Right when he ventures outside of the safety of his charity mansion, he is embraces by the crisps and refreshing morning fog. The symphonies made by the forest creatures muffled from the density of the watery mist.
He can still make out the silhouette of the plants in front of him, but only barely. This will not deter him nor hinder him. He has a mission in mind and nothing will stop him.
Few steps forward and he spots something that tickles his curiousity; little droplets of water hanging precariously on the edges of leaves. When he peers around his, those leaves that he can see all have them.
He wriggles in excitment. This means that the water quest is almost complete. So easily accomplished with a few steps only. He sets off to find leaves that will hold these precious droplets. Maybe he can make a leaf-barrel to store the droplets?
He does just that.
Finding a normal leaf on the ground and cutting it into a rectangular shape, he wonders if he should folds it with a yoshimura pattern or just plain old normal tuck and hold.
Yeah, he'll uses the latter, faster and less risk of ripping the leaf.
'The water tension will keep the liquid from escaping anyways.' He speculates as he carefully folds the crevices of both the opening ends of the cylinder. As he assembles his makeshift barrel, he muses on how to keep all these structures long term. The mansion and the utilities that he has in mind. Should he starts finding dried leaves instead? But the lack of moisture makes it almost impossible to fold. Maybe he can play with stacking instead?
"The possibilities are endless. Things that could not be done from past life, can be easily achieved with the difference in sizes. So much to explore!" He exclaims gleefully.
All this right now will only be temporary. He should dedicate some time soon to find another spot. Higher and away from ground level dangers. Maybe this time he really will make himself a giant castle.
When he finishes weaving seven him-sized barrels with lids, he randomly picks a ground floor room and cuts out a door to it, turning it into a water storage room. The hardest part in maintaining this room will be the molding problem. He will have to keep an eye on the room humidity level. Maybe moving this room to one with a better air flow, or not. It is all temporary for now.
With careful hands, he gently retrieves the water droplet. He holds the singular droplet in his 3 pairs of hands or thoracic legs before finding out that the water tension at this size will maintain its shape. So no matter how he squishes it, as long as he is not wet, it will not disperse.
'So fascinating! So much fun!' He thoughts as he plays with the droplet with childish joy. Pulling and squishing it with his many legs. He adds more hanging water into the droplets, holding it twice the size of himself before plopping it into the barrel. It is immediately one third filled.
20 minutes later he has all seven barrels full of clean, refreshing morning dew, the best source or water yet.
Mission accomplished!
Within the first morning hour too. He huffs proudly, admiring his handiwork. Nodding triumphly to himself, he secures the outerdoor and makes his way past the inner door straight to his personal room to retrieves the pin and the nightlight orb. If he's in a novel right now, something will most definately come up later that will force him to use the glowy flower bud... Maybe a wraith or two.
As he picks up the two items, he suddenly realises something. It did not register in his brain at that time but now that he thinks about it, all his tenants... do they all have a system?
