After successfully driving the wolf pack out of the cave, Lucas and Finn walked back to Veiron village. The sun was beginning to set on the western horizon, coloring the sky with shades of orange and red. Finn whistled softly as he swung along with a light step, while Lucas still felt tired after the rather tiring battle."You know," Finn said cheerfully, "I didn't expect you to be able to conjure fire from your sword like that. You've got some really cool tricks, buddy."Lucas just smiled slightly, reminding himself to be careful with his words. "Just an old trick I learned. Nothing much to brag about," he replied in a flat tone, trying to hide his anxiety about his system window and gacha.Upon arriving at the village, they immediately went to the village chief's office to report their success. The simple village chief's office building looked busier than usual. Several villagers seemed to be gathered outside, talking in panicked tones. Lucas could feel that something was happening. As soon as they entered, Village Chief Elwood, who looked older than before, greeted them with a nod."Finn, Lucas, good to have you back. Are you done with those wolves?" he asked with a relieved tone.Lucas nodded. "Yes, they won't be bothering this village anymore. At least, not for a while," he replied.Elwood smiled contentedly and handed over a small pouch containing silver coins. "As promised, here's your reward. 30 silver coins for a very good job." He then nodded to Finn. "And you too, Finn. Thank you for being a good guide."Finn shrugged and chuckled. "Hey, I was just following the hero here. He did most of the work."Lucas accepted the coin pouch with a grateful nod. "Thank you, Mr. Elwood. This will be very helpful."[Quest Completed: Cleanse the Wolf's Den!]Reward: 200 Gacha Points + 30 Silver Coins received!Lucas's eyes lit up when he saw the system window notification that appeared in front of him."Finally," he thought. "Time to try this gacha again."Elwood seemed to realize something and looked at Lucas seriously. "Oh, and before you go... There's something else I want to talk about. We have a new problem."Lucas and Finn exchanged glances. "A new problem?" Lucas asked.Elwood sighed deeply."Some villagers who went to the neighboring city haven't returned. They were supposed to be back yesterday. I'm afraid something might have happened on the way to the city."Lucas thought for a moment. This could be his next quest and a good opportunity to get more gacha points."Would you like me to look for them?" he offered.Elwood nodded. "I would appreciate your help very much, Lucas. You can deliver this report to the neighboring city and find out what happened. We will give you a proper reward."Lucas agreed and accepted the quest. Meanwhile, Finn grinned. "Looks like we have another adventure, buddy. Are you ready?"Lucas smiled faintly. "You know I'm always ready," he replied. However, in his mind, he was more interested in trying the gacha again before starting a new journey. After confirming the next quest, Lucas found a quiet spot in the village to use his gacha points. He found a wooden bench near a large, quiet tree. Sitting down, he opened the System Window and went to the Gacha menu.| Gacha || Gacha Points: 200 || 1. Gacha Skill (50 Points) || 2. Gacha Item (50 Points) || 3. Gacha Stats (50 Points) |Lucas stroked his chin, thinking about the right choice."Okay, I already have a good skill. Maybe it's time to try something different," he thought. He decided to choose Gacha Item. Maybe he could get a useful weapon, armor, or healing item. With bated breath, he focused his mind on the Gacha Item option. The screen changed into a large gacha wheel that spun rapidly in front of his eyes, with colorful lights flashing. The sound of the spinning wheel reminded him of a slot machine in a casino, and his heart began to race. He knew there were different tiers, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS+. Would he be lucky this time? The wheel slowed down... and stopped at Tier S.Lucas's eyes widened."Tier S? Seriously? This is crazy luck!" he thought with excitement.Congratulations! You have obtained a New Item: "Cloak of Shadows (Tier S)"Description: Legendary cloak that allows the user to become invisible for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 5 minutes.Lucas could hardly believe his luck."A cloak that can make me invisible? This is amazing!" he thought. He quickly stored the cloak in his inventory and decided to try it out later when he really needed it.However, before he could react further, a girl's voice came from behind. "Hey, you! New adventurer!"Lucas turned around and saw a young girl with long blonde hair standing near him. Her emerald green eyes shone sharply, and she was wearing an overly ornate wizard's robe with gold embroidery. She looked no more than 20 years old, but her eyes were full of confidence and perhaps a little arrogance."My name is Evelyn Starwood," the girl said without hesitation. "I heard you just defeated the wolf pack in the cave. That's pretty impressive... for a newbie."Lucas smiled slightly, ignoring the condescending tone in her voice."Thank you, I guess. Can I help you with something?"Evelyn raised an eyebrow and smiled thinly."Maybe. I need someone to accompany me to the neighboring city. You seem reliable enough, so how about we go together?"Lucas knew he was already planning to go to that city, so the offer made sense."Sure. I'm going there too to look for the missing villagers. We can work together."Evelyn seemed pleased with his answer, although she tried to hide it with her arrogant attitude."Good. But don't get in my way.""Alright, alright," Lucas replied with a chuckle. "Let's see who gets in whose way."
