It was night; Asoria's twin moons shone high up in the sky, shining their moonlight through the glass panes inside a large luxurious room.
Inside the room sat a silver haired man behind his desk, going through some documents, Ocaasionaly he would take one out from the pile and put his seal over it.
Suddenly, a knock on the door caused the man to look up from his desk. The door slowly slid to its side, revealing the figure of a woman wearing a crown on her head.
The woman had an ice-cold expression. Most considered his wife incapable of showing emotions, but one look and Draven could tell.
"You seem tired." Draven put down the documents and stood up from his chair, walking towards the set of sofas at the side of the room.
Nyssa did so as well, collapsing with her back on the sofa, completely abandoning her usual noble grace.
Draven sat down opposite her and pressed a button on the side of the table in front of him. Soon, a maid arrived with some tea and refreshment.
After she left, Draven sat straight and began pouring out two cups.
"How was your day?" He asked handing one cup to Nyssa, and began pouring his own.
"Myria's awakening ceremony was… hectic, but still went excellent. With the amount of mana she generated, I suspect she might be even more talented than Faelan." Nyssa spoke while taking a sip from her cup.
"That's good." Draven smiled while taking a sip himself. "I'll check later. What grade core she has awakened."
"But that's not why you are so exhausted, is it? He questioned, looking deep into her eyes.
Nyssa let out a heavy sigh. "It's your other son. Orion was caught today trying to steal some horses from the stables."
Listening to this, Draven put down his cup and began chuckling.
"This is no laughing matter." Nyssa reprimanded with a serious expression. "That boy doesn't listen, no matter how much I punish him. One of these days, he is going to get himself in trouble."
"He is just like you, back when you were a child," Draven spoke smiling.
Nyssa, on the other hand, narrowed her eyes.
"What?" Draven laughed again. "Seris told me about the time you stole your father's horse and rode it out of the city."
Nyssa loosened her eyebrows. "That was different. I was very careful when it came to such things. Besides, I grew out of it."
"And so will he; you are overthinking things again. He is only five years old and spends most of his time sitting in the library. He is an amazing kid. Trust me, one day, you will be complaining about how he isn't a child anymore." Draven spoke reassuringly.
"I suppose you are right." Nyssa sighed. "Still, I don't know from where he learned how to talk and act like a grown-up. First, it was Faelan, now him. This must come from your side of the family 'cause mine wasn't like this at all."
"Those kids like each other too much for it to come from my family." Draven chuckled and picked up his cup once again.

I am bored. I am bored. I am bored. I was so bored that I couldn't help but repeat this single sentence over and over again.
My research about the war had hit rock bottom months ago. I had searched through the entire history section and scrubbed through every single book from the forbidden section I could get my hands on. Yet, I hadn't been able to find anything.
Still, it wasn't like I wasn't busy. I had simply devoted all the extra time in the library to my mana manipulation training and improving my bloodline density.
But even that had hit a roadblock. Once again, I turned my head to look at my status page.

After years of work and several sleepless nights, I finally managed to level up mana manipulation to Level 5. I was very happy when that happened. Despite not having a core, it had become very easy to manipulate the little amount of mana I had inside my body.
The problem however, came after that. Turns out this was the limit, I needed a mana core to further level the skill up. The moment I saw this, I had rushed to my father's office completely prepared to beg to start cultivating early.
Surprisingly, he had agreed. My core awakening had been scheduled for tomorrow. Which was good and all, the problem however was something else.
I AM SO BORED!!! I shouted in the air. Myria was busy with her training, and Faelan had lessons going on, which left me all alone with my thoughts.
I can't believe I was missing hanging out with a bunch of children. Sighing to myself, I stood up from my seat.
Perhaps there were other ways to look at this. Come to think of it, this WAS the first time in six years that I had truly been free. Wasn't this also a good opportunity?
I immediately stepped outside of my room. This was a good line of thought. I was a prince afterall, some would argue I was one of the most powerful person in the kingdom. Surely, there were some things I could do.
I passed by the garden and saw two boys about eight year old tending the bushes along with a gardner. Looking at them trimming the rose bush, I suddenly had an idea and my eyes lit up in delight.
I wasn't thinking about gardening, no. Instead, "You two," I called out to the two boys. "Come here."
