dream.

Let woke up but continued to pretend to sleep, launching the simulation. Meanwhile, his sisters were watching him.

[Day 1: You continued your journey toward the village.]

[Day 2: You arrived at the village. Freya had come to treat a child who couldn't walk, but there was no hope of recovery since all the nerves below the waist were damaged. You pitied the child, and while everyone slept that evening, you healed him. It only took a few Visiok cells, instructed to mimic body nerves.]

[Day 3: A miracle happened, and the child recovered. Everyone thanked Freya for this miracle. Coincidentally, a demigod was in the village, the daughter of a goddess of healing. She was intrigued that a normal girl had healed someone she couldn't, so she approached Freya.

At this point, she saw you and destroyed your soul, claiming you were a monster. Due to the severe damage your soul endured, you didn't realize you were mistaken for a monster soul.]

[Please select your reward:] 1- A small amount of anatomical knowledge 2- Knowledge you gained about divine powers

"I can learn anatomical knowledge on my own, even though it's not significant, so I choose option 2."

A small amount of knowledge entered Let's mind, and he now had at least some understanding of what divine power was. In fact, he could protect himself against it by using the Dimensional Pocket. Additionally, he could use this energy to heal his soul, so he decided to gather as much Divine Energy as possible in the next simulation.

Let decided to place his soul in the Dimensional Pocket, making it easier to defend against attacks on his soul. In his current state, only very few could even attempt to attack his soul.

In hopes of attracting less attention, Let modified his inner anatomy to resemble a human more closely. It was now much harder to detect.

Let stopped pretending to sleep and continued on his way with the others. Along the way, Let asked Freya about demigods. He learned that demigods represented the gods on earth. Additionally, most of them were in the capital, for reasons similar to Danmachi.

Demigods were blessing people on behalf of the gods because the world prevented them from using all their powers, but a blessed person could fight on their behalf. The blessed could join the adventurers' guild, sacrifice monster cores to the gods, and gain power in return, but they were bound to obey the commands of the one who blessed them.

In short, adventurers were people who made themselves slaves to the demigods for more power. They had quite an interesting power system.

Let wanted to join the adventurers' guild but didn't want to become a slave, so he decided to exploit this with his cheat ability.

Time flowed by like water, and another day passed. Let restarted the simulation, deciding to follow a completely different path this time.

[Day 1: You arrive at the village. Freya can't heal the sick child; that evening, you secretly heal the child.]

[Day 2: Everyone begins to celebrate the child's recovery. The demigod returns and sees you. This time, she believes you're a type of zombie due to the lack of a soul and attacks you with Divine Energy.

You wave your hand and trap her attack in the Dimensional Pocket. With sudden inspiration, you realize the truth about Divine Energy: the defining aspect of Divine Energy's ownership is whose soul resides within it. You destroy the soul fragments within the Divine Energy and replace them with your own soul.

Suddenly, Divine Energy belonging to you appears around you, the only difference being that your Divine Energy is a pale gray, whereas the healing goddess's Divine Energy was green.

The demigod apologized for a moment but then realized you had stolen her Divine Energy and, with the help of the healing goddess, killed you.]

[Please select your reward:] 1- Knowledge about anatomy 2- Your own Divine Energy 3- Experience with Divine Energy

"Option 2, because if that energy was mine from the beginning, she wouldn't have realized the truth. This way, no one can accuse me of stealing Divine Energy."

A Divine Energy with no god's soul within appeared in the Void Pocket. Let combined it with his own soul, making it entirely his. He could now be considered a demigod, but he couldn't reveal this openly, as the fact that he wasn't backed by a real god might come to light.

While traveling, Let asked Freya some questions and was relieved by her answers. He learned there were demigods who, for various reasons, couldn't reveal who their parents were; they usually chose to keep this truth hidden because they were illegitimate children. This provided a perfect cover for Let.

They arrived at the village, and Freya went to treat the child. She spoke to the village chief, and upon learning of their situation, decided to help them. The village chief provided the girls with basic necessities, a place to stay, food, and a little money. Of course, he didn't forget to give Let a small allowance, although, honestly, he didn't believe Let was that powerful.

Taking a big risk, Let went to the demigod's home and knocked on the door. Gnell, a beautiful lady who was a demigod, opened the door. Gnell's expression immediately turned into a frown.

"This is my territory. Why are you here?"

Let respectfully said, "I apologize for disturbing your peace, beautiful lady; my name is Let. My father didn't teach me anything, so I don't know anything that others know. I came here to ask you to teach me."

Gnell's gaze softened a bit, and she gently invited Let inside. Let humbly accepted her offer. Gnell made herbal tea for them and placed it on the table in front of Let. She sat on the single chair across from him and looked at him.

Gnell crossed her legs and looked at Let. When she saw him take a sip of the herbal tea, she sighed and said, "Drinking tea before the host in another demigod's home is a form of insult." Let immediately placed the herbal tea back on the table and apologized.

Gnell inwardly thought, "It seems it's going to be a tiring day."
