A group of people stood in a pure white room. They were the top scorers of the Pokémon exams.
"There are some things that were not discussed in the Pokémon Academy to keep things not too hard for your learning minds: For example, Every Pokémon generally have has a white bubble arising from their nose while asleep. It signifies a deep sleep status as a way to recover properly or to relax mentally. Though, most of us think the bubble might be snot, but actually, it is neither snot nor saliva… It is one of the many mysteries of Pokémon!-The underlying mechanism elaborated in the book of one of my fellow professors "States, Cures and Recovery Of Pokémon" by Professor Kukui."
The professor elaborated this trait that was only used in the anime to represent comical moments when the exact opposite of what was expected happened.
Barry already knew that this happened, but he wasn't sure.
"That is a quote from the book of Professor Kukui. He is one of the leading professors of the tropical Alola Region, which is a region which comprises of both dark-skinned and white and our color. Most of the black people who are in regions like Kanto, Johto, Hoeen and Sinnoh region and of course Little Barry here.
Though, Barry's skin is not black but brown in complexion he is still considered black."
'Now I feel like the professor is racist.'
"Also, a deep understanding is based on Pokémon knowledge. The understanding of Pokémon is the reason why humans have evidently grown stronger during the last 40 centuries. In fact, who can tell me what the item in my hand is…" The professor reached his hand into his Pocket and brought out a peculiar object.
It was a paw made from wood. Though it was hard to distinguish between which Pokémon's paw it would be since more than 50 Pokémon had paws, Barry identified it instantly.
"This is a Luxray's paw, sir!" Barry said with knowledge.
"You are correct." The professor said surprised.
A bit of surprise was evident on his face. This was a recently discovered Luxray paw that was gotten from the early age of the Pokémolis era! How could a child who just graduated from the Pokémon Academy know what type of paw it was.
"May I ask how you know what type of Pokémon paw it was?" The professor enquired from one of his students.
"Well, in all actuality I just really liked Shinx so I studied it's Pokémon type and it's evolved form intently." The teen told the professor.
The professor was quick to respond. "I admire your desire for knowledge, but, in the case that your goal is for anything other than the top 50 in the indigo league I advise that you don't focus on just one Pokémon species."
Barry just nodded so the professor could continue his speech. The purpose of this speech was to give them enough knowledge so that they would be able to handle their hand-made Pokédex. Barry's admiration for the professor grew from the fact that the professor had specifically made the rookie groups Pokédexes from hand instead of entrusting it to one of his aides.
"This Luxray paw is a wood-crafted item from the Pokémolis era. In the historic site it was found there was rubble everywhere, it seemed as if there was an earthquake but there wasn't no sign of opened ground.
Though, there is a chance that the earthquake was caused by a king-ranked Tyranittar it is highly unlikely…" The professor paused before bringing out another item. This one resembled a Raticate's paw, the paw was easy to identify as Raticate was a Pokémon with distinct paws unlike it predecessor.
"This is a Raticate's paw." Ash said.
This was an unusual show of intellect. Something that Barry was sure that Ash wasn't able to pull off by himself without some assistance.
'I guess there is a reason why he's one of the top scorers.' Barry thought as the paw was shown.
The two paws shown were bigger than usual. Both were too big to fit into the professor's pocket so it made him wonder how he was able to pull it out.
"This Raticate paw has a date on it." The professor turned it towards the rookies so that they could see it. "It is in the 15th century that this paw was created, while the other paw."
The professor turned the Luxray pay and on it the date of the 12th century was embedded onto it.
"The distance between the date of creation of the two paws says something. The latest date that was found in that village was not only in the King's Castle but it was also during the exact 15th century.
This also relates to my research on Alpha Pokémon. This one hasn't been published so it should be known to be forbidden to spurt out this theory when it has not been publicated."
The professor dropped the paws onto the table close to him.
"There was also a somewhat similar situation in the 12th century where we found a Arcanine paw and a Pidgeot claw. The Pidgeot claw was dated to the 11th century while the Arcanine paw is dated to the 12th century, the civilization thrived towards the end of the Pokémolis era."
"Though we must keep to account that Pokémon looked different from their modern day counterparts. The Arcanine's of the Pokémolis era, those of the Pokémolis era are found to have a distinct kind of red that differs from orange fur that engraves into present day Arcanine."
The professor sat down on the orange chair that was right next to the table.
"What you learned at the Pokémon Academy is just basic knowledge compared to what you are about to learn in your two months preparation for this mysterious world which we live in.
The Pokémon Academy is a school for the elite, but in my eyes they are just beginning to grasp the mere strings of this place we call earth." The old man gestured for us to sit down on chairs arranged.
"Take this for another example: In the beginning of the world Pokémon seemingly didn't exist. The world had just been able to inhabit humans… Or, let's go to an even earlier date, who can tell me how the world is able to inhabit us who inhale oxygen."
Barry raised his hand as nobody was willing or able to answer the question that the professor had presented.
"Well the gas from volcanoes covered the atmosphere which somehow converted to oxygen. There is another process where the gas emitted from the sea is…" Barry shut up.
Partly because he spoke nonsense and partly because…
"That is correct to some extent." The professor said.
"Since you already know of the way my second question is answered let me explain the answer to the first."
"Creatures called Animals seemingly inhabited the world with humans. Pokémon didn't exist during that period known as the Als-man period." The professor poured out the information like a leaking faucet.
Thing Barry could not start to comprehend was gushing out of this man's throat. The others looked more puzzled than he did, he had to attribute this fact to the fact that he had read some Pokémon fanfics vaguely similar to what Professor Oak was saying.
"…One must keep in mind that some of these sites are free to enter once they are found, but beware because other are guarded by king-ranked Pokémon. Some sites underground would be guarded by Dugtrio, while those near volcanoes are sometimes guarded by Typholosion, Darmanittan and other very heat-resistant Pokémon.
You all should hope that you don't fail the top 16 because those who get below that will work as an archaeologist representing this lab." The professor got up from the chair.
With that the great Pokémon Professor walked out of a group of perplexed teens.
