Chereads / Versatile Mage : Reborn As Mo Fan / Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Feet Covered in Broken Bones

Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Feet Covered in Broken Bones

Unknowingly, dusk was approaching. The outer city walls had completely disappeared over the horizon, and all buildings had been destroyed by the tide of undead.

Inside the safety zone, those who had previously thought that this rehearsal was a waste of lives were now feeling both fortunate and terrified.

Fortunate because they had been brought into the safety barrier ahead of time, sparing their lives.

Terrified because they did not know whether they would see tomorrow's sunrise again.

At the clock tower, the group watched as the endless sea of bones overwhelmed Mo Fan. The sheer number of skeletons was overwhelming. No matter how powerful Mo Fan's destructive abilities were, no matter how many different magic spells he cast, he was still submerged beneath them.

If it weren't for the glow of the star map and constellations that marked his magic, it would be easy to think that Mo Fan had been swallowed whole.

At this point, two towering piles of bones had appeared in the copper mirror's view. Despite bearing some injuries, Mo Fan fought on, seeming to grow stronger with each battle.

"Howl~~!"

In the midst of his intense battle, Mo Fan suddenly heard a howl from his wolf cub. Turning around, he saw that the crimson skeleton general from before had driven its bone spear through the wings of the Winged Azure Wolf.

Yes, it was the same skeletal warrior that Mo Fan had previously knocked back with a hammer.

Though the Winged Azure Wolf was severely wounded, Mo Fan did not stop to tend to it. This blood-red skeleton general was no ordinary leader—it was a supreme commander. Even if Mo Fan wanted to kill it, it wouldn't be easy.

That's why he needed the Winged Azure Wolf to keep it occupied.

In fact, if they were fighting in a more spacious area, the Winged Azure Wolf could hold its own, since it could fly. But in this cramped space, the wolf, being of a lower rank, was at a clear disadvantage.

Fortunately, the endless tide of skeleton warriors, skeletons, and corpses were finally cleared out by Mo Fan's relentless bombardment of attacks.

After fighting for so long, even Mo Fan felt a bit dazed.

Shaking his head to clear it, Mo Fan shouted, "Hold it off a little longer!"

The Winged Azure Wolf seemed to hear Mo Fan's command and responded with a low growl.

Though the wolf was barely hanging on after its latest battle, with one wing pierced and its body covered in wounds, it was holding back from rushing headlong into danger. It had grown smarter from its time spent fighting alongside Mo Fan, knowing to play it safe and avoid reckless moves that would get it killed.

As the Winged Azure Wolf stalled for time, a golden light began to gather in Mo Fan's hands. At the same time, flames from his Calamity Fire and azure flames from his contracted flame spirit began to merge into a massive sword.

After about ten minutes, the giant sword was fully formed in Mo Fan's hand.

"Coronal Light!"

The light from Mo Fan's magic, along with the flames summoned by the Flame Belle, condensed into a giant sword. Though it wasn't a physical object, it was an attack created by the combined forces of Mo Fan and his Flame Belle spirit!

The enormous sword, filled with destructive power, sliced through the air and headed straight for the giant skeleton commander. The commander let out a startled roar, sensing the impending danger. It tried to block the attack with its massive bone arms.

But with a deafening crash, the sword cleaved through its bone arms as though they were brittle wood.

Flames and radiant energy exploded in all directions, filling the air with searing heat. The skeleton commander's shattered remains hit the ground, raising a cloud of dust. The energy from the sword continued to flood into the commander's body, unleashing even more destructive force.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

A tidal wave of fire rose up, engulfing not only the skeleton commander but also melting down parts of the bone piles that had accumulated on the ground.

"Howl~~!"

The Winged Azure Wolf, after enduring relentless attacks, finally lifted its head and fired a scorching beam of energy directly at the commander.

"Boom!"

With the combined destructive power of Mo Fan and the Winged Azure Wolf, even the very ground seemed to tremble. Yet, even after such a devastating attack, the skeletal commander was still not completely destroyed!

In the next instant, Mo Fan appeared right in front of the still-shaking skeleton, his lightning-infused arm drawn back into a fist. Thick, crackling bolts of lightning shot out from all around him.

"Zzzzt!!"

As Mo Fan's lightning-imbued punch connected, the lightning surged forward, arcing for nearly a kilometer!

The powerful surge of lightning followed the trajectory of Mo Fan's punch, and even though the skeleton commander tried to defend itself with its shattered arms, it could not withstand the relentless force. Piece by piece, the skeleton's arms were obliterated.

"Boom!"

"Crash! Crash! Crash!"

With its arms destroyed, the skeleton commander's entire body was paralyzed by the lightning that coursed through it. Any attempt to rebuild or repair its broken body was futile.

"Fiery Fist: Flaming Dragon Fist!"

Mo Fan's fire wings spread wide as he leaped behind the skeleton. The commander sensed the danger but was powerless to stop it.

A fiery dragon materialized, shooting forward like a meteorite-formed fist, and struck the back of the skeleton's head!

"Boom!!"

The flaming dragon exploded on impact, with azure flames engulfing the skeleton's frame. Yet, despite Mo Fan's relentless assault, the skeleton commander still managed to stumble forward, refusing to be completely destroyed.

"Shadow Spike!"

Not willing to give it a chance to recover, Mo Fan unleashed his next attack. Although he had not yet mastered advanced shadow magic, his mid-level skills had been pushed to the fourth level, and the power of his Shadow Spike had increased greatly. The spikes pierced through the skeleton commander's legs, pinning it to the ground.

"Roar!!!"

The blood-red skeleton commander roared in fury and frustration. This human, a mere mage, had pushed it to the brink of destruction. For a commander of the undead, this was an unbearable humiliation.

It turned its head slowly, and the red glow in its eyes intensified into a deadly spell.

"Whoosh!"

"Zzzzzt!!!"

Mo Fan dodged just in time as beams of searing light shot out from the commander's eyes, powerful enough to disintegrate anything in their path.
