"Huh..."
When I came to, I was lying in my bed in my room.
Looking over at the window, I could see sunlight seeping in through the curtains. It seemed I'd woken up at some awkward time for the demonfolk.
"...This happened before, didn't it?"
Wasn't it after that first day I was forced to fight human soldiers? I was so exhausted that I passed out early, only to wake up around this same time.
On the shelf in the corner of the room, there were still five skulls resting in place. They were something I had requested—to ensure that their souls wouldn't be enslaved as undead, forced into servitude for the dark beings.
...Even now, they watch over me from the afterlife. Gripping the spear-shaped remains that stood by my bedside, I once again offered my prayers.
I'm always indebted to you... and thank you...!
"Snore... snore..."
