Chapter 2 - A Glitch in the System

Ryo, or now Lucas Nightshade, was stunned, staring blankly ahead.

"Lucas Nightshade? Who's that? Me?" he muttered, trying to understand his situation.

Then, something even stranger happened. In front of his eyes, a transparent window appeared, as if a computer screen in mid-air.

"Ding".

Lucas stared at the window with his mouth half open.

"What is this? It's like a status window in an RPG..." he thought, confused.

He tried to touch the window, but his hand passed through like a shadow. His confusion grew.

"Is this some kind of hallucination? Or... am I really in another world?"

He recalled the isekai manga and novels he had read, they always depicted characters reincarnated in other worlds with status systems like this. However, this was reality or at least it felt like reality. He could feel the wind on his face, the ground beneath his feet, and the smell of fresh grass. It was too real to be a dream.

"Okay, calm down, Lucas. Or Ryo. Or whoever I am now," he said to himself, trying to calm down.

"First of all, I need to understand this situation. If I'm really reincarnated in this new world, then I need to know how it works."

Lucas focused his mind on the window in front of him, and suddenly an option appeared at the bottom of the screen.

"Ding".

[Show Main Menu]

System Window

1. Character Information

2. Inventory

3. Quest

4. Gacha

Lucas's eyes widened at the fourth option.

"Gacha?" he said, half-laughing."Seriously? I'm trapped in a new world and they give me gacha? This is like a really bad joke."

Even so, his curiosity made him choose the Gacha menu. A new screen appeared, showing three options.

Gacha

Gacha Points: 0

1. Skill Gacha (50 Points)

2. Item Gacha (50 Points)

3. Stats Gacha (50 Points)

(Collect gacha points by completing quests or tasks)

Lucas laughed bitterly.

"Of course I don't have any gacha points," he said, more to himself.

"So, I have to complete quests to get points. This is literally like a game I made myself, but with real life and death risks."

He found it ironic that after years of creating complex gacha systems and spending time in front of a computer, he was now living in his own world. From where he stood, he could see a small path leading into the forest in the distance.

"Maybe that's the way," he thought.

Lucas started walking along the path, continuing to ponder his situation. He knew he had to be cautious, especially since he didn't know what awaited him in this world.

"If this is like an RPG game," he thought."

then there will be monsters out there, maybe even some strange NPCs.

"As he walked further, a rustling sound came from the bushes at the edge of the path. Lucas stopped and listened, his heart pounding.

"What was that... a wild animal?" he thought, his eyes scanning the movement among the leaves.Suddenly, a small rabbit jumped out of the bushes, kicking its furry hind legs. Lucas breathed a sigh of relief, but also felt foolish for being scared of a rabbit.

"Great, Lucas," he said sarcastically."

Scared of a rabbit. Looks like I need to play more survival games." He continued his journey, but remained vigilant.

The journey was long and tiring, but the fresh air and beautiful scenery made him feel better. After about half an hour of walking, he began to see signs of life. A small plume of smoke rose above the trees, and as he drew closer, he could hear the faint sounds of laughter and conversation.

"A village?" he murmured hopefully. "Finally."

Lucas quickened his pace and soon found himself in front of a simple, wide-open wooden gate. Inside, he could see several simple stone houses and wooden huts with thatched roofs. Some villagers were walking around carrying baskets or talking to each other cheerfully.

"Alright, this looks like a start," he said with a small smile.

"Let's see how this goes."

Lucas entered the village, ready for his first adventure in the world of Elyndor, a world full of mystery, strangeness, and unlimited possibilities... including the possibility of stumbling upon a monster or getting a strange skill from his gacha.

But he knew one thing, this was far more exciting than sitting in a boring office until midnight.
