-Levi POV-
I dragged Louis to one of the rooms on this floor after I heard what he was talking about with the host. I know that's not something good.
"What are you trying to do, Louis Ackerman!" I yelled at him and sent him my death glare.
"What is it, Levi? I'm just trying to find my true love. I'm going to make Hanabi Charlotte Auclair mine soon, so don't be on my way." This time, he gave me his death glare, as if he'd kill anyone who's on his way.
"You're crazy, Louis. If you do this, Hanabi Charlotte Auclair will not accept you. You're going to hurt his brother's feelings." I said, grabbing his collar.
"Who cares about his feelings? That's all. I just have to announce it. He's an idiot for falling for me. I guess I'm just better than you, Levi." Louis smirks.
"You, what do you take Haruka's feelings for? You're going too far, Louis!" This time, I couldn't control my anger anymore. I punched Louis in the right cheek.
"Huh? I told you before, right? I don't give a fuck about his feelings. I don't even like men. Kissing him alone makes me feel sick already!" I grabbed him and was ready to punch him again, but then a familiar voice stopped me from continuing.
"What did you just say?"
Haruka? What is he doing here?
"Senpai, please don't misunderstand. I didn't mean that, senpai." Louis replied, looking anxious. Even at times like this, he still wants to lie.
"Enough! Enough Louis! I have had enough of this already! You. Don't ever show your face in front of me again!" Haruka yells. Tears streamed down his cheeks. I want to comfort him now.
"Onii-chan!" This time, it's Hanabi. How could these two siblings find us here?
"Onii-chan, are you okay?" Hanabi hurriedly goes to Haruka's side, and then she looks at me.
Haruka doesn't answer Hanabi. Instead, he makes his way towards the door, leaving the room alone.
"Onii-chan!" Hanabi yells, but Haruka is already out of our sight. Hanabi walks towards Louis.
SLAP!
She slaps Louis on the cheek.
"Charlotte, please don't misunderstand me. I did all this because I love you." Louis begged, trying to grab Hanabi's hand, but she quickly slapped Louis' hand away.
"You love me? Louis Ackerman, do you know the person I love the most in this world? Yeah, it's my brother, Haruka Charles Auclair. And do you know the person I hate the most in this world? It's the person who breaks my brother's heart, and it's you, Louis Ackerman! No matter how many times you say you love me, the fact that I hate you will never change. Don't you ever show yourself in front of us again!" Before she leaves the room, Hanabi yells at him and looks at me again.
"Are you happy now, Levi?! Of course, I bet you're the one who set this up, huh?" He stands up and tries to punch me, but then I stop him.
"Enough, Louis. Don't you realize this now? You lost. You lost everything. I told you not to use people. Now, not only Haruka hates you, but Hanabi too." I told him that, tightening the grip of my palm on his fist.
"Hah. I know you set this up, Levi. I know it. You cannot accept the way Haruka looks at me with love, right?" This kid is seriously going crazy right now.
"Talking to you is useless now, and you should say looked instead of looks. He won't look at you like that anymore. And Louis Ackerman, starting tomorrow, you're no longer an employee at the Ackerman Group France Branch. You're going to work at the New York Branch under Uncle Kenny." With my cold eyes, I look at him.
"Huh? Who are you to fire me and tell me to move somewhere else? I'm sure our father will not agree with this." He said that confidently.
"Yeah, father will not easily agree with me. But if I tell him that Mr. Auclair resigned because of you, he will agree with me without hesitation. After all, our father values Mr. Auclair more than his own sons. And Mr. Auclair will surely send me a resignation letter later. So, you should just follow what I said if you don't want your father to disgrace you." I look down at him, and he's clearly afraid right now.
"Let go of me and do whatever you want!" Louis slaps my hand away and leaves the room.
Tch. That kid. I warned him so many times already, but he wouldn't listen. Now that this has happened, that's the only option we have here. He needs to leave France. I'm concerned about Haruka now. He's clearly heartbroken right now, and I couldn't even do anything.
//SKIP//
It's been three days since the incident between Haruka and Louis occurred, and I was right about Haruka resigning from work. Last Monday, I found his resignation letter first thing in the morning. I tried to contact him every day, but he didn't answer my call even once. Hanabi also didn't even bother to reply to my texts. Louis will be working in the New York Branch starting today.
"You and your father always send me trash to teach." That's what Uncle Kenny said when I told him that Louis was going to be working under him in the New York Branch. Well, I can't blame him. It's true that we always send the incompetent one there first because Uncle Kenny is the only one who can handle them. Before returning to France, I also trained under him.
RING!
The phone rang, and I answered it.
"Director, Miss Lauren is here to see you." Sophia spoke over the phone. Lauren? What business did she have to come all the way here?
"Let her in." I said it shortly.
"Alright, sir." With that, I hang up.
A moment later, the door swung open, revealing Lauren and Hanabi behind her. Hanabi is here too. Did something happen? Lauren took the seat on the sofa, and the same goes for Hanabi.
"Did something happen? Why did you come all the way here?" I asked Lauren, and she glared at me.
"Hanabi has been skipping work for three days, and she hasn't stopped crying since she arrived at my office." Lauren said it with a concerned voice.
I look at Hanabi, who is now still crying with the face mask covering her face but not her eyes, so I can see the tears keep flowing from her eyes.
"Hanabi, what's wrong? Is it about Haruka?" I softly asked her.
"You lied. You lied to me. You said you'd make my brother happy. You said he wouldn't be mad at me, but he's not answering my calls or texts even once!" She half-yelled and kept crying.
"Hanabi, I'm sorry. Yes, I did promise you I'd make him happy. But even I don't have the power to prevent him from getting hurt by Louis. I believe you know that better than me." I tried my best to say it as softly as I could. I don't want to hurt her feelings or blame her.
"Then, what should I do now? Onii-chan didn't even respond to me, and I don't even know where he is now. He must be really angry with me. I lied to him after all." She keeps blaming herself, and the tears won't stop coming out of her eyes.
"Hanabi, it's not your fault. You did that for Haruka's sake. I know Haruka understands it very well, too. Maybe he just needs some time to clear his head. I promise you, I'll bring your brother back and make him happy for real this time." I said it confidently, and I know I can do that.
"You better make that happen this time." Hanabi looks at me with her puffy eyes, and I smile.
"I'm a man of my words, so you just need to trust me. Lauren, you should accompany Hanabi for the day. I believe you can do that, right?" I look at Lauren, and she just glares at me.
"You don't have to tell me. I planned to do that already. Let's go to Hanabi. Let's have something sweet, shall we?" She speaks to Hanabi softly, and Hanabi just nods. Tch. She has never talked to me this way since we were adults.
"Well, then, we'll take our leave now, Levi." With that, Lauren and Hanabi make their way towards the door and leave the room.
Ugh. What problem after another? I planned to ask Hanabi where Haruka is, but even Hanabi doesn't know that. What should I do now? I did ask Jason to look it up, but still, there's no good news yet. Everything about Haruka is incredibly difficult to find.
RING!
Again, my phone rang, and without wasting time, I just answered.
"Yes, what is it?" I ask.
"I'm sorry, Director, Mr. Auclair's mother is here to meet you."
