Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: First Encounter with Ananya

Ananya was known for her rigorous discipline and sharp instincts. Getting close to her wasn't going to be as simple as setting up a business meeting. She wasn't one for formal dinners or parties. Instead, Raghav had to infiltrate her world—the world of high-stakes security contracts and covert operations.

Through his newly acquired Financial Mastery ability, Raghav discovered that Black Cobra Security had been contracted for a high-profile political event. This was his opportunity. He secured a place at the event, not as a guest but as part of the security detail—an unusual move for someone of his status, but a necessary one.

The event itself was a tight-knit gathering of politicians and businessmen, all of whom depended on Ananya's firm for protection. Raghav watched her from a distance as she commanded her team with precision, her presence a mixture of power and cold efficiency. Dressed in a tactical uniform, she moved like a predator, every step deliberate, her dark eyes scanning the crowd with a sharp, calculating gaze.

Raghav approached her during a break, careful not to seem too eager. "You run a tight ship, Ms. Singh."

Ananya's eyes flicked toward him, her expression unreadable. "You're not part of my usual team. Who are you?"

"Raghav Rao," he said, offering a disarming smile. "I'm here on special request from one of the politicians. I thought I'd see firsthand what your operation looks like."

She didn't return the smile. "I don't like unnecessary distractions during an operation, Mr. Rao."

Raghav nodded, keeping his tone respectful. "I'm impressed. I've never seen anyone run a security detail with such precision."

Ananya narrowed her eyes but didn't dismiss him. "Flattery won't get you far with me."

Raghav's smile widened slightly. "Good. I'm not looking for shortcuts."

Her gaze lingered on him for a moment longer before she turned back to her team, but Raghav could sense the crack in her armor. The system hummed in his mind.

"Conquest progress: 10%."

It was a small start, but it was progress nonetheless.
