Chapter 3 - 3

In the following days, every time Sophia saw me, she either gave me the cold shoulder or made inexplicable sarcastic remarks. "She said she didn't come back to be a parasite, but she eats and drinks for free every day without thinking of finding a job."

"She really has the nerve to eat for free at home, thinking that she has made great contributions, but in fact, she has nothing.

Even a hen can lay an egg, but she doesn't even fart."

I heard such words every day in this luxurious villa.

If it were my usual temperament, I would have retorted long ago, but I remembered what Ethan said about resolving this matter properly, so I forcibly suppressed my anger.

I gently touched the small pendant of my daughter hanging on my neck, telling myself to stay calm.

I believed that Ethan would handle this matter well.

But I still underestimated Sophia's determination to make trouble.

That day, I gathered with classmates I hadn't seen for a long time and played until very late before returning home.

In order not to disturb the family, I tiptoed upstairs, preparing to return to my daughter's former room.

This room still kept many of my daughter's things, and I insisted on living here.

I had just pushed open the door when I heard rustling sounds coming from inside.

I was stunned for a moment, then turned on the light.

The scene before me shocked me.

I saw Sophia standing in my walk-in closet, holding one of my coats in her hand.

I was surprised, "Sophia, what are you doing in my room's closet."

Sophia glared at me, "Are you blind? Of course I'm looking for a place to put my wedding dress and dowry."

I was a bit puzzled, "Don't you have a closet in your own room? Why did you come to my room to put your things."

Sophia snorted coldly, "This is my home, I can put my things wherever I want, do I need you to teach me."

Just then, Megan also rushed over.

She gave Sophia a look, then smiled at me and tried to appease me, "Olivia, I forgot to tell you, Sophia wants to put her wedding dress and dowry in your room."

"Just this afternoon when you were out, she felt that the closet in her own room was too small to fit her things."

At this point, I realized that all the things in my closet were gone.

In their place was a snow-white wedding dress and many exquisite jewelry boxes.

My closet was indeed very large, the most spacious one in the entire villa.

But Sophia occupied my closet without my consent, which really made me a bit unhappy.

Seeing me frowning and not saying anything, Megan sighed, "Olivia, we were wrong not to ask for your consent in advance, but Sophia is getting married soon, we had no choice but to act first and report later, I hope you can understand."

I could understand that Sophia was getting married, but did she really not even have time to notify me? Moreover, she didn't move in earlier or later, but chose to move in without notice a few days after I had been staying here, wasn't she looking down on me as her sister-in-law too much? Just then, Ethan rushed over, looking at Sophia with anger, "So what if you're getting married? Does getting married mean you can occupy Olivia's closet? Change it back immediately."

Seeing Megan's embarrassed look, I quickly waved my hand, "It's okay, Ethan, I'll put my clothes somewhere else for now, anyway we have many closets in the house, or I can put them in Sophia's closet."

Ethan sighed, "Olivia, I'm sorry for putting you in this position."

I waved my hand, "We're all family, no need to be so polite."

At this time, Megan said with some difficulty, "The things in Sophia's closet are all prepared for the wedding, they can't be moved for now."

I couldn't help but twitch the corner of my mouth, "Then where can I put my clothes."

Megan pointed to the small storage room in the corner of the second floor, "I've put your things in that room."

This storage room was only slightly larger than the bathroom, without even a window, let alone lighting.

Perhaps sensing my dissatisfaction, Sophia started making sarcastic remarks again, "If you think this room is too small, why don't you put your clothes in the attic? There's a lot of space there, you'll definitely like it."

I was a bit speechless, "Sophia, if the attic is so good, why don't you put your wedding dress there."

Seeing this, Megan quickly came out to smooth things over, "Olivia, the attic is so far away, how can we let the bride's wedding dress be put there? It's so inconvenient."

I laughed, "Yeah, the attic is so far away, who would want to run up and down every day to get clothes."

Probably realizing that she had said the wrong thing, Megan shut her mouth and didn't say anything else.

As for Ethan, he also glared at her fiercely, then came over to comfort me, saying that it was only temporarily inconveniencing me to put my clothes in the storage room for a few days.

This time, I endured it again.

After all, I had more important things to do.

I quietly touched the miniature camera in my pocket, thinking that I would install them in suitable locations later.

But I never expected that what happened next would directly overturn my worldview.
