Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: Storming the Bell Tower, Meeting Han Ji

Mo Fan arrived on the street, quickly completing a star map to summon a creature. Mu Bai and Zhao Kunsan were about to stop him, but before they could act, a massive magic wolf appeared before them.

They were no strangers to this immense, winged creature. Neither were the people on the street — it was the Winged Azure Wolf, a beast whose species had once ravaged Bo City. While the destruction was caused by the Black Church, it was the Winged Azure Wolves that had directly attacked the city.

This time, however, the people didn't panic. They saw the wolf emerge from a summoned star map, recognizing it as the work of a Summoning Mage. They also knew that the Winged Azure Wolf leader had been killed by Bo City's chief commander.

Zhao Kunsan stared at Mo Fan in shock — was Mo Fan this powerful now? Even Mu Bai, who had long considered Mo Fan a rival, was stunned. Mo Fan had gained control over a commander-level summoning beast!

Before Mu Bai and Zhao could respond, Mo Fan had already mounted the Winged Azure Wolf and took off toward the Bell Tower Magic Association.

Even though the wolf was a summoned beast, its massive presence caused a wave of fear among the citizens. If not for the fact that the wolf wasn't attacking, people might have fled in terror. Eventually, they realized that the summoner was a mage, but it was still shocking to see someone so boldly flying through the city on a magic beast toward the prestigious Bell Tower Magic Association.

As Mo Fan flew closer, a voice echoed in his mind, "Young man, if you don't stop, we'll have to take action."

"I need to meet with President Han Ji," Mo Fan responded.

"Even if you want to see President Han Ji, you can't cause a panic in the city!" the voice, a mind mage, replied.

"You must be Zuo Feng, one of the city's guardian mages, right?" Mo Fan asked.

Zuo Feng sounded surprised. "You know of me?"

"I've heard of you," Mo Fan replied. "I'm Mo Fan, a formal member of the National Team. I have important information for Han Ji. It's urgent. If you can arrange a meeting with him, I'll stop now."

Curious, Zuo Feng was unsure but responded, "What's so urgent? You can tell me."

"I need to speak to Han Ji directly," Mo Fan insisted.

Zuo Feng sighed. "Fine, I'll pass the message along and see if he's willing to meet."

Mo Fan stopped moving forward but kept the Winged Azure Wolf summoned. However, a group of Sky Eagle Mages, elite guards of the city, surrounded him.

Seeing this, Zuo Feng intervened, stopping the mages from attacking. They were shocked by Mo Fan's brazenness but couldn't act without provocation.

At the Bell Tower Magic Association, Han Ji, the president, was busy working when Zuo Feng arrived.

"President," Zuo Feng began, "there's a young man who wishes to meet with you. He's a formal member of the National Team."

Han Ji raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "He summoned a magic beast and demanded to see me? Interesting. Did he say why?"

"He wouldn't say, only that it's urgent," Zuo Feng replied.

Lu Huan, the chief of the city's guards, scoffed. "Does this kid think the president has nothing better to do?"

But before they could dismiss the matter, another figure entered the room — Councilman Zhu Meng.

Zuo Feng greeted him with respect, and Zhu Meng asked, "Did you say the young man is Mo Fan from Bo City?"

"Yes, Councilman," Zuo Feng confirmed.

Zhu Meng nodded. "I know him. He helped us a great deal during the Bo City disaster and later in Hangzhou. Let me go with you. This might be important."

Intrigued, Han Ji agreed. "Bring him in."

Zuo Feng returned to Mo Fan just in time to stop him from charging forward. "The president will see you now," he said.

Mo Fan dismissed the Winged Azure Wolf and followed Zuo Feng into the Bell Tower Magic Association, where he met Han Ji, Zhu Meng, and Lu Huan.

Zhu Meng greeted him. "Kid, what brings you here?"

"I'm glad you're here," Mo Fan replied. "It'll make explaining this much easier."

Mo Fan turned to Han Ji and urgently explained, "President Han Ji, the Black Vatican is planning a major attack. What happened in Bo City was only a test. Their true goal is here, in the Ancient Capital. By tonight, they'll unleash a storm of death, using the Nine Nether Dew to make the undead immune to sunlight. Even during the day, they'll be able to overrun the city. If we don't start evacuating the outer city immediately, the losses will be catastrophic."

Mo Fan continued, "The rain that's been falling isn't normal. It's summoning the most powerful undead, the Eight Undead Lords, and they're preparing to wake up. If we don't act now, it'll be too late."

Han Ji, Zhu Meng, and Lu Huan were stunned. Mo Fan's information was critical, but it was hard to believe.

"There's more," Mo Fan added. "The leader of the Black Vatican, Red Cardinal Salan, is already in the Ancient Capital. And their High Priest, Mu He, has vanished. We don't have much time."
