Chapter 19 - Chapter 12.1 : Konoha Hospital!!

Kagetsu quickly became famous in the entire Nara clan.

It wasn't because he became Orochimaru's disciple, or because he learned medical ninjutsu from Tsunade, the No. 1 medical ninja in the entire ninja world. It was because Kagetsu didn't act like a typical Nara clan member.

The children of the Nara clan are usually lazy and avoid trouble, never seeking things to do on their own.

But Kagetsu was different. He always seemed to be looking for something to do.

Kagetsu created the Shadow Coffin Technique and contributed it to the clan's secret techniques, earning the admiration of all the elders. Every once in a while, they would evaluate his progress.

Even though Orochimaru had handed Kagetsu over to Tsunade for medical ninjutsu training, that didn't mean he was completely free from Orochimaru. Kagetsu still had to spend time learning ninjutsu and training as a ninja under him.

At the same time, Tsunade's medical ninjutsu training required a lot of his time and energy.

With all these responsibilities combined, Kagetsu's schedule was packed every day, leaving him almost no time to rest. By the time he got home, it was always late at night, and he was so exhausted that he seemed even more tired than the laziest Nara clan members.

This intense training continued for a while, and it shocked the entire Nara clan. Even the Akimichi and Yamanaka clan knew about Kagetsu's special routine, gaining their surprises.

But Kagetsu didn't care about all that.

After a few days of studying under Tsunade, she and Shizune sent him to the Konoha Hospital. According to Tsunade, after learning the basics, hands-on experience is the best way to master a jutsu.

Especially medical ninjutsu!

Although Kagetsu and Shizune were still beginners, they had mastered the basics of the Healing Jutsu (Mystical Palm Technque) and could help treat some patients.

The Konoha Hospital, which had only been officially established for a little over a year, was seriously understaffed at the moment.

In fact, in any ninja village, medical ninjas are incredibly rare. Unless it's a special team, it's very difficult to have a medical ninja assigned to it.

Only Konoha had taken the step of training medical ninja on a large scale. The Konoha Hospital was built thanks to Tsunade, the Nara clan, Konoha's abundance of talent, and the fact that Konoha had won the war.

Because of the shortage of staff, Kagetsu felt like a workhorse again. Luckily, the department heads understood that he and Shizune were still children, so they didn't assign them too many patients. Otherwise, with their current chakra reserves, they'd probably collapse from exhaustion within two weeks.

But even so, Kagetsu and Shizune made great progress during their time at the Konoha Hospital.

Being a ninja is a very dangerous job, where injuries and even death are common during missions.

As the victors of the war, Konoha's mission requests had skyrocketed, and there were also injuries from both Konoha residents and ninja training.

At the hospital under the Konoha Hospital, Kagetsu and Shizune saw all kinds of injuries and learned many specialized treatments.

Their understanding of medical ninjutsu grew rapidly, and all the knowledge they had been cramming into their heads was quickly absorbed and turned into practical skills.

Although Tsunade seemed unreliable most of the time, when it came to being a teacher and training medical ninjas, she was experienced and trustworthy.

The tasks she assigned were tiring and tough, but they were the quickest way to learn and master the skills.

At the Senju Clan's estate...

Tsunade was sitting slumped in her green robe, her body relaxed. She had one hand propping up her cheek and the other holding a sake cup, staring at the liquid inside with a dazed expression. Her thoughts were interrupted by Kagetsu and Shizune, who had just returned.

"What's for dinner today?" Tsunade put down her cup, stretched her arms high, and yawned, rubbing her eyes with a hint of boredom.

"Grilled meat! The secret recipe from the Akimichi clan." Shizune cheerfully shook the wrapped food box in her hand and then opened it up in front of Tsunade.

"Can't you just hand over the meal expenses to me? I'm the head of the household and your teacher!" Tsunade slapped the table, clearly unhappy as she looked at Shizune and the man behind her, Nara Kagetsu.

"Tsunade-sama! I think Kagetsu is right! If you had the money, you'd just lose it gambling again!" Shizune puffed out her cheeks.

"Fine, but if you two don't meet the standards in today's assessment, don't blame me for being strict!" Tsunade said, looking at Shizune's clear and doubtful eyes for a long time before finally looking away with a guilty expression.

She realized that recently, her position at home, or rather in Shizune's mind, had fallen to its lowest point. Her authority was almost gone.

The culprit was clearly Nara Kagetsu, who was nothing like a typical Nara.

"Kagetsu and I have been working hard. We've already mastered the new jutsu you taught us and can use it properly now," Shizune said confidently.

The three of them finished their meal together.

Under Tsunade's watchful eye, Kagetsu and Shizune each demonstrated their medical jutsu: Mystical Palm Technique, Extraction Technique, and Chakra Scalpel.

These were the three most commonly used and practical medical jutsu in the department.

- Mystical Palm Technique: Heals wounds.

- Extraction Technique: Removes toxins and transplants organs from a living being.

- Chakra Scalpel: Forms a sharp surgical blade from concentrated chakra in the hand, allowing precise internal cuts without external damage. It can be used as a primary attack method for medical ninjas.

Unlike other jutsu that simply require release and hitting the target to be effective, these medical techniques, besides the Mystical Palm Technique, require a good understanding of medical knowledge and human anatomy to use well.

In simpler terms, mastering them requires some skill.

"You two have learned very well. At least in the field of medical jutsu, you both have a unique advantage and talent," Tsunade admitted, acknowledging their skill despite her dissatisfaction.

Though they weren't at the level of professional medical ninjas, being able to use these jutsu proficiently in just a month deserved praise.
