"-small kindness from a stranger."
There was a momentary silence before Tedior notices that he had his eyes closed and that he is currently laying in something very comfortable and incredibly soft.
He hastily opens his eyes and sit right up. Or he tries to.
His attempt to sitting up is met with him flailing about on his uncontrollable limbs. And his attempt to see is obstructed by that same soft material that seems to be covering his whole body.
What?
His breathing became erratic. Fear sinking into him at his lost of control again. He frantically wriggles about before having a minor heart-stoping moment from slipping and falling from the soft material to a one-second free fall towards the cold hard ground.
The unexpected transition jolts him to opening his eyes again (ah, when did he close them?). His eyes are met with the vibrant forest green. He instantly puts a pause in his wild panicking session in favor of observing and studying his new surroundings.
Lines of sunray travel through the dense forestry luminating the area and letting him observes where he is.
He sees strings upon strings of enormous grass. Every single one of them with widths as wide as him and lengths towering him several times over. Through the dense foliage of leaves, he manages to spy some vibrantly colored flowers bigger than he has ever seen before.
When he looks up, wwaaay high above him, he sees leaves, tree leaves to be exact. What tiny glimpse of those trees he manages sees shows a massive trunk, so huge and wide that a whole figurative town can fit into the radius of it.
As he takes a conscious long breath, the crisp-ier air is so very different from his forest and so very foreign. The earthly undertone, the damp grassy smell with that additional hint of sweetness that he has never smell before. It smells and feels more soothing and calming in comparison to his forest.
He instinctively knows he is no longer back on his earth.
'Is it the same fantasy world as before?' He thoughts curiously. 'But why does everything seems so much bigger than normal?'
He shakes his head, ridding himself of the trepidation settling in and that almost-realisation, conclusion that he has made in his mind.
"Not important yet," he whispers to himself as he has a more pressing matter right now. Hs limbs. Why does his limbs feels so weird?
He looks down and see... huh?
An elongated very colorful cylindrical body with almost a dozen of tiny cute little snubs-legs.
Feeling a little bit numb, he manoeuvres himself to sit on his butt, precariously balanced, so he will have an easier excess and view to his new limbs.
Tedior offhandedly tries to move a hand and sees a whole section of tiny snubs moving. He does the same to his other limbs and watches in odd fascination in the rhythmatic movements of his tiny legs.
After long moment of playing with his mesmerizing limbs, he excitedly turns to look at his back, eager to see more. He sees a tiny cute butt.
"... but where is my..." he trails off, looking around his back end area but finding nothing. "... it'll come up sooner or later."
After a few more moments, he tries to move forward but ended up having a spasm instead. He doubles his attempts but lays defeated on the ground brieftly after.
The bitter defeat is when it finally sinks in...
'Heck yeah! I'm is fucking a caterpillar!'
"Transition from a person to a caterpillar! That is pretty cool and insane!" He exclaims excitedly. "The pain is gone. I don't feel any hunger nor thirst!"
He wriggles(spasms) in unbearable anticipation.
"A completely new world. The adventures! The explorations from the view of a caterpillar! Ah! I cant wait!" He squeals in excitment.
So he erratically rolls about in elation from this astonishing discovery. Eager to explore, to see what this world will bring.
Now if only his limbs would work properly.
Inch by inch, he treads forward, sideward, backwards, downwards, inwards... but mainly forward. Yeah, mainly forwards.
30 minutes pass and he moves a whooping 10 inch diagonally from his starting point. But this will not deterr him.
"Brand new adventure! Brand new me! I can do this!" He encourages himself enthusiastically.
40 minutes later sees him moving 2 inch backwards.
"... I've... *huff*... I've got this..."
30 minutes iddles away and he once again regained that initial 8 inch diagonal spot.
"I... I can... do t-..."
15 minutes later, he silently lays in defeat on the ground, mumbling incoherently to himself.
5 minutes pass and he suddenly perks up with renewed excitement!
"I am moving about in the wrong way!" He says apprehensively.
With a whole determination anew, he places himself on the ground and tucks all his dozens of tiny legs in, hugging himself of sorts and after making sure he stays very straight, he begins to roll. Utilizing both his muscles and legs, moving in synchronisation with the momentum the roll brings.
It was slow and staccato-iey at first, stopping at random intervals and hitting those tiny bits of bips and bumps but he soon gets the hang of it.
Soon after he is rolling at a mach 3 speed zipping around everywhere and anywhere he likes to go! Or so he would like to think as he is currently travelling 4cm per second. But on the bright side, he is still travelling faster than the standard caterpillar travel of 1cm per second.
With this exceedingly advanced idiotic travelling method that he stupidly innovatively created, he is now able to familiarises to his new surroundings. Or to be more specific, to his spiralling surroundings when he rolls about.
Thank goodness for caterpillar's simple and single digestive tracts...
First things first, straight to the beginning. Thankfully it is not too far away.
Apparently the softness he feels from the material is his cocoon. He would love to retrieves it as it seems to be a great bedding material but his body denies him of this simple transaction. It is placed high above him on the underside of a leave.
That aside, isn't cocoons for when a caterpillar metamorphosis into a metapod and finally into a butterfree?
Oh wait. Not a fandom genre. But you get the point. Maybe he metamorphosis from a man to a caterpillar? Does that mean he evolved and he is now the missing link to the evolutionary line?
Furthermore, he is very sure he picked the neither options just now. Then what is this continuous storyline? Maybe he has some sort of plot armor after all.
Now isnt that a humbling thought.
