Chapter 28 - The Legend

LESLIE'S POV:

"Hello, Leslie. I've been waiting for you."

The voice cut through the stillness of the forest, cold and unsettling. My entire body tensed as I turned, searching for the source. There, standing in the moonlit clearing, was Leah—the one person I had hoped never to see again. Her smile was sharp, predatory, and behind her, three large rogues stood, their faces twisted with malicious intent.

"You didn't make it to the person I sent you to," Leah sneered, her eyes glinting dangerously. "Instead, you found your mate... so I've heard."

I clenched my fists, bracing myself. Leah wasn't here for a friendly chat. Behind her were rogues, their feral energy crackling in the air, and I knew exactly why they were here. Leah's face was as smug as ever, but there was something darker beneath the surface—something calculating.
