Chapter 2 - chapter 2

Chapter 2

~ After a week ~

"Lady Olivia, give me the details of the person who had framed you"

Her personal bodyguard kept on pestering in knowing who dared to frame and cause a multi-billionaire daughter so much pain. He looked at her again, she was only skin and bone. The more he accessed her body, the angrier he became.

"This is my battle Victor, I do not want you or anyone getting involved. Let me deal with my issue alone."

"But Lady Olivia...."

Olivia scowled at him, Victor gave up the topic and focused on driving her to the hospital for a prepared check up.

Olivia sat in the back seat of the car planning her revenge towards Philip and Betty. She had been a fool for four years hiding her real identity as the daughter of a prominent man in the world.

Now that she was back everyone who had ever wronged her would pay severely.

Olivia vowed to herself. She would strip Philip of everything he owned. All his business partners were gotten through her connection which he did not know. Now they were enemies and she would turn all of them against him.

Victor watched Olivia through the rear mirror. He could tell she was plotting something evil. Whatever she was planning, he was going to protect his boss's daughter until death. No one touches the hair of the Bruce family without paying for it.

'Lady Olivia, if I find whoever hurt you, first, I will make sure he or she suffers worse than what you felt In there.'

Victor said this in his heart.

At Philip's mansion, Betty was still mad at him for trying to hide their relationship from Olivia.

Philip felt agitated by her behavior. He went over to the second parlor to take a break from her nagging. He drowned himself in alcohol drinking directly from the bottle. He felt so much guilt, his ego has fallen and now he was beginning to rethink his decision of divorcing Olivia.

He scrolled through his phone looking at the pictures of Olivia, her smile was contagious, she was always full of life and ready to make sacrifices for him. The Olivia he had seen at the prison had lost her beauty, even a paper weighed the same as her. Philip was beginning to fear she might not make it through the night.

Philip heard his phone ring shortly, he'd been expecting a phone call from the prison guard.

"How is she?"

His voice was low; he wouldn't want Betty to find out he was checking up on Olivia.

"You idiot."

The voice on the other end blurted out angrily.

Philip had to check the number in case he had called the wrong number. It turned out to be the right number.

"Do you know who you are speaking with?"

"I do not care."

He sounded really angry.

"Paupers like you can be taken care of. How much do you want?" Philip stated, although he didn't understand why the man spoke to him that way.

"This isn't about money,"

He reduced his voice, talking almost in a whisper.

"It is about your wife, you idiot."

Philip felt cold chills run down his spine. Has she died? Did Olivia escape prison? A lot of questions went through his head.

"What happened to my wife?"

"Is she in a critical condition?"

"No."

Hearing she was alright he felt a Cold Water quench his fear. If anything had happened to her, Philip doesn't know what he would have done to his selfish self.

"Go straight to the point. What happened to my wife."

He spoke in between gritted teeth.

"Do you have the slightest of your wife's family background?"

Philip was beginning to lose his patience. He felt insulted by all this question. No, he doesn't have much idea about his wife's family.

"It seems you do not have anything important to say."

He was about to hang up.

"Watch your back Mr. Philip, no one messes with the Bruce family. And one more thing, both of us have never met."

He then hangs up the call leaving Philip in a daze of confusion. Everyone knew about the prominent Bruce family. Men like Philip were not worth standing before such a family.

His face etched with confusion. He began to recap on the story Olivia had narrated. She was a poor countryside girl with six siblings and they could not afford three square meals in a day.

Philip gulped down another mouthful of drink.

'I seem to be hearing things. I'm so drunk" he said.

He slapped his forehead. Only if the only man he knew in the prison hadn't acted like an asshole, he would have been able to sneak in to visit Olivia.

Another idea came into his mind. He picked up his car keys and drove to the hospital late that night to visit Olivia's sick nanny. The woman who was like a mother to her and her younger sister as she's claimed.

At ward 20, he paused by the door. A young girl in her teens was feeding the old lady.

"Blossom, this is the man that paid my bills, go on your knees and thank him."

The respectful child did as her mother said. She knelt before Philip and almost kissed his legs but he withdrew.

"Thank you sir for paying my mother's hospital bill."

"Stand on your feet."

He commanded, his breath smelt of alcohol.

"Where is your sister? Where is Olivia?"

Blossom was confused.

"Sir, I do not have another sibling."

"Do not lie to me!!" He grabbed her tightly and shook the frightened girl vigorously. She began to cry begging she doesn't know who bore the name Olivia. She only knew a woman who had helped her and her mother several times and her name was unknown to them. "A woman helps my mother and I. She's the owner of this hospital"

Philip threw her to the floor. She found a nurse and began questioning her.

"Who are the owners of this hospital?"

The nurse was reluctant but he used force. Everyone knew the owners of the hospital except for the grumpy man in front of her.

"It belongs to the Bruce family. This is one of his daughter's free hospitals."

He was going to ask another question, and the nurse left in a hurry to attend to a patient.

Philip did his research on the internet the moment he arrived at the mansion. He was searching for the daughter of Mr. Bruce. He had his suspicions raised the moment the little girl said something about some woman assisting them. It was strange that Olivia also disappeared from the prison.

After searching for a while, he happened to stumble on a picture of both father and daughter. All these years Philip never imagined Olivia was the actual daughter of the influential billionaire Mr. Bruce.

"You don't know who you are messing with."

Her last words echoed in his ears.
