Chapter 5 - new city

Jenny twisted her mouth as she watched Ashley sit next to a tree. She closed her eyes and began to refresh her energy. Not long after, she stood up, and she and Jenny continued walking until they finally emerged from the dense forest.

"Yah! We're finally out!" Jenny exclaimed as she rushed forward. She then paused in her tracks, noticing the unfamiliar landscape around them. "Where are we? Are we lost?" she asked, turning to face Jenny, who wore an unreadable expression. "It seems like we are lost," Jenny replied, tears filling her eyes as memories of her brother flooded back.

Ashley remained expressionless as she smirked and patted Jenny's shoulder. She then spotted a guy trying to catch the attention of passersby, looking tired and sweaty. From a distance, Ashley activated her power to see through him, smiled, and kept walking.

"Miss Ashley, where are you going? How... how can I see my brother now? He must be worried! I promised to meet him yesterday, but now I'm stuck here! What do I do?" Jenny cried out.

"He's a guy; won't he know how to fend for himself? Or have you spoiled him to the point that he can't manage on his own?" Ashley replied, her expression still flat.

"I... um... I was just missing him..." Jenny began to say, but Ashley interrupted.

"Keep that to yourself. Don't you need money to take care of him? If so, you have to accept your current circumstances. If you can't hold yourself together, just tell me tonight that you'll meet him. But for now, cheer up; let's focus on the real business," Ashley said, pointing at the guy in front of her.

Jenny wiped her tears and asked, "What should we do?"

Ashley smiled and winked at her.

"Hey there, why don't you let me give you a helping hand?" Jenny said, twisting her long hair.

"Hello, miss! My name is Liam. I think you might be interested in our company. Why don't you join our Lotus Flower Model Company? Although it might be a low-class company, you'll surely be paid well for your work," he said eagerly.

"Oh, a model company?" Jenny smirked. "Well, I'll decide if we will join, but first, bring all these cards, and we will help you distribute them."

"We… What do you mean?" Liam asked, confused.

"Oh," Jenny smiled, pointing at Ashley, who was surrounded by many people, "look at her! Stop gawking and quickly bring the cards! Or do you want to lose a billion dollars?" she asked, her tone sharp.

Liam quickly handed over the cards, his face pale with anxiety.

"Alright, find somewhere to sit and rest; you might faint out here in this heat," Jenny said as she dashed off.

"Miss Ashley, I'm here!" Jenny exclaimed, handing over the cards.

"Miss… miss… let me pay quickly; I want to join the company!" some girls shouted eagerly, clamoring for the cards. The atmosphere buzzed as Jenny began to sweat profusely from the excitement.

"Oh my gosh! Miss Ashley, there's so much money, and the cards are running out!" Jenny whispered to Ashley, her voice filled with urgency.

Ashley glanced at the single card in Jenny's hand, and in the blink of an eye, another copy appeared.

Before long, every card was gone. Jenny glanced over at Liam, who was sleeping under a nearby tree. "What's wrong with him?" she wondered aloud as she noticed him shivering.

"I think he's sick. Let's go check on him," Ashley said as she lifted her lemon juice and stood up.

As they approached, Liam was shivering and sweating, his body growing hotter and hotter. Ashley's expression shifted to concern as she moved closer to assess what was wrong.

"I think he might be suffering from heart pain," Ashley observed, placing her hand on his chest. In an instant, his cold body became warm.

He slowly opened his eyes, staring at Ashley's beautiful face, momentarily forgetting his pain.

"Um… erm…" Jenny coughed softly, a smile spreading across her face. Ashley shot her a glance, hissed discreetly, and said, "We will join your company, the Lotus Flower Model Company. Are you willing to accept us?" She rolled her eyes dramatically.

"Yeah, we would love to accept you! But where are the cards?" Liam asked, looking towards Jenny.

It looks like you're working on a scene that involves dialogue. Here's a possible edit to enhance clarity and flow:

"Yeah, we will surely accept you," said Liam, addressing Jenny. "But where is the card?"

"You should be grateful," she replied. "There's a lot of money involved.

"Erm... erm..." Jenny stammered as she pulled out a bag filled with money.

Liam's eyes widened in disbelief as he asked, "Where the hell did you get this money? Don't tell me it's…"

"You don't know how to advertise," Jenny interjected. "We have almost a thousand people signed up for your company. Prepare for tomorrow!" She handed the bag of money over to him.

"Also," she continued, "your heart has been healed by an expert. Even if you try, you won't know who its, so have a nice day, and I'll see you tomorrow." With that, Jenny stood up to meet Ashley, who was waiting nearby. Ashley smiled at her, a huge grin that illuminated her face, hinting at a happiness she rarely showed.

"Hey, what's up with that smile?" Jenny asked, intrigued.

"You both look like a perfect match! That's amazing," Ashley responded. "And now you've even forgotten about your brother. Are you feeling okay? Why don't you let me check your blood, too?"

Jenny's face turned red as she exclaimed, "Ashley!" They both burst into laughter and began chasing each other like cats and mice.

"We really had a great day today," Jenny said, turning to Ashley. "What about you?"

Ashley's expression suddenly shifted. "To be honest, I've never had a great day like this. I was maltreated while growing up with my biological father, so I never really played or experienced joy. But when I grew older, I decided to hunt down the family that hurt my mother. I became strong and vowed to defend myself against anyone who misbehaved with me," Ashley confessed, her voice quivering as she fought back tears.

"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Why don't you forget all that and focus on what you want to achieve in this world?" Jenny consoled her.

"It's okay. And yeah, let's find somewhere to rest today. We don't have to worry about tomorrow," Ashley replied, flashing a beautiful smile.

*Lotus Flower Model Company

"Boss, I'm serious. Those girls pulled through, and many people are signing on with our company. Why don't you call Mr. Ray and tell him you don't agree with his terms? Our company is poised to grow beyond his expectations."

The boss hesitated for a moment before picking up the phone and dialing a number.

"Hello… my dear friend. Have you decided to accept my offer now?" The voice on the other end of the line asked.

It was easy to imagine the tension as their conversation continued.

"I've decided not to sell the company to you. Be prepared for my time to rise. What I do is none of your business, and yes, you're a threat to someone's life. You need to proceed with caution and keep your eyes open—who knows what might happen in the future?" Boss Martin said before hanging up the call.

"I think those girls won't let us down," Martin remarked, glancing at Liam. Liam smiled as he recalled Jenny's face and added, "Oh yeah, boss, if we manage to get enough people on board, shouldn't we give those girls a little something as a thank you?"

"Let's wait until tomorrow," Martin replied, taking a sip from his cup.

Raymond Gray Mansion*

"Out!!!" Ray screamed at the ladies beside him before snatching his phone and dialing a number. "Find out what's going on at Martin's company," he instructed, cutting the call before waiting for a response. Without hesitation, he dialed another number.

"What the hell is going on? Why did Martin reject my offer? I need an explanation!"

The person on the other end fell silent, unsure of how to respond, while the atmosphere crackled with tension.

"M-Mr. Ray, please calm down. I'll call him now," the voice stammered before hanging up.

Raymond's face reddened with frustration. He was at a loss for what was affecting him, so he called for some other girls. When one entered and forgot to kneel, he delivered a thunderous slap to her face before sending her out.
