Chapter 40 - Two Choices In A Row!

A few days later...

The warship docked at the City of Water Seven for routine resupply.

A Supreme Edition warship! Now that was something Finn needed.

Sooner or later, after arriving at Marine Headquarters, Finn would be promoted, and that meant building his own Marine fleet. Ordinary warships wouldn't cut it for him, but a Supreme Edition Marine warship from the system's rewards? Now that was a prize worth aiming for.

And then there was the food: 10,000 servings of Michelin desserts and 10,000 servings of the Manhan Banquet. The consumables seemed excessive, but considering the size of his crew and their daily consumption, they'd vanish quickly. The warship could wait, but food rewards? Never to be missed.

According to the intel Finn had gathered, the "Pluton" blueprints were in the hands of Franky, a shipwright in Water Seven. But approaching Franky directly wouldn't work—he was too sentimental and wouldn't hand over the blueprints easily. His mentor, Iceburg, the head of the city, was another story. Iceburg was more reasonable, and if he agreed, Franky would likely follow suit.

With a plan in mind, Finn took Tashigi and headed to Iceburg's mansion, leaving Robin, Nami, and Princess Vivi on the warship.

Tashigi's Marine status made it easy to gain entry to the mayor's mansion, where they'd be less likely to face obstacles. Without her, the governor's mansion would've been off-limits to outsiders.

As they approached, the guards noticed Tashigi's Marine justice cloak and immediately became alert.

"Who are you here to see?" one of the guards asked.

"Inform Chief Iceburg that the Marines have urgent business with him," Tashigi replied, her voice calm and authoritative.

Her posture and demeanor screamed Marine, and anyone could see she was the real deal. But as for Finn…

The guard eyed him suspiciously. "And... is he a Marine too?"

Tashigi shot the guard a sharp look. "That's not for you to ask. Just go tell your chief that we have official business. Don't waste our time!"

Inwardly, Finn gave Tashigi a mental thumbs-up. 100 points for attitude!

Seeing Tashigi's firm stance, the guards refrained from asking any more questions. "Please wait here," one of them said, heading inside to deliver the message.

After a few minutes, they were led into Iceburg's office.

"What business do the Marines have here?" Iceburg asked, setting down his pen as he looked up at the two newcomers.

Tashigi stepped back, signaling that Finn was the one to speak. Iceburg turned his gaze to Finn, curiosity in his eyes. "Are you a Marine as well?" he asked.

Really? Why does everyone keep asking me that? Finn thought, annoyed.

"Garp is my grandfather," Finn said confidently. "He asked me to deliver something to you."

"Garp's grandson?" Iceburg raised an eyebrow, rubbing his chin as if considering the truth of Finn's claim.

Just then, the door opened again, and a young woman in a secretary's uniform entered. She had long blonde hair, light purple glasses, a yellow corset shirt, a black skirt, and knee-high boots.

"Kalifa, what is it?" Iceburg asked casually.

"Mr. Iceburg, we've just received word that a Marine warship has docked at Port No. 1—it belongs to Vice Admiral Garp," Kalifa reported, placing a folder on Iceburg's desk. "Also, here's last month's report from the Carrera Company for your review."

Hearing Garp's name, Iceburg's expression shifted. It now seemed more plausible that Finn really was Garp's grandson, especially with a Marine officer like Tashigi accompanying him.
